Cybersick: Rewrite!

Ello! My favorite story out of my old oneshots book was Cybersick, so here it is rewritten! :D
I will also be doing the sequels I had planned but never published :3
Enjoy!
Oh and btw this takes place before the other hermits know Grian and Doc are dating.

(TRIGGER WARNING: Throwing up, coughing blood, other symptoms of illness, and mention of potential death)

Hermitcraft Season 7

~~~
Doc had been feeling awful. He had been sneezing, coughing, sometimes even coughing blood, throwing up, and being generally horribly ill.
The creeper was currently lying in bed, sweating and coughing into his fist, shaking slightly.
Earlier that day, he had called the server admin, Xisuma, who in turn had brought himself and all the hermits who had the time to take care of their ailing friend. The hermits caring for Doc now were Bdubs, Grian, Ren, and X of course. If Stress had been online, she would definitely be there.
Back to the present, Ren sat down on the edge of the bed, next to Doc, who gave his friend a weak smile. "I-I j-just n-noticed we have a-all the s-same people here as th-the m-m-mind control th-thing..." He said, his voice hoarse from coughing. Ren chuckled quietly, but his laugh died off when he looked over Doc's condition again.
Doc felt a hand on his other shoulder, and he turned his head over to see Grian, who was silently offering his friend a glass of water to drink, the harpy's face etched with concern. The cyborg accepted the gift with a quiet "Thank you." He quickly drank, Grian helping him hold the glass before taking it for refill.
Bdubs, passing Grian as he entered the room, examined his friend worriedly. He was somehow sweating and shivering simultaneously. Doc caught his eye and gave him a reassuring- yet weak- smile. Bdubs just frowned, taking the damp towel he had brought and gently resting it on Doc's forehead. Doc sighed, which only made him start coughing up blood again. He then promptly fell unconscious.
Xisuma was currently in the back room, making some medicine, based off information he'd gotten from his commands list.
"X! Hurry up! He's out again!" Ren called.
The admin sighed, finishing up the anti-nausea potion, worried about his cr- his friend.
Stepping into the other room, he looked down, for once, at his fellow hermit.
Doc really wasn't doing so good; his usually emerald green skin was a sickly pale lime, and his wires were pulsing an urgent-looking bright red, if they pulsed at all. Xisuma nervously and wordlessly handed Bdubs the medicine, not taking his eyes off of his unconscious friend. Bdubs and X shared a concerned glance as the former slipped the medicine in his inventory until their patient awoke.
Grian was gently brushing his friend's hair, humming softly.
They all knew Doc might be out for days, he did this often; passing out, sleeping soundly or restlessly for about 50 hours or so, then waking up, still fatigued. The problem was, they didn't know when... Or if... he would wake up, so it was concerning, and quite frankly, a bit scary every time.
Doc suddenly sat up, gasping and shivering violently. By looking over at the balcony, it was a few hours since moonrise. X was sitting quietly in a chair at the foot of Doc's bed, scrolling through admin commands.
"H-how long th-this t-time?" The cyborg asked, rubbing his eyes.
"A week." Xisuma replied calmly.
Doc let out a long shaky exhale, then curled back up under the covers of his pink bed.
Grian walked in, sparing Doc a glance, which was filled with a lot more concern than one would have for a friend, much less a hated rival. The harpy handed X a sandwich, who left with his lunch. Grian then sat in X's place, taking a golden carrot out of his inventory and staring at it vacantly, like he wasn't hungry.
Doc blinked, then rolled onto his side and tried to sleep through the agonizing pain.
X was on guard duty again. Yes, Doc technically didn't need guarding, and if he was in normal condition, he would be offended that they didn't think he could take care of himself, but the important part was that Doc wasn't in normal condition, he certainly couldn't take care of himself, and he was incredibly ill with whatever this was, as well as being incredibly vulnerable.
Xisuma tried to be all tough when Doc was awake, but on the inside, he was panicking like a cat with its tail on fire. Unthinkable thoughts were swirling around in his mind like a mini tornado. What if there's no cure? What if Doc is like this for the rest of his life? What if he's only like this for the rest of his life because he actually dies from this??
His thoughts were interrupted by a loud cough from behind him. When the admin turned, Doc was attempting to stumble out of bed, leaning hard against the wall, his entire body shivering so violently it was a wonder that he was standing at all.
X hastily stood and went to intercept Doc, grabbing his wrist firmly.
Doc growled at him. "I'm j-just getting s-something t-to drink..." He muttered, trying to push past Xisuma. He failed, and instead collapsed into the admin's arms, shaking from exhaustion.
X gave Doc a concerned and pitying look that the hybrid hated. He didn't want pity! He didn't need it! He could take care of himself just fine, if they let him. Sure, he'd asked for help, but he didn't ask for babysitters!
Instead of saying any of these things, and making even more of a fool of himself with his weak, hoarse stutter, he swallowed his pride and let the Void help him back to bed.
He did actually try to get up again, but embarrassingly enough, X could easily pin him down with one hand on Doc's chest and next to no pressure.
The cyborg growled, rolling onto his side stiffy and passing out.
X sat down in his chair again, but he kept looking over his shoulder, watching Doc sleep.
How long will he be out this time?
