Chapter 24

Khushi's POV

When I was a child, I always thought that this day would be the happiest day of my life, but now I know that not every dream is meant to be fulfilled. I always dreamed of marrying a prince who would make me his princess, who would love me unconditionally, and with whom I would live happily.

Yes, today is my wedding, and I think I am the first girl who is unhappy at her own wedding. I had many dreams for my wedding, but it seems like I wasted my time on dreaming. Never in my wildest dream did I think my marriage would take place like this. But, sometimes in life, you have to sacrifice for your loved ones.

Only family members are invited to the wedding, and I am thankful for that.

After some time, I will become 'Mrs. Khushi Shourya Kapoor'.

Ughh, I already hate this name.

"Here you go, Ma'am. It's finished. Now you can open your eyes, " the makeup artist said.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked  at myself in the mirror, and I gasped.

I was looking like a totally different person.

She laughed at my expression,"Ma'am, don't worry, it's you only."

"Thank you,"

"Oh, my god! My daughter is looking beautiful. May God protect you from evil eyes," mom entered my room and said, looking at me.

She then turned towards the beautician and said, "thank you dear for making my beautiful daughter more beautiful."

"You are welcome, ma'am," she said, smiling at my mom, and she packed her things and went from there.

"Khushi, come here." Mom took my hands in hers and made me sit on my bed.

She sat beside me. "Khushi, before you start your new life, I have something to share with you." She started gently rubbing my palm and continued, "you know, Khushi, your dad always used to say, 'Urvashi, one day our baby girl will leave us'. He used to cry thinking about you going away from us."

Tears formed in my eyes thinking about my dad.

Dad, I miss you..

Mom wiped my tears and started, "Though today he is not there with us,  I know he is looking at his beautiful baby girl from above and must be happy to see his beautiful daughter getting married to her prince."

I wanted to say that he is not my prince. I am not happy with this marriage.

"Khushi, marriage is not a bed of roses like we read in stories. Remember, situations will come that you have never encountered earlier in your life, and your patience and love will be tested several times. Whenever you think that you are stuck with something, just pray and try to solve your problems by trying to talk with your partner." I nodded my head.

"Remember that Communication is very important in a  relationship, and NEVER EVER make a permanent decision due to temporary emotions."

From today onwards, my life will change, but I don't know whether it will change in a good way or a bad way.

"Khushi, always do what is good. You two are going to spend the rest of your lives with each other. Remember, as I said earlier, some moments will give you pain and some moments will give you happiness, so never give up on your relationship, understood?" She said.

I nodded my head, wiping my tears.

I hugged her tightly and said, "Mom, I will miss you and Divya."

She was also crying along with me. "We will also miss you too, Khushi," she said, rubbing my back.

"I am glad you have found the love of your life, who will love you, and I know you will be happy with him forever," she said, wiping my tears.

I wanted to yell at her and say, NO. He is not the love of my life, but I know I can't do anything.

I felt like running away from this marriage.

"Did I disturb something?" Nitya was standing at the entrance of my room and panting like a dog.

"No, Nitya, come inside," mom instructed.

"You both talk. I am going to see the preparations," Mom said, and left my room.

"You are late, Nitya ,and why are you panting like a dog?" I said, glaring at her.

"Hey, I know I am late. Sorry for that. Actually, I had some work," She said, holding her ears, "and I am not panting like a dogs. I didn't want to be late for my bestie's wedding, so I came running." She hugged me tight.

"You are looking gorgeous, my sweetheart, and I will miss you, baby."

"Thank you, Nitya, and I will also miss you too."

I will miss her.

"Hey, Khushi, why are you crying?" She asked, wiping my tears.

I shook my head and tried to give her a smile, but failed.

"Shhh, Khushi, don't cry. Remember, if you want anything, then you can call me anytime. I will be there within two minutes."

I hugged her.

"Hey, you are destroying your makeup by crying. I don't know how Shourya will tolerate this crying baby."

I glared at her.

"Di, they are here. Let's go" Divya came and spoke in a sad tone.

I don't want to leave them. I don't want to get married to that monster, but I can't do anything.

Divya came and hugged me and started crying. I will miss my baby sis, and mom. I don't know how I would live without them.

"Ok now, let's retouch your makeup," Nitya said, and started doing my makeup.

After doing my makeup, I got up to seal my destiny forever with Shourya.

Shourya's POV

I was going through my mails when good for nothing friend entered my room.

"Hello, Mr. Groom," he said, sitting beside me.

I glared at him

"Atleast smile today. Today is your wedding day" he said, keeping his hand on my shoulder.

"Shut up, Rahul! This is the worst day of my life, and you want me to smile on this day, like seriously, Rahul?" I asked, gritting my teeth.

"Oh, bro, calm down. Whether you become happy or not, I am happy for you," he said, grinning like a monkey.

Now he is testing my patience.

Sometimes I really hate you, Rahul.

"Ok, now get ready quickly; I can't wait to see my bhabhi (sister-in-law)"

"Shut up, Rahul! Just SHUT UP! She is not your bhabhi," I yelled.

"Calm down, man. Why are you yelling? Stop your shouting and get ready fast." He said that and got up to leave my room. "And ya, don't forget to apply some makeup, and ya, most importantly, don't forget to apply red lipstick. You will look cute," he said, winking at me.

I grabbed my shoe and threw it on him, but he was too fast to run.

I started getting ready for my worst day.

After awhile, mom came to my room.

"Shourya, are you ready?" She asked.

"Yes, mom"

"Shourya, listen," mom said, and I looked at her. "I know, Shourya, that you are not ready to get married. Remember, we are doing this for your good," she said, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"Are you serious, mom? Dad forced me to marry some stranger against my will and you are saying you are doing this for my good. Seriously, mom? In which way do you think you are doing good for me?" I asked angrily.

I was angry at mom and dad, and mostly, I was angry at that girl. How could she say yes without knowing about me?

'Shourya, you are thinking rubbish. Who would not know the billionaire Mr. Shourya kapoor?' My mind mocked me.

I will show you the consequences of getting married to me, Miss.

Dad said that only both families would be there for the wedding.

Thank god! There will be no other relatives or office employees.

"She is really a nice girl, Shourya" Mom said. "Shourya, there is only one thing I want to tell you. After a few hours, you will be a married man. So, never allow anyone to enter into your marriage life," she said in a serious tone.

I know she is indirectly talking about Samaira.

"Mom, you already know that I love Samaira."

"Try to forget about her, she is not good for you," she said in a stern tone, "Now let's go."

It's all  happening because of that girl. How could someone accept a proposal without looking at the groom? I think maybe that girl  blackmailed my dad, or maybe that girl must have acted like a good person in front of my dad and mom.

'Miss whoever it is, I will not leave you for spoiling my life, and I will ruin yours too. You will see the dark side of this Shourya Kapoor, and I will make you regret it. Just wait and watch.'
