Chpt. 1

A/N: Before we start the first chapter I would just like to say that some of the characters may seem a bit OOC but that's how I meant to write the story and if you don't like that don't read it.

Reid's Apartment 7:05 P.M.

Spencer Reid didn't know what to feel. He was so relieved that Emily is alive, but still couldn't help but feel hurt, betrayed, and angry that they didn't seem to trust him enough to tell him that one of his closest friends wasn't actually dead. How could they not tell him after all they had been through? He ju-the sound of a car horn coming from the parking lot of his apartment complex pulled him from his thoughts. He looked at his watch, 7:05, "Crap." He said to himself. He was supposed to be at Rossi's by 7:00. He decided even though he was still upset and angry that he'd still go to Rossi's house to see what would happen. He quickly ran to his closet, threw on a pair of jeans, and a striped t-shirt with a black blazer over it.

A/N: Here's an image of what he's wearing, it's the same as when he shows up at Rossi's in 7x02

He ran to his front door where he grabbed his black converse and slipped them on. Just as he finished tying his shoes his phone rang in his pocket. Figuring it was one of the team members seeing where he was he answered it without looking at the caller id.
"Reid." He answered.
"Hi is this Spencer Reid?" A woman on the other line asked.
Spencer pulled the phone away from his ear and saw that it was a number he didn't recognize. Curious, he asked who it was.
"My name is Dr. Grace Morrison of Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas. I'm calling to inform you that your father, William Reid was in a car crash this evening, he is in surgery as we speak and we were wondering if you'd be able to come here and be there for your father considering your mothers position and you being the only next of kin apart from her."
"Oh my god, uhh yeah I'll be there as soon as I can, do you think he'll make it?" He asked.
"We are uncertain at this moment but we'll know more after he gets out of surgery." The doctor said.
"Oh ok, um thanks for calling." He said not really knowing what to say at this point.
"No problem Mr. Reid, have a safe flight out." With that the doctor hung up.
By now Spencer was standing with his back against his door trying to regulate his breathing. He sank to the floor in shock.
He had never really had a great relationship with his father but over the past year he had been talking with him more and more and they had built a nice friendship with each other. He could never say he'd been the best father growing up, because he wasn't. But Spencer has forgiven him for what he'd done after his father explained his side of the story.
He just kept playing the conversation over and over in his head, and that's when the dam broke. He put his arms around his legs and rested his head on his knees and cried. He sat there for god knows how long, when he finally got up he checked the time, 7:56. He'd only been sitting there for 45 minutes.
Now out of his haze he grabbed his messenger bag which held his wallet, badge, gun, and a few other miscellaneous things. He ran out of his apartment building stopping briefly to lock his door, and got a taxi to the airport.

Reid quickly paid the driver and ran into the airport. Once he got in he got the next flight to Las Vegas which took off at 9:00 P.M. He got through security and was on the plane by 8:45.

Spencer watched he lights fly by through the foggy window of the taxi. He needed something to preoccupy his mind so he reached for his phone which had been turned off so as not to disturb anybody on the plane ride. Clicking the power button his phone flashed once and- dang it, he forgot to charge it on the plane and it had died.  Spencer  numbly but it back into his messenger bag as he prepared for what was ahead.
