11

With my heart beating so fast, I entered the campus.

It was beautiful.

Words cannot describe how I felt when I took the first step inside the boundaries. I had always wanted to study there and I would've lost that chance but I just got lucky and that moment, my first moment at SIU medical school was euphoric.

In front of the main building, a small group of students were already standing. I joined them and asked if they were the new students.

They replied they were and welcomed me. A senior student came to escort us to the hall where they were having a small ceremony to welcome us.

When I entered, it was already full with the rest of my classmates, more than a hundred and fifty people. I found a seat at the very back.

Dean of our institution entered, followed by other members of the faculty and welcomed us in a formal speech. He outlined our course and other stuff through a PowerPoint presentation. He said a lot of 'apparently' motivating things and emphasised on how we had to work really hard if we wanted to make it out of here.

Then he left and we were told we'd get our orientations soon, whatever that meant. The students engaged in conversation among themselves.

Two rows in my front, a girl was laughing so loud everyone's attention turned to her.

"So yes, he got me this bag" she said as she patted her bag. It was a black weird looking bag.

"It's so beautiful! It must've cost a fortune!" a girl near her exclaimed.

"Duh" the girl laughed again.

To be honest it was quite ugly.

"Psst. Hey. Hey you" a girl touched my shoulder from the back seat. "Where did u get that bag?"

Why were all these people so obsessed with bags?

"Uhm... my stylist gave it to me?"

"You've a stylist? Are you a kpop trainee?"

"No. Uh it's like... She decides the outfit for me"

"For real? What does your father do?"

"He's a vet"

"He must be really good at his job" she came over to the front so she could take a better look at my dress. Other people's attention was slowly turning to me as well. She made a face when she saw my shoes.

"Your stylist let you wear them?" She asked.

No, but my boyfriend did. I smiled as I thought about how Taehyung just bought them for me.

"Can I see that bag?" She asked again. I pushed my bag towards her, thoroughly annoyed. The girls from the front were watching us too.

"This is my favourite bag from Gucci. I can afford it, but um... I kind of don't wanna spend that much just on a bag you know"

"Um, okay?" I said, taking away my bag but she was reluctant to return it.

"Your dress is Gucci too" she observed.

"I guess?" For real though.

"Your shoes don't go with this outfit"

"I just wear what makes me comfortable. And I honestly don't care for brands"

"Your outfit says otherwise" she smirked.

"As I said, the stylist literally forced me into it"

"And who is your stylist?"

"Sunhee?"

There was a group of girls watching us now and all of them gasped.

"Sunhee as in the owner of SunBee?"

"Her bag is more expensive than yours" friend of the girl from the front told her "And her outfit is wayyyy more expensive than yours"

"I have more expensive bags and I'll bring one tomorrow. Also, it's..." the girl gritted her teeth "Not about the price you know. Do you really think Sunhee would let her live if she wore those shoes with that dress?"

"I GOT YOU BREAKFAST!!!" Someone entered through the door and everyone looked at the guy.

Curly hair and dressed in a yellow uniform, with a ruthless beard and moustache, and waving a paper bag and coffee was a young man looking for someone.

"There you are y/n!" He beamed and started walking up the steps.

I stood up and ran to him, hugging him tightly. Even through his disguise, I could recognise Jimin. And I was so happy to see him. As if he had rescued me.

"Why is she hugging a delivery guy" one of the girls scoffed.

You'd lick his toes if he took off that wig, I mentally rolled my eyes.

"I think her bag and outfit are fake, why would someone with such an expensive dress just hug a delivery guy"

"They are legit, I know" one of the girls said loudly and then winked at me. She was so beautiful I couldn't stop staring even though I was still hugging Jimin. She probably had the silkiest hair in the world, wide eyes, a straight nose, high cheekbones and lips that were just the right size.

Jimin had brought me donuts and coffee. I had almost forgotten about how I left my apartment without waiting for him so he brought my breakfast to my school.

Always the caring, warm hearted angel.

He left after he handed me the breakfast and made sure I was doing well.

The girls kept giving me wary glances while one of the guys asked me if he could add me on Facebook. I told him I didn't have an account and moved away from him. Some time later, a group of seniors entered and told us they would be showing us around the campus, which they did. That was apparently the orientation.

I really loved this med school, but I wasn't so sure if I was going to like my classmates.
