It was the afternoon of my 20th birthday and my friend Britt and I were going out to the town of Seattle for a special birthday dinner. I wasn't sure about going to Seattle town for dinner. Seattle's people are mostly dup's. Even though I'm not a conduit I still get nervous around the
D.U.P. Everybody does.

My name is Sarah Kravis. I never really had much friends as a child. I was always left out. Not that I wanted to be in their group anyways. I have lived in Seattle for a few months now.

"Come on we gotta get goin if we're going to get a table" Britt exclaimed. "I'm just finishing up on this drawing" I replied. "You can finish it later" she said getting annoyed. "Fine" I said hopping into my red sneakers. "We are going to have fun, you'll see" she said with a grin on her face.

We walked to the restaurant as It was only two blocks away. On the way we past a electronics shop where the televisions were on. The news was on and they were talking about the bio terrorist threat. "The Department of unified protection has insured that the only reason they are locking up bio-terrorists is for the good of the population of Seattle. Since bio-terrorism started Britt has been terrified of them for no reason. To be honest I'm kinda interested in them.

Bio-terrorist is such a strong word, I rather The word Conduit. "Why do the DUP hate conduits?" I asked Britt. "I guess they're just afraid of what they can do to innocent people" Britt replied. "I guess they're just afraid of them being more powerful then themselves" I mumbled. "Watch what you say, it could get you into trouble" Britt said surprised at my cockiness. "Sorry" I replied to her comment.

When we arrived at the restaurant to our surprise there were a huge group of Dup's were vacating the place. "Looks like the Restaurant is closed off" said Britt. "Ya don't say" I replied sarcastically. "It looks like there was a conduit there" I said. "I think so, I'll meet you at home" Britt replied nervously while backing away. "But where are you going?" I asked. "Don't worry I'll be fine" she said now running

Being my usual self I got interested and went in for a closer look. It looked rather burned up inside. "Definitely a conduits work" I thought to myself. A DUP officer came up behind me and grabbed my arm. "what the hell do you think you are doing here little girl?" He asked angrily. "I was only looking, I swear" I answered. I could feel him tightening his grip of my arm. "Ouch, let go of me" I barked at him. He kept tightening and tightening until I could hear my own bones cracking. "Gees I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I said now almost crying with the pain. A shot of smoke fired out of the restaurant and hit the officer that was holding me. He fell to the ground pulling me with him to the ground. I pried his hand of my arm and realised he had the conduit ability of concrete. He had concrete shards stuck through my wrist. I pulled them out nearly screaming with the pain. There was a burned first aid kit on the ground and the only useful thing in it was antibacterial dressing. I wrapped it all around my arm where the shards went through. As the rest of the Dup retreated, out of the ashes and smoke appeared a young man dressed in a denim sleeveless jacket with a hoodie on the inside with jeans and a red Beanie.

He walked out of the restaurant without a single scratch.

I hid around a corner and watched him to see what he was doing. Before he could leave I idiotically shouted to him "hi". He was alarmed and said "are you not a afraid of me?" He asked in confusion. "I actually am not" I replied. "I would love to be a conduit". "Sooo do you have a name?" He asked. "Ya my name is Lara and you are?" I said. "I'm Delsin" he said watching my every move. "Why aren't you afraid of me?" He questioned. "Well I guess you never did anything to me and you don't hurt innocent people I'm guessing" I answered. "Anyone I meet either tries to kill me or trap me, which are you gonna do?" He asked while raising his hands into a combat position. "Neither" I said pushing his hands down.

Let's just say things got awkward fast. But I kinda liked it. I had never felt like that before and almost sure I would never feel like that again. As I stared into his eyes I realised what mess I would into if I feel in love with a damn conduit. I'm sure Britt would never talk to me again and then there is the DUP. I would be surely dead within 2 days of the relationship. Anyways I'm sure he would even like me that way.

Suddenly my phone vibrated. I had gotten a text from Britt.

"Where the hell are you, I'm starting to get worried :("

I quickly typed into my phone "I'm on my way, calm down"

"Good because your special birthday back-up dinner is getting cold ;)" she replied

"I gotta go" I said to him turning around.

"Well this was nice, I guess I'll see you around" I said knowing I would never see him again. "Well how about tomorrow?" He shouted at me. "What do you mean" I replied not knowing what he meant. "How about we meet up tomorrow?" He requested. "Is Delsin the InFamous Conduit asking me out?" I said sarcastically. "Maybe" he said. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow, but where?" I replied. "How about the Italian place around the corner?" He shouted. "It's a date" I shouted back.
