It's me. I am the April fool.

It's friday, the day of that stupid party that Luis said we'd go to. I barely even like parties, let alone parties hosted by prissy barbie bitches. Aadhya and Josiah agreed to come with us though, so i'm not complaining too much.

School was boring since Lu had another away game, but he told me i couldn't come after what happened last time. It wasn't even my fault, but i accepted it.

Now it's 7pm, and i've just finished getting ready.

Aadhya should be coming over soon, and then Luis and Jo are gonna come and pick us up from my house.

I straightened my hair last night for fun, but i really wish i had my curls right now. I'm debating putting my head in the shower when the doorbell rings. Well, too late.

Pulling the door open, i step back as Aadhya steps in and almost gasp.

She's wearing black leather pants with the prettiest of silk black corsets, heavy dark eyeliner on her eyes and her hair silky, flowing down her back.

I stare at her opened mouthed as she literally mirrors my facial expression. Then we both squeal.

"You look so good!" i punch her arm lightly a couple times.

"Me? Babe you look amazing!" she jumps up and down excitedly.

"Omg we look totes cute!" someone says in a mock high pitched voice.

"I know right! Adorbs!" another says.

Aads and i turn around to see Luis and Josiah in the open doorway taking the absolute piss out of us.

"You're a prick." i laugh as i shove Luis in the chest.

He smirks, grabbing my wrist and pulling me back into him.

"You're beautiful." he leans down and kisses my neck.

"Stop it you nerd." i giggle as he plants little kisses on the side of my face.

"Get a room." Aads says like she's clearing her throat.

Jo laughs, nuding her with his elbow.

"Real funny." i make a face at the both of them.

"Let's go punks." Lu rolls his eyes, stepping back out the front door.

"Vamos amigas!" Aadhya skips out the door after him.

"Let's go i guess." i turn to Josiah.

He shakes his head, laughing.

We pile into the jeep, me in the front with Lu and Jo with Aads in the back. Maddy doesn't actually live that far, so the car journey isn't long.

The music is thumping as soon as we step out of the car, vibrating through my body. Luis, Jo and Aadhya greet a few people on the porch as we walk in.

The party-goer life i guess.

People are spilling out of Maddy's house. Aadhya holds on to my hand as we push through the door. There's a lot going on.

Beer pong to the right, that card sucking game behind that. I'm pretty sure they're playing truth or strip by the fireplace.

My god, highschool parties are something else.

"Hey Luis!" some girl waves him over.

He looks back at me and i raise an eyebrow at him, making him smile.

"Sorry Amy!" he calls back, giving a brief wave.

As he should.

We decide to make base in the kitchen.

"Okay, POA guys." Aads claps her hands together.

"POA?" Luis mumbles.

"Plan of action." i whisper.

"I say, we split up. I wanna introduce Dev to some of my party friends since she never comes with me." Aads makes a face at me and i stick my tongue out at her.

"Okay, should we meet back here in like, fifteen minutes?" Jo looks between us.

"Yes." Aadhya agrees.

I look at Lu and catch him already looking at me.

"You gonna be okay?" he mouthes.

I air kiss him, nodding. He smiles before we're both pulled in opposite directions.

Aadhya takes me over to a group of people who are all talking loudly over eachother.

"Wassup bitches!" Aads throws her hands up as she approaches and the whole group cheers.

"This is my bestfriend, Devyn. Dev, everyone." she introduces us.

"Hey Devyn." this blonde haired boy gives me a toothy grin and i smile.

"She's adorable." a girl beside him pouts.

We're the same age?

"Calm down, you guys are gonna scare her off." a dark haired boy with a grey fitted cap on backwards says, glancing at me before looking back down at his phone.

"Oh my god, i have an idea." the girl jumps up, ignoring him. "Let's go do shots!"

Everyone cheers again, before starting to the kitchen.

"I'm gonna... wait here." i mumble, but Aads has already gone.

I press my lips together and turn around, looking like a lost puppy. It's only when i turn around do i realise one other person from the group is still here.

The fitted cap guy is sat on the arm of the couch, rolling a spliff.

Sighing, i walk over to said couch and flopping down on it, which brings the boys attention to me. He stands up very briefly before sitting down beside me, man spreading.

"Hey." he says as he lights the spliff, taking a puff.

"Hi." i play with the ring on my thumb.

He offers me the spliff, but i shake my head. I notice a small smile edge on his lips. He lifts his hips, adjusting himself and our knees touch, but he doesn't move his.

"You one of those pretty girls that don't do drugs?" he looks at me properly for the first time.

He's beautiful.

"No. I just don't like being out of control." i cross my arms and he smiles properly now.

"What about you?" i raise my eyebrows. "Why didn't you go with them?"

"Alcohol tastes like cleaning products and metal." he sniffs.

Fair enough. He's right to be honest.

"Do you go to my school?" i frown a little. I don't think i've ever seen him before.

