♡ fourty three; back to the past ♡

It had been months since the leaking of You Should Be Here (Greyson's mixtape) and every recording label was calling, emailing, faxing, whatever they could do to try and get her to sign with them.

Greyson had herself a clean plate. She ignored and denied every single request and decided it was best to stay with the self-managing thing. It was difficult, but she'd made it work.

She kept a close relationship to her fanbase, keeping them updated on Instagram and Snapchat. Greyson was snatching hearts from left and right, captivating many people all over the world because of this album. It was forgotten that she was known as Tyler Posey's girlfriend for a while, sort of like how Halsey was the girl who did the Haylor song way back when...
Fans from the beginning knew of her relationship with Tyler.

Greyson had yet to speak to Tyler, though she did stay close with Khylin and Arden. Milano had stuck by Greyson's side still and there wasn't room for a thought of her leaving.

Everything was moving along smoothly and well for Greyson, not entirely good though. For instance, since she was her own manager, there wasn't ever anyone that she could filter out. She wanted that, "Oh yeah, I'll give you my manager's number," kinda thing because sometimes it was necessary. She also had to work twice as hard when it came to new tracks. She would have to make up new beats and take in her own sound board which she could admit, was a lot better when a producer could do it themselves. It was such a great feeling of accomplishment though... For her to hear some of her songs on the radio and think, "I did that..." She came and she conquered. That was all on her. But Greyson was doing more than just music. She was living more freely and that... That was better than her past experience.

"G. Pharoh, whom am I talking to?" Greyson answered her phone, probably through a habit she'd developed that she would never break.

"Grey," Cameron chuckled on the other end. "You don't need to act so professional, it's just me." He teased.

"Meu irmão! Mil desculpa!" She raised her arms even though he couldn't see her. "I've been getting calls like louco today so I thought you were a business call."

Cameron Anderson laughed dryly. He was proud of his sister, he couldn't believe it himself. His sister was a big star now. "Business call? So what, you can't call your brother in between work?"

"I know, I know, I was supposed to call. I was actually gonna get to that, I didn't forget about you." Greyson set her pen down, leaning back in her leather chair, tucking her hair back. She crossed her ankles and smiled. Her brother could always make her day.

"Oh, really?" Cameron scoffed playfully. "You...were gonna call me? While working?.. Greyson, you can't be serious. When you're working, you don't even remember what day it is. Remember, you asked me if it was Sunday when it was Wednesday?"

"I don't have a calendar in my office, loser, so cut me some slack that I get lost in work." Greyson pulled out her drawer, plucking out a stack of pink post-it notes. "Here, I'm writing a note to myself." Her hand moved quick on the paper.

Buy a calander

That didn't look right. Greyson squinted her eyes, tilting her head as if that would make it look better, which it didn't. She sighed loudly before scribbling it out and rewriting it again.

buy a calender

"Cam, how do you spell calendar?" Greyson asked, crossing out what she had again.

"Um, c-a-l-e-n-d-a-r... It's not that hard G..." A sudden wave of nostalgia and déjà vu had hit Greyson like a tsunami and it was last year all over again.

Greyson neatly rewrote her reminder and stuck it on the side of her laptop, on top of every other reminder she'd forgotten and stared at the screen for a moment. Her eyes flickered to her photo gallery and back to her sticky note.

"Grey?" Cameron called out to her. "You still there sis?"

"Yeah." The girl sounded side-tracked though. "Can I call you back?"

She earned a very loud and overdramatic sigh before Cameron had said his farewells. Greyson had set her phone down beside her laptop before touching the mousepad.

The mouse icon had hovered over the photo gallery application and she quickly launched it. It took a few moments for it to load considering she had so many photos from so long ago on her laptop. Greyson clicked the scroll bar, dragging it all the way down to the bottom to where her most recent pictures were.

They were screen caps of her and Tyler's FaceTime call from long ago when they were together. Tyler was wrapped in a fuzzy, yellow blanket and he just looked so cuddly and sleepy. She had remembered joking around about how he had reminded her of a duck. Tyler blushed and flipped her off.

Removing her hands from her laptop, Greyson sat back in her chair again, eyes glued to the screen. She was in deep thought and drifted off in her head, which if it wasn't dangerous enough, her thoughts had to be about Tyler.

Tyler was at home, holding his dog when Sprayberry had sent a Kik message. Probably to the groupchat but did it matter?

dyl spray: u guys

dyl spray: can we start a band

Tyler playfully rolled his eyes at the boy's foolishness and random thoughts so he exited out of the conversation, not bothering to respond. He knew someone was bound to respond anyway, probably Rhambo or Daniel.

He almost shut off his phone but he'd caught something from the corner of his eye and it stopped him completely dead in his tracks as he did a double-take. Tyler slitted his eyes, making sure what he saw was correct.

just grey is typing...

Tyler sat for a moment, waiting for her to send her message to him. He was figuratively jumping in his seat so much, that his dog had looked up at him and licked his face. Greyson hadn't talked to him in months, not since that moment when she came to visit on behalf of Arden.

When the Kik notification chime went off, it was an instant click into the message.
