Insomnia

Hey guys sorry for not updating for awhile... I was caught up in my reading! X~X So So sorry!!!

(your POV)

I wake up first, and notice Grillby and I are flush against each other, our legs tangled in a leg-hug. I smile, and press my forehead gently to his lips. He murmurs in his sleep. I almost giggle, but I don't. He's so cute when he's asleep! Plus, I kind of feel bad still for embarrassing him last night, so I've got a surprise for him to set up this morning! Unfortunately, it meant un-cuddling from my fluffy cuddleflame.

I slowly, carefully, SOMEHOW get myself out of bed without waking him up. I get dressed in some of his clothes, the smallest ones I could find (they were kind of old), since I only had the one set of clothes, currently dirty. I wore a plaid maroon button up with the sleeves rolled up, and the top button unbuttoned, and some black slacks that were somewhat beat-looking. They were obviously the oldest ones he had. I didn't know where he kept hi jeans if he even had any, and I CERTAINLY didn't want to waste any time right now searching for them. I already had to go on a wild goose chase to  find his cleaning supplies.

When I finally found his cleaning supplies, I got to work. I soon realized I had somehow woken up in the middle of the night, by some miracle! This was the perfect time to start, since Grillby obviously didn't always have time to deep-clean... if by 'didn't always' you meant never. Not that it wasn't clean, it was, it was just in need of a good clean. I start on the tables, making them shine, and making the chairs sparkle. I found some stray cards that had gotten lost, and collected them all, hoping to find the time to put them in the decks they belonged to later.

I cleaned the windows, and stuffed a rag in the bell at the top of the door to keep it from ringing as I went outside to clean the outside of the windows. I pulled the sleeves three quarters of the way down to help me stay warm, but I had been moving around a lot so the cold wasn't really a problem. I finished the windows, and then dusted the lit sign spelling "OPEN". IT was really dusty! I turned it on for a split second, and then turned it off. One of the lights was burnt out. I frowned. I went back to where I found the cleaning supplies, and found ONE LIGHTBULB.

"He better not have any other burnt out lights..." I murmur to myself, as I changed it out. I would have to go shopping soon. I finished changing the lightbulb, and then went inside, re-locking the door and rolling my sleeves back up. I went back through all the tables and booths, cleaning the chairs. I finished with that, and then put all the cleaning supplies all behind the bar. I then took the mop and bucket. I figured Grillby didn't do this often, since it was the most dangerous part of cleaning for him, and the floors could use a good scrubbing. I began mopping, and soon realized it was no use. This floor hadn't been cleaned in too long. I blew a loose strand of hair out of my face, huffing when I realized I would have to scrub on my hands and knees. Good thing I liked cleaning for other people.

I put the mop away, and started with the scrubbing.

Sans POV

I can't sleep. The nightmares are too vivid tonight. I get up out of my bed, and grab my jacket. I head out the door to take a late night walk. I'm just walking around, and then see something flicker from the corner of my eye. I turn to see what it is, extremely wary. I notice (y/n) turn the open sign on, then off, and then go back inside. What's she up to?

I teleport to a nearby tree for a closer look. (y/n) soon comes back out, holding a lightbulb. 'Heh. She must be fixing up the place. It has been awhile since Grillby was last able or confident enough to actually clean it up, since it involves TONS of water.'  I think to myself, chuckling lightly. (y/n) changes the lightbulb, then goes back inside, locking the door. I teleport over to the window to watch her for a minute, see how much she's actually gonna clean. She finishes the sweeping pretty quickly, then grabs the mop.'Heh. It's gonna take more than that, squirt.'  I think, snickering wen it doesn't work. I see her walk out to put the mop away...

And she comes back with scrubbers. I shake my head at her obstinance, when I see her get on the floor and begin scrubbing. The built up grease and grime on the floor comes off, but it's been fifteen minutes and she's not even finished with one floorboard yet! I teleport inside, floating over her head. She looks up surprised, but I put a blue whisp of magic over her mouth to keep her squeak of surprise from waking Grillby.

"Heh. Ye'r never gonna finish that at this rate, squirt. Lemme help ya with that." I say, releasing her mouth and taking the scrubbers and bucket with my magic. I snap, and my Gaster blasters appear beside me. (y/n)'s eyes widen, and I chuckle. "(y/n), get behind me." I say, my eye glowing brighter. She quickly complies, and I put a magic soundproof barrier over Grillby's room. Then I set off the blasters.

(y/n) squeaks, and jumps into my back, clutching my jacket. I jump a little, but I finish with the blasters. I put them on purge mode, efficiently disintegrating all the dirt and grime off the floor, walls, and ceiling. I put my Blasters away, and turn to (y/n). She's staring at the spots where the Gaster Blasters just were. "Can I... see them again?" (y/n) says, her eyes wide.

"Heh heh. I would, but then ya wouldn't have time to finish..." I say, and her hand flies to her mouth. She whips around and runs behind the bar, shouting her thanks. I chuckle once more, then teleport back to bed. It was about 2:00 in the morning, after all.

(y/n POV)

I run behind the bar, calling "Thanks!" over my shoulder. I look over at the fire exit, the door to Grillby's place, and the soundproof barrier is there until Sans is completely gone. I must be quiet again. I turn to the glasses, and pull them all out and set them on the bar, on the right side of the neglected sink. I wash, dry, and shine every glass, then set them on the left side of the sink when I'm done. I think about all I've done so far, and realize I haven't really slept today... oh well. I feel proud of my work, and I finish shining the last glass.

I take the newly shined glasses back to their cupboards, away from the sparkling sink. I organize them by type, tint, and size. There's some larger green tinted ones that are more mug shaped, some small reddish-pink tinted shot glasses, and some average glasses that are tinted blue. I put the green in the left cupboard, the blue in the next 2 cupboards to the right, and the shot glasses in the one next to those on the right. Grillby didn't have man pots and pans, but I cleaned those too, and stacked them from largest to smallest bottom to top.

I clean the stove, then the bar. I finally finish up, and look at my handiwork. It's beautiful, probably close to the way it looked when everything was new. I feel proud tears start to well, and I put away everything I had gotten out. I turn off all the lights, and get back into the nightgown, laying out the clothes I had used to clean for tomorrow. I climb back into bed with Grillby, and fall asleep in his arms.

'I can't wait for tomorrow!'  I think, as I fall asleep, Grillby's arms tightening around me.
