NINE. sometimes i look in her eyes and that's where i find a glimpse of us

OLIVIA NEVER held much of a grudge towards anyone. Not her exes, not even her father. She held had nothing against Belly. If anything she to would get with Belly if she could.

But Melody did tell Olivia that Belly had told the others that she'd been cheated on.

That would've completely pissed her off, but she knew that Belly was drunk and not truly her fault. Jeremiah had been the one to tell her.

"Hey, I'm sorry about yesterday." Belly apologized, "I shouldn't have told anyone anything about you like that."

"It's fine, Belly. You were drunk and you found out through someone I could trust, I guess."

Belly furrowed her brows, "I'm sorry."

"I'll talk to him about it." Olivia said, "Meanwhile, we need waltz partners and we're the only ones without them. So, Belly Conklin, can I have this dance."

It didn't take long for Belly to get into rhythm with Olivia.

"Have you spoken to Jeremiah?" Belly asked.

"Not since last night." She answered, "He actually left me on read this morning. He's been pretty upset since last night. I think it's about his dad leaving early."

That was far from it at this point.

Jeremiah actually confronted Conrad about it.

"What were you guys doing out there anyway?"

"I don't know." Conrad answered, "Just talking."

"About?"

"Don't you have a pool to vacuum?"

Nothing more really came from that conversation. Jeremiah didn't get many answers from Conrad and wouldn't any time soon.

But Conrad and Olivia had done nothing wrong.

Back at practice, Belly had been crushing Olivia's feet with her heels.

"Just take your time Belly." Olivia softly smiled.

"Hey, ladies." Jeremiah smiled, "Mind if I have this dance?"

"Uh... sure. She's all yours." Olivia said.

"I meant with you." Jeremiah said.

Olivia smiled, "Of course you did. I totally knew that."

Melody had finally appeared, taking Belly away from the duo to help her practice.

"You're going to be me in trouble with Paige."

Jeremiah tapped on Steven's shoulder. He swiftly took off his jacket and handed it over.

"How's this?"

"Passable if she doesn't notice the red shorts."

Taking each other's hand, Jeremiah carefully, but swiftly, danced with Olivia across the room.

"Hey, can we talk later?" Olivia asked, "Um, I think important."

"Sure." He smiled, "But first. Hey, Alexa. Play "So Pretty"."

"Don't. This is why I'll get in trouble with Paige."

That didn't stop Jeremiah from breaking away from Olivia and dancing to the new song.

That was quickly stopped by Paige who had returned and kicking Jeremiah out of the room.

After that situation, another arose.

Jeremiah sat with Olivia at the bar as he held a sandwich in his hands.

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Um, are you mad at me?"

Jeremiah furrowed his brows, "What are you talking about?"

"It's just... you seem off." She said, "Did I do something?"

"No, no. I just... it's stupid."

"Can't be that bad, can it?"

He sighed, "I saw you and Conrad at the dock."

"We we're just talking and I was drunk so, it was just two drunk people laughing at nothing really."

"Didn't look like nothing." He muttered.

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing."

"No, no, no, no, no." Olivia said, her eyebrows furrowed, "You know... maybe Taylor was right. Why would a guy like you like a girl like me when Belly is right there. You're already telling her shit that was none of her fucking business anyway."

"What are you talking about?"

"How does someone cheating on me get casually brought up on conversation, Jere?" Olivia sighed, her voice shaking, "Do you like her? Are you with me because I remind you so much of her?"

"Liv, come on."

"When you look at me do you see me? Or is it just Belly?"

"I see you." He said, standing to hold her, but she only backed away.

"That's not true." She cried, "You've been flirting with her since she's gotten here."

"I flirt with everyone!" He exclaimed, "I flirt with you. Hell, I flirt Steven sometimes."

"This is different!"

"How?"

"Because you like her!" She cried, "I know you like her. The way you look at her, the way you talk to her. Shit we use to do."

Neither of them cared if people were staring. This was probably the most drama Cousins would see this summer.

It was so much more than drama though. This was Olivia's breaking point with Jeremiah.

