Harry and Draco never really spoke to each other. Half of the time they were barely aware of each other's existence. But Harry knew about Draco and Draco knew about Harry. Harry was mostly with his friends Ron and Hermione while Draco spent his time with Crabbe and Goyle. So you could say they didn't have much time to speak with each other because they had other friends they wanted to be with. One day in Potions, Professor Snape paired the two of them up. They had to work together to make a very difficult antidote. It was a very tricky potion and the two would have to work together on it outside of class.
