| CHAPTER SIXTEEN |

It was summer break.

Time had flew by like a breeze.

Time really does fly when you're having fun.

And like I said, we were at the aquarium.

"This might go well with my posts! On Sekagram aquariums are the top tags for dates!"

"That's cool." Mizuki said.

"Hey you mind if you pretend to be my partner?" Ena said.

"W-what?" Mizuki studdered.

"Cmon Mizuki!" Ena giggled.

"Nene Nene! look were at the aquarium!" Emu screamed.

"Quiet down you're hurting my ears!" Nene covered her ears.

"Wahaha! The mighty Tsukasa Tenma is here!"

"I brought some sunscreen with me just in case anybody needs it." I said.

"Mind if I use it?" Kanade asked with her big cute summer hat.

"Sure." I handed her the sunscreen.

"I haven't been to an aquarium since elementary school." Mafuyu said.

"Hi sissy! Hi sissy's boyfriend!" Haruto said.

"Huh?" Mizuki said.

"Shush Haruto!" I covered his mouth.

"What's the matter? You're always with him." His muffled talking.

"Hi Y/n's mom!" Emu waved.

"Oh, just call me Kuraga."

"Mom isn't that your first name?"

"Yes, but I don't like such proper names."

"Let's go let's go!" Haruto said.

"Okay okay."

"Hey Kanade, isn't that Honami's hat?" Nene asked.

"Oh um, yeah. She let me borrow it for this time since it's hot."

"Oh yes! And I also brought this super-duper wonderful, wondahoi cutey fan!" Emu took out a bright colored mini fan.

"How does it work?" Kanade asked nervously.

"You just press this button!"

"Oh okay."

She pressed the button and the mini fan turned on.

"It works, not bad." Mizuki said.

"Cmon Mizuki let's go I wanna get some photos together!– and you'll be my dating partner for the day!"

"W-wait hold on Ena!" Mizuki yelled.

Ena took Mizuki's hand and ran off.

"Are you okay now, Y/n?" Mafuyu asked.

"Oh, yeah."

"That's good."

Mafuyu smiled for the first time I've ever saw.

I smiled back at her.

"Let's go now, shall we?" Mom smiled with her beaming red lipstick.

"Let's go!" Emu said.

"Tickets for 11 people." Mom said.

"We'll go separately." Mizuki said.

"Oh? Well thank you Mizuki." Mom smiled.

"Well then, tickets for 7."

"OH WOWWWW!!☆"

Emu stared at the big tank with little swimming fish.

"Isn't that a clownfish?" Nene asked Emu.

"Yeah! And I love them haha!!☆"

"I know we'll have a wonderhoy day today!!☆"

"Tsukasa Tenma is as bright and sunny as these fish wahahaha!" Tsukasa posed in front of a colorful big fish.

"You'll embarrass yourself, Tsukasa." Nene giggled as she elbowed Tsukasa's arm.

"Let's take a picture here Mizuki!" Ena grabbed Mizuki's hand and ran towards a fish full tank.

"W-wait hold on!"

"Mafuyu look at the–... fish.." Kanade said as she turned to Mafuyu staring at a tank blankly.

"Um, Mafuyu?"

"Oh— yes Kanade?" Mafuyu said.

"Let's go around and check out the fish." Kanade grabbed Mafuyu's hand.

"Oh, okay."

Mafuyu blushed a little as Kanade took Mafuyu to where Ena and Mizuki were.

"Mom look at that huge fish!" Haruto pointed.

"Oh yes, it is quite big!"

"Sissy look!"

I look at where Haruto was pointing and it was a huge fish.

"Do you know what type that is?"

"Haha, no I don't, Haruto."

"Aww.. but that's okay!"

Haruto is growing so fast.

It felt like a week ago he was just 6 years old.

"Y/n! Me, Nene and Tsukasa are going to go check out the fish on our own! You okay with that?" Emu smiled.

"Oh– why ask me? Of course I don't mind. But just don't get lost okay?"

"Once we're done we can meet up at the center where we can take a break if needed!"

"Thanks."

"Take this map aswell!" Emu slapped a map on my hand and ran off with Nene screaming her to wait.

"Hey.. where's Rui?"

"Right here."

I got spooked.

"Why did you sneak up on me?"

"I didn't, I was here the whole time." Rui chuckled.

"Oh.."

"You and Rui have fun okay? Me and Haruto will go get some ice cream– okay bye!"

"Bye bye sissy!"

"Wait what?"

