"there is nothing stronger than a soft soul."

"Okay so Crean High has a really nice campus and also the teachers, there are super sweet too, so if you need anything you can just ask them," Isabelle explains as I packed my school bag in the living room.

It's been a few days since I arrived in California and all I have been doing was staying inside and organizing my room. Isabelle got me some supplies and also a school bag because I didn't have anything prepared for school.

"Thank you, Isabelle. I appreciate it."

"Of course, also I know your car isn't going to be here until a few months, so Wes can take you to school."

"I am?" Wes asked as he walked into the living room with his backpack on.

"If it's an issue I can just walk-"

"Nonsense, Wes can take you. Right, Wes?" Isabelle said looking at her son with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh no, it's not a problem. We are going the same way anyways." Wes said to his mother and then looked at me. "Are you ready? Cause I was about to leave now." Wes asked me.

I nodded my head, and I grabbed my school bag.

"Great, I'll see you guys when I get home. Make sure to show her around Wes. Hope you have a good first day Alexis." Isabelle said as we walked out of the door.

I smiled at her and closed the front door behind me.

Wes and I walked to his black Mustang.

I never knew he had a car, especially this kind of car.

"Nice car," I said as we get inside the car.

"Thanks, I got this a year ago and have been saving up for it," Wes said while starting the car.

Wes pulled out of the driveway and started driving towards the school. While Wes was driving, I looked at all of the houses that we passed. They all looked like they cost millions.

In New Jersey, I didn't really live in these kinds of houses. Our house had enough rooms for my parents, brother, and me. But it was home, and I was comfortable living there.

"Do you still read and write?" Wes asked. "They have this really cool writing class and I know how you like to write poems and small novels."

"Uh yeah kind of."

"I remember that you always had your head in a book."

"I didn't read that much okay." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Liar. You always had your head in a book and don't forget about writing too. But then again your mom did get you on that."

I forgot about most of the memories that have my mom in them. When the accident happened, I lost a good chunk of my memory and I wish to god I didn't because now I barely remember what everyone is talking about when they mention them."

"Do you still play football?" I asked Wes instead of talking more about my mom.

"Yes, believe it or not, I am the captain of the team."

"That's cool. I remember how obsessed you were with that sport."

"I love Football. I am proud that I got the chance to become the captain of the team, but it wasn't easy. I had to compete with this one guy on the team that is super stubborn." Wes chuckled lightly. "Do you still work on cars?" Wes asked.

Hell no.

The last time I worked on a car was when I was with my older brother Jack and my father. I can't even think about doing that anymore.

But it was my favorite thing to do. I loved staying in the garage and working with both of them on Jack's car. My mom would come down in the garage and bring us snacks to eat and we would sometimes dance to music while working.

"No."

Wes didn't ask me anything else for the rest of the drive to school.

Once we got there, he parked the car in a parking spot. The cars I saw in the parking lot were all very luxurious. They all looked like very expensive brands like Porsches, Mercedes, Range Rovers, etc.

"Okay uh, the office is inside. Just walk straight and make a left and then you should be good." Wes said once we were both side by side in front of the school. "If you need anything text me but have a good first day I guess." He said before walking away.

I let out a deep sigh before walking inside the school. As I walked towards the entrance there were a lot of eyes on me.

It was probably because I am new though.

As I walked inside the school, I heard the bell ring making more and more people walk inside the hallways and then going inside the classrooms.

I walk straight, going the way Wes told me to go to find the office. When I do go to the office, I see two ladies sitting at a desk and another kid who was sitting in a chair. I look away from the kid and walk up to the front desk where a lady with black hair was sitting.

"Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering if I could have my schedule and locker number? My aunt said that I needed to come to the office to get it." I stated making the lady look up at me.

"What's your name?" She looked at her computer while typing some keys.

"Alexis Carter," I stated.

She typed on her computer and then slid her chair towards the printer behind her. She grabbed the papers and put them on her desk for me to take.

"There is a map that you can use to find your classes. The locker number combination is on your schedule paper. If you need anything else, then you can come back here. Also at lunch, you can take your ID photo in the photography room."

"Okay thank you," I said as I grab the papers and left out the door.

I took out my schedule and look through all of my classes.

P1: Bryant- Consumers Math
P2: Physics-Lee
Break
P3: Free Period
P4: Passion Civics-Grey
Lunch
P5: English-Anderson
P6: Office Aid

Seems simple.

I am surprised I have such few classes. After all, for junior year I didn't take a lot of classes because I was kind of distracted with other things.

As I turn the corner, I bumped into someone making me drop my things on the floor.

"Shit." I heard the person say as I bend down and pick up my schedule that fell to the floor. As I grabbed the last paper from the floor, I see a hand also grab the paper. I look up and see a pair of hazel eyes staring back at me. "I am so sorry. I should pay more attention to where I am going."

I stand up and so does the girl.

The girl had very curly light brown hair and dark hazel eyes. She was wearing a white tank top and a baby blue skirt that looked appealing to her skin tone.

"It's fine. My head was somewhere else I should pay more attention." I spoke.

"Are you new? I have never seen you before." The girl asked.

"Yea I just moved here," I said while fixing all of the papers in my hand.

"Oh well, I am Willow." The girl said with a smile.

I smiled. "Alexis"
