Fruity Mixers pt 2

TW: implied homophobia

"We might never get this chance again," Aziraphale began.

"Maybe not."

Aziraphale took a deep breath, and tried to let go of his misgivings. He was an angel who spread light and love, and he firmly believed that love was love."So let's forget everything and just be who we are. You and me."

"Okay," Crowley said without hesitation. "But I'll lead."

It didn't quite work that way, since Aziraphale kept trying to take over, which was absurd because he only knew one dance. Eventually they just stood in place and swayed. As the music came to a stop, Crowley leaned down, Aziraphale went up on tiptoe, and they kissed.

They had never, ever shown affection in public.

"That was worth a six thousand year wait," Crowley whispered.

"Let's try not to wait that long again, okay?" Aziraphale requested.

"Okay." And they kissed again.

The club closed at two; Crowley and Aziraphale left at one, to beat the crowds. They received hugs and "See you soon"s from dozens of people before spilling out into the night.

"We'll have to do that again sometime," Crowley said, grinning. He was drunk, and was putting off sobering up as long as he could. "Such good energy about that place."

"Energy," Aziraphale murmured. He turned to face building. "Energy...wait a moment, will you, dear?"

"Angel, someone might see--"

His protests fell on deaf ears, or perhaps just stubborn ears. Aziraphale closed his eyes, breathed deeply, and held both hands out in front of him.  A wave of Grace and love flowed out of him like a tidal wave, so strong that Crowley stepped back for fear of being burned. The wave flowed into, over, and around the entire club, wrapping in it a cocoon of safety.

"There,"Aziraphale said quietly, lowering his arms. "No harm can come to those inside."

Then his knees buckled.

Crowley caught him gently. The blessing had taken most of the angel's energy; no doubt he knew it would happen. "That was quite the miracle. Hope you don't get in trouble for it."

"They can't fault me for this one." Aziraphale's eyes fluttered, and he sagged a bit in Crowley's arms. "Can we go sleep now?"

"All right, angel. Let's take a celebratory nap."

1. Fruity's is used in an ironic, tongue-in-cheek way.

2. I tried to discuss gender identity and sexuality in a sensitive way, please let me know if I can do better.
