Y/n's POV:

Briiiingg.

Briiiingg.

"Ugh," I mutter. "Can't my alarm just wait until I'm ready to wake up...?" I sighed, silencing it.

I know it's an irrational thought, but it's 7 am. Give me a break.

I roll around in my bed, savoring the warmth, then throw the covers off reluctantly.

I force myself out of bed, and cast my fuchsia colored eyes around the room. What day was it again? Oh yeah. The first day of school, Wednesday.

I then start walking, zombie-like to the bathroom and get ready.

After eating breakfast, I wave goodbye to my parents and walk to Kimetsu Academy with my twin, Uzui Tengen. Even though we are twins, we look almost nothing alike, except for our eyes.

In our first year, he practically dragged me over to his friend group that he made of people he deemed "flamboyant". Now, after two years of sticking together, I was pretty close with Shinobu, Mitsuri, Iguro, Gyomei, Giyuu, Rengoku, and Shinaguzawa. Especially Shinobu and Mitsuri, we've pretty much become best friends.

Two classes go by, before Tengen and I meet up coincidentally outside of a classroom, 3-B. We walk in together, and my gaze sweeps across the room critically. Upon seeing both Mitsuri and Shinobu, a small smile appears on my face and I sit next to them.

"Y/n-chan! Hi!"

"Ara Ara, seems like we're all in the same class this time."

"Hey, Mitsuri and Shinobu," I reply. "Glad you guys are in this class too.."

Last year, I had been in most of my classes alone, and it had been a STRUGGLE finding partners. After all, I'm not some kind of extrovert.

We chat for a little bit, and then half pay attention while class starts. I'd say I have average grades, average looks, pretty much average everything. My complete averageness actually made me insecure for a while, but like, who wouldn't be insecure when your best friends are Mitsuri and Shinobu?

The teacher asks us to pick partners for a brief project about getting to know each other. How pointless. Aren't friends just going to pick each other? I automatically look towards my two best friends, but they already paired up.

"Gomen Y/n chan!" Mitsuri apologizes. "Maybe go pair up with Iguro over there?"

She points across the classroom to where Iguro is, but he's already with Shinaguzawa. Lol. What an interesting combo...
There's no one else in this class that I know well enough to partner with tho, great >:(

As a last resort, I ask the teacher if I could form a group of three. No can do, apparently.

Just as I was starting to panic a little, I feel a poke on my back. I turn around hesitantly and find a long haired... boy? Yeah, definitely a boy, with mint tips on his hair and a short height. My first impression is that he sorta looks like one of my favorite characters from the anime that I'm currently watching. Huh.

"Can I help you with something...?" I ask.

"Would you like to be my partner?" he asks bluntly and straight up.

I sigh. I look around the room discreetly one more time, but everyone else is already paired up. I nod, giving up. No choice then. He pulls out a piece of paper, and we start on the project.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Muichiro Tokito." he replies. "Yours?"

"Y/n Uzui."

After the period is over, we've done about 3/4 of the project already. He's a pretty fast worker, and smart too. Unlike my dumb ass. Tokito-san reminds me of Giyu a little bit, but more emotionless. Giyu's just... depressed.

~lunch time~

Tengen comes barging over to my desk as usual, getting ready to drag me over to our usual lunch spot with the rest of our friends. He sees Tokito-san immediately and wiggles his eyebrows up and down.

"Ooh, who's this Y/n? I would've thought you'd partner with Shinobu or Mitsuri."

"They partnered together." I slightly pout. "And this is Muichiro Tokito."

"You seem flamboyant enough! Also sorta like the type to have zero friends!" Tengen announces. "Wanna eat lunch with us?'

How rude.