I stood there confused while holding the map Emu gave me.

"Well then? Let's go have fun like they said."

"Huh?"

"Let's go now!"

Rui took my hand and we ran off somewhere.

We observed the fish while I took some pictures with my phone.

"Um, hello?"

"Oh?" Rui turned around and I did too.

"Hi. I was just wondering if I can take a picture of you guys. You look like you guys you're together– what mean is that you two look like you're dating so I wanna take a picture."

I stood there flustered as a tomato.

Not even a tomato, as red a fresh red radish.

"You wanna take a picture, Y/n?"

"Oh, um. Yeah sure."

"You can take a picture with her phone."

"Oh– I can take it with my Polaroid then give it to you guys, and I can also take a picture with your phone aswell."

"By chance what is your name?"

"I probably won't ever see you guys again but I'm Yumai. I go to Kamiyama High school."

"Kamiyama high school? We go there aswell." Rui spoke for me.

"Oh I knew it! It's Y/n and Rui!"

"I admire you a lot... actually I kinda like you, Y/n..." she murmured.

"Yumai... Hanashi?" I said.

"That's right."

"Aren't you the one who top scored everyone in the finals?" I asked.

"O-oh, about that I'd rather not talk about that I'm quite proud of it but I'm embarrassed to talk about it."

"That's okay, Yumai."

"Oh, and I'm also sorry for you, Y/n."

"What do you mean?"

"You know Yukijina right? She's my friend and I'm sorry for her actions." She sounded truly sorry.

"I stopped being friends with her not too long ago."

"..."

"And I'm sorry I brought a really, really traumatic or scary memory— I just wanted to apologize I'm sorry!"

"It's fine."

"Let's take a picture now, shall we?"

"Ah yes, let's go over here."

Rui held my hand and went to a place behind a tank.

Rui made me stand beside him as he put his hand on my shoulder.

"Smile for the camera!"

I smiled lightly.

"Here's the photos!"

"I also took one with your phone so don't worry!"

She handed me my phone and the Polaroid photos.

"Oh, thanks Yumai."

"Of course! No problem."

Her short black hair with a ribbon in the back looks adorable and cute.

"Mind if one day we get some coffee? With Rui and you of course."

"Oh, sure."

"And..."

She suddenly got really nervous.

"I need to tell you something important there too."

"Why not tell us now?"

"U-um, I have to go actually. Uh— see you later!"

She left within a flash.

"Then finally you'll be mine, Y/n." Yumai hid behind a wall.

"Then you'll leave Rui for me."

"Let's go."

Rui took my hand as we walked around the aquarium.

"Let's go in this water tunnel."

We walked in the bright blue tunnel as it lit up with fishes and sharks, and other animals.

"Woah, would you look at that."

I was blushing.

Because this whole time Rui intertwined his hand with mine.

"Let's take some pictures."

"Rui."

"Hm?"

"Nothing."

"You cold?"

"I mean. It is but–"

"I brought my sweater with me just in case."

He put it around me.

"Let's go now."

I have no idea how many times he has said that but I literally cannot focus right now.

We looked in front of us with some fish swimming around.

One particular fish swam towards me and it looked like it kissed the glass wall.

"It seems it likes you." Rui giggles.

"I don't even know if it's going towards me or you."

Rui chuckled.

I looked to my right to see more fish and sharks around the tunnel.

My eyes widened.

"Yukiji?"

She was holding a map while looking towards me with dead eyes.

"Y/n?" Rui said.

"Oh."

"N/n." She frowned her eyes.

I could feel shivers down my spine behind me.

I looked at Rui to literally see him death staring at Yukiji.

"Um."

I looked back at her.

"Yukiji."

"What do you want. Are you happy after you've ruined my reputation?"

"Yukiji." I walked towards her.

"Yukiji, I'm sorr–"

Before I could've finished my sentence, she slapped me across the face.

"ENOUGH WITH THAT NICKNAME! WE AREN'T LITTLE KIDS ANYMORE YOU UNDERSTAND BITCH?! YOU MAY SHARE BLOOD WITH ME BUT I HATE YOU. I NEVER LIKED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE ANYWAY– I ONLY BECAME FRIENDS WITH YOU, BECAUSE I FELT BAD!"

"Yukijina enough!" Rui caught me before I tripped.

"Oh shut up Rui Kamishiro."