"Nah, you'd definitely remember me if we'd met sweetheart." he brings the spliff to his lips again.

"Conceited much?" i mumble.

"If that's your way of telling me you think i'm attractive, then thanks." he smirks.

"Ugh you're so obnoxious." i laugh.

The couch moves to the right of me and i turn my head as someone else sits down.

"You two look cosy." Luis looks between us, his face blank.

"Luis Pierce, in the flesh." the boy smiles lazily.

"You gonna introduce me to your friend, Dev?" Lu tilts his head.

"Uh, this is..." shit. I realised i didn't even ask for his name.

"Evan." he takes his hat off, running a hand through his beautiful black hair before replacing the hat.

"Thanks for keeping my girlfriend company, Evan." Luis maintains eye contact with Evan as he speaks.

Evan's eyebrows raise ever so slightly, before he smiles, taking another draw.

"No problem man."

"Excuse us." i smile, taking Luis by the arm and standing us up. I pull him over to the stairs.

"You didn't have to do that Lu." i sigh, running a hand through my hair.

"Didn't i? Because you looked like you were about five seconds away from shoving your tongue down his throat." he looks away from me.

"Are you kidding Pierce? He was literally just being friendly." i laugh.

"Yeah, a little too friendly for my liking."

"Oh my god, get over yourself. Can i not have friends?"

"Not him."

"That's not up to you!"

"Fine!"

Luis raises his arms, taking a step away from me.

"Do whatever you want. Go make out with stoner boy if that makes you happy." he turns away.

"Don't be stupid Lu i--" i take his hand, but he pulls it away, disappearing into the crowd.

Ugh what a prick.

"Devyn!"

Aadhya stumbles over to me, giggling like a little girl.

For god sake.

"How much have you had to drink girl?" i catch her as she loses her balance.

"Like... two? Maybe three?" Aads laughs.

"Maybe twenty." i mumble.

"Dev i love you." she kisses my cheek.

"I love you too Aads." i roll my eyes. "We should probably get you home."

"Nooo." she whines.

"Yes A, you can barely stand."

"Nooo." she whines again.

"Okay, you sit here." i place her down on the sofa behind us. "I'm gonna go find Lu and Josiah."

"Get back safely!" Aads calls to me.

Gosh she needs to be taken home asap.

I scan the crowd until my eyes land on Josiah playing beer pong with a couple girls i don't recognise.

He smiles and waves me over when he notices me approaching.

"Save me." he says through his teeth, still smiling.

I nod.

"Jo! Oh my god, we need to go! Mom just fell down the stairs!" i says, my eyes wide.

"Oh no... let's find the others!" Jo says in a robotic monotonous voice.

God this boy needs acting lessons. I pull him away by his arm.

"Thank you so much." he sighs. "One of those girls just asked me to hook up so we can have lightskin babies."

"Eek." i wince. "Have you seen Luis?"

"Not for a minute actually. He ditched me a while back."

I frown.

"Okay, well, Aads is on the couch. Can you take her outside for me before she confesses her love to more strangers?" i nod in her direction.

"On it, Captain." he salutes and walks over to her.

I push through the crowd, searching for Luis with no such luck.

Just as i pull out my phone to call him, he appears at the top of the stairs, walking down. I push my way to the bottom of them.

"Hey." i smile softly as he reaches the bottom.

Luis glances up, but then quickly diverts his eyes.

"Hey." he mumbles.

"Where were you?" i frown, looking behind him.

"Bathroom." he rubs the back of his neck.

My brows furrow as i try to read his face, but i can't.

"Listen, if you're still mad about that guy-"

"I'm not." he snaps.

I jerk back a little in shock, and his face softens.

"Whatever. Aads needs to go home." i turn around and walk back over to the couch.

Aadhya is laying in Jo's lap, pointing up at the ceiling.

"And there's the north star." she laughs.

"That's a sky lights Aadhya." Jo shakes his head.

"Devyn!" she sits up, a little too fast, rolling off the chair onto the floor.

"Okay, let's get you home." i laugh as Josiah picks her up off the floor.

We guide her through the crowd and out of the front door, a little down the street to where Luis parked.

He's already in the car, the engine running. We help Aads into the back seat and i climb in with her. I'm not in the mood to sit with him right now.

As we pull up to Aadhya's house, i call her sister and ask her to help her in. They're only a year apart like Nik and i, so they're really close.

Her sister thanks us for bringing her back safely and takes her inside as she kisses her cheek repeatedly. She's such a handful when she's drunk.

The car ride from Aadhya's to mine is brief, pretty much silent after Jo has finished filling Luis in on his beer pong trauma.

We pull into my driveway and i quickly unclip myself.

"Thanks." i mumble, pushing the door open.

"Night Dev." Jo smiles at me through his open window.

"Goodnight Jo." i smile back.

I glance at Luis, who's staring straight forward.

"What happened with you two?" i hear Josiah ask as i walk away.

I'd like to know too if i'm honest.