It didn't matter how much she loved him and how safe she felt with him. She was building her wall back up and if he wanted to fuck Belly... he could.

Olivia hadn't never experienced any form of "true love" until she began dating Jeremiah and she wouldn't take that away.

"Liv."

"Maybe I'm the problem." She whispered, "Maybe... it's me. I just wish I knew that this was going to happen before I fell in love with you."

"You're not the problem, Liv." Jeremiah said, taking careful steps, "There's no problem."

Olivia laughed, tears falling down, "You're right. I'm not the problem. I've tried so hard to find someone who would like me, never hurt me the way I am right now, and here I am again... crying over someone who probably didn't give a shit about me."

"I care so much about you, Olivia." Jeremiah said, "I never want to hurt. I love you and I would never want anything bad to us. I was joking with Belly, you know that."

"Obviously I didn't. I've been through this one too many times. I think I know when someone's not into me anymore." Olivia wiped the tears from her face and gently punched Jeremiah's arm, "Tell Belly... tell her that she's really lucky that like you really likes her. Now that we're not together anymore I'm sure she'll make a move."

Olivia couldn't be mad at Belly. It wasn't like Belly made any advances towards Jeremiah while they were together.

Were together... for this first time Olivia had broken up with someone instead of being cheated on. She felt weirdly proud about it.

She turned and left the pool area. She held a small smile on her face and pulled her phone out.

"Hey, mom." She sniffled, "Can you... come get me. Also, I don't think I'm doing the deb anymore."

Jessie Summers didn't hesitate to pick Olivia up from the club. She didn't ask many questions and when Olivia said she wanted to be alone... she left her alone.

Olivia soon found herself in the pool in her backyard. She closed her eyes for a moment as she left her body sink down to the bottom.

She felt... peace. She didn't have to worry about Jeremiah and Belly anymore. If anything, she didn't have to worry about the Fishers anymore, but they had done no wrong.

Jeremiah, in Olivia's eyes, hadn't done much wrong either. She really wanted Jeremiah to admit that he did she Belly when he looked at her. That was the only thing Olivia wanted from that conversation.

She swam back up and wiped her face. The moonlight hitting the pool.

"Heard what happened."

Olivia turned, almost screaming at the voice, "Jesus... what are you doing here?"

"Jeremiah told me you broke up with him."

Olivia deeply sighed and looked back up at Conrad, "Um... yeah."

"Because of Belly?"

"Not really her fault is it?" Olivia asked, "Jeremiah's gonna make her really happy I'm sure."

Olivia pulled herself out of the pool and Conrad handed her a towel.

"What are you really doing here? Don't have... anything better to do than hang out with your brother's ex-girlfriend?"

"No, I don't actually. I wanted to make sure you were okay."

"Hey, at least he didn't cheat on me."

"Curse is broken."

Olivia chuckled softly, "I... I don't feel too sad. I cried for sure, but... I feel relieved almost. Does that make me insane?"

"It makes you human, Liv. People handle things differently." Conrad smiled, "We're good though. Just because you broke up with my brother doesn't mean we have to stop hanging out."

"You seem oddly happy." Olivia said, "What's got you in the good mood? My break up make you happy?"

"Yes, I've been waiting for this day. Just to rub it in Jeremiah's face and let him know that he's a big fucking idiot."

"Maybe I was the fucking idiot. It doesn't matter though. It's over until I find someone who won't cheat on me emotionally or physically."

"I'm really sorry, Liv."

"It's fine. You've done nothing wrong." She said, "But thanks for checking on me. Want to taste test different margaritas my mom made? She said it was the cure to all breakups."

"Sure."

Maybe Olivia was right... She was right. Whenever Jeremiah saw Olivia he could see Belly also.

Maybe Olivia wasn't crazy to break up with Jeremiah because that same night, Jeremiah and Belly had been making out in the pool.

What could've happened if she didn't break up with him? Would he have cheated? Would he push Belly away?

That didn't matter.

Jeremiah and Belly had been making out in the pool.

He didn't see Liv... he only saw Belly.

She just didn't know that when Conrad saw her... he saw her.