"You may have gone through something harsh aswell– but that never gave you the reason to almost literally KILL Y/n. Your uncle also known as Y/n's dad never had the fault to go into that crash– AND NOR WAS IT Y/N'S FAULT! SO WHAT WAS THE REASON THAT YOU HATED HER SO MUCH BESIDE THAT?"

"I ONLY FELT BAD FOR Y/N! NO ONE WAS THERE FOR HER AND EVERYONE LEFT HER. I WISH I'D NEVER BECOME HER 'FRIEND'. SHE DESERVED THAT FROM THE START AND SHE DESERVES EVERY BAD THING TO HER.

"Yukiji. You're wrong."

"AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO WITH THIS?"

"You envy me don't you?"

"What do you mean?!"

"I understand that, I do. Because I envy you aswell."

"..." Yukijina put down her fist.

"I envied you because you had friends, and everything. You were rich, happy, popular, perfect grades. You were so good at everything. I envied you because you were everything out of my reach."

"Are you trying to comfort me?"

"What?"

"I said, ARE YOU TRYING TO COMFORT ME?"

"I am and I'm trying."

"Because that won't work!"

Yukiji took out her fist.

"Don't you dare."

I looked at where the voice came from.

"Mom?" I whispered.

"Yukijina."

"..."

Yukijina looked scared.

"Rui, N/n, I'll handle this. Go to Emu and them."

Rui nodded and he took my hand.

"So you knew?."

"Your mom told me how it happened."

"I'm sorry for not telling you."

"I don't care about that but."

"But?" Rui looked at me.

"Do you still genuinely care for me?"

"You'd think I'd say no? Of course I do, Y/n." He stopped and looked at me.

"It'll be okay, I promise."

Rui smiled and hugged me.

"Okay."

He was warm and I just wanted to run away from all of my problems.

"Y/nnnnn!!" I hear Emu.

"Emu?"

"Are you alright?! I heard Rui and someone else yelling so I came!"

"I'm... alright."

"No you aren't, you literally got slapped in the face so hard you say you're okay? Let me get a bandage from my bag."

He put me on a nearby bench and Emu sat next to me.

"Nene and Tsukasa are getting ice cream for us."

"Sweets makes everything better right?" Emu smiled but it wasn't like the bright shine she'd always did.

"Right."

"Found a bandage."

Rui walked over to me and kneeled so he can place the bandage on my cheek.

"If you're ever hurt I'll do what I can." Rui smiled.

"Okay."

"Emu, were back."

"Ohh yay!!"

"Here's some ice cream, Y/n." Nene handed me vanilla flavor.

"I didn't know what you liked so I just got you the classic. And what happened?"

"Hm?"

"There's a bandage on your face."

"Oh.."

"Yukijina did it."

"Huh?"

"Mom!"

"Hi hun, I handled it just fine."

"What happened to her?"

"She went home."

"I'm sorry honey."

"Why?"

"I'm sorry that I haven't been the best mother I could, you've been through so much. Just know I love you and Haruto."

"Where did Haruto go?"

"He's with Mizuki and Ena."

"Let's go and take a break. Kanade and Mafuyu texted me that they were there waiting for us."

"You have their number, Nene?"

"They gave it to me earlier just in case emergencies, like for an example, Kanade passing out due to heat."

"Wow."

"Now let's go." Tsukasa smiled.

Emu ate her Strawberry ice cream tayaki while Nene with the chocolate tayaki ice cream.

I ate the ice cream. It was cold but delicious.

During our walk to the center, once again me and Rui were holding hands.

"Sissy!!!" Haruto came running towards me and hugged my leg.

"Hi Haruto, did you have a fun time with Mizuki and Ena?"

"Yeah! They even bought me candy!"

"You sure do love candy, even though your 10 years old you act like your 7." I crouched at Harutos height.

"I may be 10, but I am smarter than I look!" He pouted.

I laughed.

"Sissy what happened?"

"Huh?"

"Your face has a bandage."

"Oh, I just tripped."

"You're very clumsy for your age hah." Haruto mocked.

"Hey!"

Haruto giggled as he ran away and hid behind Ena.

"Want some candy?" Mizuki crouched at his level.

"Sure Mizuki." He took the candy from them.

Mizuki smiled.

"Now let's continue our grand adventure!" Tsukasa proudly said.

"After we take a break of course." Rui said.

"Haruto!"

"Hi mom!"

I sat on a bench as were fishes and sharks swimming above us.

Rui came over and sat beside me.

"It'll be over soon,"

"I promise you." Rui looked at me.

"As you say, Rui." I looked away from him and stared at my friends and family.
