He, Signs, Confrontations & Pregnancy I.

River.

"Do you ever rest?" Danton accuses as I pull out a tray of lemon twisters, then devils delight from the two ovens next to me. "No I don't, plus, I need to focus my energy away from everything that's happened these past weeks, ever since Julian and I became official, it's like problem after problem is coming for us and if I let it get to me, it will drag me down." I told Danton as he helped me pan out the banana bread dough. "Do you regret it, I mean being official?" He asks and I shake my head in refusal. "I would never regret it, it's the best thing that's happened to me in a long time, amongst other things, but it being on top, I've gone through a lot and finally having love in my life has been good for me." I explained and he chuckled before handing me a ginger biscuit.

"I'm sure whatever is going on, you'll be alright, you're the strongest witch I know, and the bravest person I know aswell, if anyone can figure out what's going on it's you." He reassures and I was grateful for his reassurance, it made me feel worlds better. "So, while you've been dealing with the drama of your life, I got a girlfriend." He announces and my shock couldn't be more apparent. "Danton, you've been holding out on me babe." I accuse jabbing him and he chuckles swatting my pointer fingers away. "It happened recently, and I didn't wanna jinx it." He explains and an oh escapes my lips. "I get it, I do, but don't keep things like this from me, it's a happy thing." I exclaim as we both exit the kitchen in laughter.

"Hey boss, another themed cake was ordered, needed by next week, it's a large one." One of my employees announces as I got to the counter. "Put it on the top priority board then, we'll start planning it tomorrow." I replied as they nodded and got back to work. "I'm just glad things are getting back to normal, a whole two weeks and no problems —" Danton sighed happily but I had a feeling that was about to change, and like I had predicted the door opened with an exasperated Zaya and my brother whose emotions were enough to give me a headache when they were projected into me through our bond. "Whoa—whoa, whoa come here, it's alright, it's okay." I immediately got into action trying to calm him down.

"Dance with me." I told him as I hummed, he put his hand on my back, the other held mine as we began our slow dance, he was still fuming but I knew it would calm him. "Let's sit by an english river." I sang and he chuckled. "Can we light a cigarette and talk about days gone by." He adds as we moved to the beat. "So let's grab a bottle and take it one day at a time." We both sing as I could feel his wolf calm down, his emotions stopped bombarding me, as finally he breathed in deep. "I love you." He whispers in my mind. "I love you even more honey." We continued dancing as finally the song ended with him dipping me then pulling me back up. "Uh, what just happened?" Zaya questions as I part from my brother. "The two of them share emotions, and River usually has to make Riley dance when his emotions overwhelm him, it calms him down, don't try it though, I did and I still have the sexy scar to prove it." Danton explained to semi horrified Zaya.

"Horrible explanation, but in a way it's true, it's because you're not mated that you couldn't feel the things I felt, it would've given me a headache so I had to intervene, and I did, come sit by the snack bar and tell me what happened, how did it go with your father?" I explained and questioned Zaya, Riley groaned and she more so wanted to bang her head on the wooden railing. "That bad?" I teased as Danton came with a large double piece of red velvet cake, lemon crumble and ginger biscuits for Riley, the same order for Zaya too, I gave my nearly sister in law ice tea, for Riley chocolate milk was the way to go. "He said I couldn't provide, I had no actual role in the pack and I'm always trying to upstage the alpha." Riley explained with a sigh before plunging his fork into his cake, his frustration was gone the moment he moaned.

"I can't believe he would do this to me, he's a proud man, I get it, but his anger and arrogance I can't take it anymore, I already hurt Riley when I didn't acknowledge his feelings for me, now I'm making up for it and he's still making it hard for both of us to be happy, we want his blessings but at this point, I'd rather do things without him." Zaya let out her frustrations as well before stabbing her cake, like Riley, the moment she ate, everything melted away, that was the secret about cake and chocolate, it didn't ask stupid questions, it didn't tell you how to feel, it just was, it was comfort. "I'm sorry you two, and if that's what you want, you have Julian and I's blessing, alpha Khan too, he can't say no to me at this point." I exclaimed and the three of us laughed, it was hearty and well deserved, I was glad I could comfort them.

After my brother and his mate left for home, I got cleaned up and left the bakery in the capable hands of Danton, I needed to have a word with head warrior Kent about his actions toward my brother. He was everything and more that he claimed he wasn't and everyone could see it, so why couldn't he, why was he choosing not to see it, not only was Riley frustrated, his daughter was now forced to choose between him and her mate, any lycan would choose their mate, this was a life partner and he was a stubborn mule. I waved at pack members and children as I walked down the familiar streets of the pack until I passed them, the head warrior would be at the training grounds if I wasn't mistaken and that's where I had tracked him but the sight I found there wasn't peaceful at all.

I ran toward the nearest lycan just a few yards from the treeline, he was still alive but barely. "Helio sorbe niktu." I mumbled the first healing spell that came to mind and the lycan's wounds began healing, the deep gash in his leg stitched itself back, when it was done the warrior gasped back to consciousness, his heavy breathing indicating what I feared, they had been attacked. "What happened?" I demanded and he swallowed hard. "Luna, we— were attacked, the two of them, they came out of nowhere and attacked us, the others fled to get help, we tried to hold them off but they were too strong, they took the head warrior and Brent, they claimed that He, had told them, for the two to be returned the alpha had to come alone." He explained and my mind went on a tail spin.

Who was He, why was he doing this, had he been responsible for everything that had happened. "Alright, I need you to find the alpha and my mate, tell them to track me instead of the two who attacked you." I told the warrior as he staggered to his feet and made his way back. "Goddess protect me." I whispered activating spells on my body, the runic symbols glowed white on my skin, I was sure I'd need the protection, the woods seemed darker than usual as I walked in. "Pros tenembras pereluesum." I whispered the spell molding crystal white light into my palm, it illuminated the darkness even if my eyesight was as good as Riley's lycan, the darkness was overwhelming, making my way in the woods with careful ease and floating gently, I found traces of the two abducted lycans, Brent was the next in line as head warrior, I'm sure he wouldn't have left his father to be taken.

My tracking spell wore off just as I passed pack territory into unclaimed land, they were close by, crouching down to the forest floor, I looked for clues, and instead of me finding them, they found me. "Well, well, the luna, what a pleasant surprise." One of them cackled as they floated in the air, extreme dark magic leaked from their bodies, this wasn't going to be easy.
