--Outing For Three--

--Logan's POV--

"So....you gonna go?" Virgil asks.
I stay motionless as my eyes are glued to the drawing of a whale with a penis with the words 'DORK." written in bold letters above it.
"I'm unsure."
"How come?" He sits down next to me to see what I'm looking at. "What the fu--?"
"Well, one, I want to make sure you're okay to be by yourself, and two I think the drawing is supposed to be comical."
Virgil blinks and shakes his head.
"Okay? And yes, I'll be fine. You don't need to babysit me, ya know?" He explains.
"I know it can be difficult for you to be alone, Virg."
Virgil ruffles his hair and momentarily looks away.
"I don't mean to say it in a deprecating manner."
"I know..." He looks back at me and forces a small smile.
I place the papers down on the coffee table in front of me and turn to face Virgil.
"I'm sorry..."
His eyes widen. "No! Logan it's fine I j-just." He lets out a sigh.
"You didn't do anything wrong." He places a hand on my shoulder. "Don't blame yourself, okay?"
I nod.
"Virg?"
"Yea?"
"Do you think..."
I pause for a moment to breathe in.
"Do you think I can get my emotions under control?" I look down at my hands which shake slightly.
He puts his hands on top of mine to still them.
"I believe you can do anything, Lo. There's no one quite like you."
As I look up, I can't help but feeling a bit shocked. When I look at him, he's smiling...like he believes in me.
Without second thought I move in for a hug, wrapping my arms around his torso.
I feel his heart beat quicken.
Laying my head on his shoulder, I inhale his familiar scent.
"I feel....I feel so out of control...I don't like that feeling very much."
His arms slither to my back as he holds on tighter.
He's always been here for me. The only one I can really hold like this without judgement. My best friend and truest companion.
My body is shaking and the tears stream down my face and it is I who feels like the child now; crying like this and holding on for dear life.
"Oh Logan..." He sighs.
"You are the closest thing I have to love, Virgil."
One of his hands runs up my spine and lands on the back of my hair. He begins to move through it gently, curling fingers between locks of dark brown hair.
"I know.." He whispers.
---

Immediately I awake to the sound of my alarm and get out of bed.
After brushing my teeth and getting on proper clothing, I make my way to Virgil's door.
I knock twice, and once more like I did everyday.
"Logaaaan it's the weekend." I hear him complain.
I move into the room and begin to open the curtains.
"Having a strict schedule is good for both of us." I tell him.
Virgil groans as he buries his head under his pillow.
"Get up before I pull you out."
I am aware that he can hear my footsteps now.
Nearing his bed I motion to remove the sheets, but before I could, Virgil quickly sits up.
"I'm up, I'm up!"
"Good. Now come on."
Leaving the room, I go to the kitchen to make breakfast.

"Eggs, baccon, and pancakes."
I place the plate of food in front of Virgil as he sits at the kitchen island.
"Soooo," he looks up at me.
"Are you going to see those two new friends of yours today?"
"They aren't my friends, I barely know them." I respond as I begin to make my own plate of food.
"That's not answering my question." He teases.
I give him a small glare.
"It's okay if you go, Logan. I'll be fine, I promise." Virgil holds out his hand and puts his pinky up.
"Fine. But if anything occurs when I'm gone, I won't let you be by yourself for long periods of time again."
"I'm not that bad...."
I give him a look of unbelief.
"Okay! I won't. Can I at least get a warning if something bad happens instead of taking away my lack-of-assistance privileges?"
I give him a smile. "No."
"Ugh."
I tend to smile way more when I'm around Virgil. Feeling comfortable enough with him to show emotions was hard for me at the beginning. Since, I hadn't really had the chance to open up before him. I felt it was best to keep most things to myself. Other people didn't need to know my struggles.
Keeping people at a distance wasn't hard for me. The loneliness was just a side effect of that.
"If everything is optimal, I can go." I check my watch.
"Maybe text them first..?"
"What if they aren't up yet?"
"HA! Oh they are." He smirks.
"What does that mean?" I question, confused now.
"Have you seen the eyebags they have? I can tell when someone's sleep deprived, from one insomniac to another." Virgil dips his head as if lack of sleep was something to be praised over.
Pulling out my phone I check the time and then go and pick up the pieces of paper containing Janus' and Remus' phone number.
I dial Janus' phone first.
It rings twice and then I hear a click.
"Helloooo~?" I hear his smooth voice say.
"This is Logan Wright. I have decided to take you up on your offer to meet up."
Virgil shakes his head as he watches me.
"Ah! Perfect. We'll meet you at the gas station for some coffee since I'm certain Remus will need it."
"No need, I can drive us to a proper coffee shop." I start to grab my jacket and wallet.
"Even better! I'll go fetch Remus and you can come pick us up at my house. I'll send you the address." Ruffling sounds in the background.
"I'll be there in exactly 15 minutes. Bye." After hanging up, I turn to Virgil to see his face red with laughter.
"What is so funny?"
"You're so awkard! And I thought I was bad---" He says breathless.
"That wasn't awkward. I was getting straight to the point. I told him who I was and explained what we were doing."
"Gosh, this is why you need more friends, Lo." Virgil gets up and places his plate in the sink.
---

Exactly as I said, it took only fifteen minutes to get to Janus' house. It wasn't anything grand but it wasn't inhabitable.
Standing outside of the brick house was both Janus and Remus dressed in two different kinds of styles.
Janus was wearing warmer and calmer tones of brown while Remus wore bright colors that matched his almost neon looking spiked green hair.
Remus was laughing about something until he noticed my presence.
They both made their way to my car.
"Well, hello~" Remus gave me a little wink and climbed into the car. I felt a chill run down my spine.
"I CALL SHOTGUN!" He yelled, rushing to the front seat before Janus.
"Oh so considerate as always." Janus said sarcastically.
I've noticed their dynamic when I first met them, but its really showing now that I am actually around them by my own choice.
'Remus is the chaotic one, and the other is the enabler.' Virgil told me after we ran into them at the gas station.
I saw his point now.
"Is everyone ready?" I asked looking in the mirror above my dashboard.
"Yes sir!" Remus smiled.
"Yes.." Janus answered calmly.
With that I backed out of the drive way and started driving to the nearest coffee shop.
