August had dropped me off at home. When I checked the kitchen clock it was five in the morning. I sigh and head back out to the car "can you take me to Bree's I shouldn't bug them this early plus I said I'd be at her place" I explain he nods and I get back in the car. "Listen about earlier" he says awkwardly I shake my head and close my eyes. I pinch the bridge of my nose and sigh "I like you August but I'm in love with Ethan. I'm not saying anything is going to happen between us but right now I'm happy with Ethan so can't be anything more then friends. Okay?" I ask he nods "so we can't even be besties?" he asks I laugh "okay maybe" I say just as he pulls up to Bree's house. "Thanks" I say taking off my shoes I kiss his cheek then get out of the car.

Thankfully the front door was unlocked and I noticed that Jinx's car was in the driveway. I walk up the stairs slowly and walk into Bree's room where she was sitting on the floor with her music blaring. I look at her confused when she picks up her phone. I feel a vibration in my pocket and read her text "Spencer's in Will's room" I gasp then start laughing "no way!" I text back she nods "they're REALLY loud" she explains I nod and point to the music "thank you!" I text her. She nods then puts her phone down and puts her head in her hands.

I shake my head as I walk over to her bed before collapsing on top of it. I text Katy really quickly catching her up on everything that happened at the party. From august trying to kiss me to Grayson's talk and then getting a ride from August. After I'd sent the text I realized just how tired I was. I stretch out and then close my eyes to take a quick nap.

I woke up with a start then realize that Bree's music wasn't on anymore. I glance at my phone and see it's twelve in the afternoon. I quickly grab my stuff and change into my own clothes. I rush down the stairs and see Bree sitting in a chair in the living room while Spencer and Jinx cuddled on the couch "gotta bounce thanks for letting me crash here!" I say she nods I rush out of her front door then jog all the way back to my place.

I find that Grady had Hudson and Toby over and they were playing video games so I crash on his bed "mind if I call Katy?" I ask Grady to give me the thumbs up and I dial her number by memory.

"Girl! Why haven't you texted me back?!"

"Sorry I crashed at my friend's place I didn't even know you texted me"

"ugh well I did. I can't come over to your place this weekend"

"oh right! Um why not?"

"I don't know my parents are taking me to some family event in a couple minutes"

"Alright I'll keep this short then. Well I told you everything in that text basically"

"Right but what about what Grayson said? What are you gonna do?"

"I honestly don't know Katy I mean I thought I was doing everything I could but I guess it's not enough. I mean you know what's going on it's just so frustrating"

"Look girl there's nothing you can do really you're doing your best to keep your relationship and if that's not enough then that's it."

"what do you mean?"

"Some things just aren't meant to last even if you want them to they just don't"

"But I really want this"

"Okay then maybe this just isn't the time. Maybe you'll get back together some time in the future maybe the timing isn't right."

"What if this is the end then?"

"then it's done and over with and there's someone else for you. Like that guy August"

"I don't know about that"

"what? he likes you and you must feel something for him"

"I think I do"

"well there you go"

"But I'm still with Ethan"

"yes for now but if or when you're not he might be your next boyfriend"

"you're right maybe he is. what about you having any boy trouble"

"Well actually I'm texting-" she cuts off and I hear in the background "Katy we have to go"

"is that you mom?"

"Yeah I gotta go I'll tell you about it later"

"aight bye!"

I hang up then groan falling back onto Grady's bed. "You're supposed to be babysitting you know" Grady reminds me "where are they?" I ask not getting up "August is with them in the basement" he replies. I frown getting up "aight when you guys are done you should join us," I say they all laugh "pass" Toby replies. I roll my eyes and leave the room. When I got into the basement the three of them were on the couch watching 90-day finance "seriously girls" I say sitting down next to Giselle "you don't have to watch us you know" Giselle says "I'm twelve now and Gina is thirteen" she says I nod "right so you shouldn't be watching a show that's fourteen plus" I say reaching for the remote. Gina grabs it holding it away from me "but August is fifteen and that's the plus" she explains I shake my head "nice try" I say. "Mom says we can watch it," Gina says I roll my eyes "did she?" I ask pulling out my phone "go ahead ask her she'll say we can" Giselle says. "I'm about to press send" I say typing out my message "really Gwen they're telling the truth your mom said they could watch it when she came down her before she left" August explains. I nod "okay but if I find out later that you three are lying to me you'll be in trouble" I warn them "cross my heart" Gina says. Giselle nods "stick a needle in my eye" she says I smile at her "if you're sure" I say deleting the text. I look down at my phone and wonder if I should text Ethan. I glance at August and then put my phone in my pocket.
