"Y/n oppa!" A familiar voice called out from behind him.

He turned around to find none other than Oh Huiyeon. His best friend ever since their elementary years.

"Hi Huiyeon! You look great!" He said with a smile on his face.

"Thanks oppa...you look good as well" she replied with a slight blush on her face. 

"I'm glad we could hang out again...it's been awhile since we last saw each other" He said while she nodded in response.

"That's true...ever since I debuted I haven't really gotten the time to go out"

"Well...let's make the most out of this day shall we?"

"Sounds like plan oppa!"

Your POV

Oh Huiyeon...We have known each other for a while now. She recently debuted in a group called Lightsum so we haven't really had the chance to hangout lately. This is one of the rare chances where she has a day off and I didn't have anything to do for classes.

"Wanna watch a movie oppa?" She asked me while we were walking side by side.

"Sure...anything good showing?"

"Hmm...let's just see when we get there"

We both just caught up with each other as we were walking towards the nearest cinema available. Doing this again with her made me remember before she became a trainee. Hanging out after school, talking about each other's day's and just spending time with each other.

"Looks like only a romance film is showing..." I said as I looked towards the films that are playing right now.

"Still wanna watch?" I asked her.

"Sure, I don't really mind"

We bought tickets for the film and went inside. I noticed a bunch of the people inside where couples seeing as they were really showing their affection towards each other.

We sat at our seats just as the movie was about to start.

We sat in silence as we watched the movie. I thought it was gonna be some crappy movie with all the cliché scenes but it was actually pretty good.

I looked towards Huiyeon and saw she was really immersed in the movie while occasionally reaching for the popcorn that I held between the both of us which made me smile.

I payed attention to the movie once more and reached for the popcorn when suddenly...like in every cliché romance cinema moment our hands grabbed onto each other.

Both of us widened our eyes in surprise and quickly retracted our hands. Even if I couldn't see her face clearly due to the lack of lighting in here, she probably has the same red tint I have on my face.

Nothing really happened after that and we just enjoyed the movie...

"That was a good movie" I said to her.

She nods in approval and said "Yeah, Especially when he confessed to her! It was so cute! Ahhh! I wanna experience that someday as well."

Seeing her with such a bright smile made me smile as well. She always had that fun and bright aura around her that makes others happy as well.

I didn't notice myself staring at her until she waved her hand in front of my face.

"Oppa...Am I that pretty?" She said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Yeah, you are."

After I said that, her eyes widened for a second before looking away from me. I chuckled at her reaction and asked her if she wanted to go get a drink in which she nods as a reply.

We arrived at a random café that was close by and ordered our drinks.

"How have you been oppa?" She asked.

"I've been good...but I'm kinda in a slump right now." I replied.

"How come?"

"Music project...I have to create a song but recently...I just can't find anything that can motivate me"

"Hmm...Do you have a genre in mind?"

"Well...Not really. I haven't even started anything" I said with a heavy sigh leaving my mouth.

"Oppa...do you have a girlfriend?" She suddenly asked me...

"Why the sudden question?"

"Usually relationships can be a good inspiration for music oppa"

"That's...true but *sigh*...No, I don't. i don't have a girlfriend" I said remembering the last time that I was in a relationship.

Flashback

My last relationship was about 2 years ago. While we were in high school I met her... Kim sohee

She was the first person who made me love that much...She wasn't my first love but she made me hurt much more. Every time I remember her, All the promises and dreams we made together...all those times we said that we won't leave each other...from one of the most happy memories to the most painful.

"Y/n...I'm sorry but I can't do this anymore"

"Sohee...why? What about everything that we promised? All our dreams?"

"I know...but I don't think this will work out...we will work out"

"I understand that our relationship has been rough lately but we can get through this just-"

"Y/n...I need you to understand, we've been arguing almost everyday for the past month! I'm tired repeating the same thing over and over again...you ne-...no, WE need to understand that we aren't meant for each other."

Tears were already falling from both our eyes as we continued to talk.

"But...I don't wanna lose you"

"I know...I don't wanna lose you either but we can't keep doing this."

"I see...but I mean...at least we tried right?"

"We did Y/n...I wish that our ending would have been different but...I guess fate had other plans for us."

"Yeah...it would seem so...I just wish that...I could have been better. I wished that I could have been there whenever you needed me."

"Stop..." she said as she came closer to me. She reacher towards my face and held me cheek. She came closer until our forehead were touching.
"You did enough alright? It's okay...I already forgave you for your faults...I wish you would forgive yourself too"

"I need to go Y/n..."

I couldn't bring myself to talk anymore and just nodded in reply.

"One last hug?" She said with a smile while trying to fight back the tears.

I hugged her one last time...

I held her tight as we both felt our tears overflowing from the emotions that we felt.

After a little while we both let go of each other.

"I love you..." she whispered

"I love you too..." I replied back.

"I...need to go"

Before I even got the chance to notice, a tear fell from my eyes...

"Oppa...have you still not moved on from Sohee unnie?"

"No, it's not that...It's just that I don't wanna be hurt again"
"I loved her so much...I'm afraid that when I fall in love again, I might experience that kind of pain once more"

Her eyes showed worry as she quickly stood up from her seat and came towards mine. She gave me a comforting hug, wrapping her arms around my torso as she laid her head on my chest.

"Don't worry oppa...I'm sure that won't happen again! I'll make sure that you won't feel that way again. And if by chance that it does...I'll have a word with her and lecture her about how great you are as a person and as a boyfriend!"

You couldn't help but chuckle at your bestfriend's antics as you enjoyed the feeling of her head on your chest.

"You're still an idol huiyeon...you can't do that. It's gonna ruin your reputation."

"Hmm? No, If my best friend needs me then I'm going to be there for him" she said while looking up at me still hugging me.

Even though only half of her face is visible due to the mask...I could clearly see her bright smile from her eyes.

I don't know why but I felt as if I was nervous...my heart was beating faster and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

It was just like...that time.

"Are you good now oppa?"

"Yeah...thanks to you"

She smiled once again and sat back down on her seat.

"I hope you finish the song soon oppa! I wanna know what you can do!"

"Hahah...I just hope that it would get me a good grade"

"Oh come on oppa! Don't say that! I know that you have a great voice and musical talent! I'm sure that whatever you would make will be getting the highest possible score"

"Thanks Huiyeon..." I said. Grateful that I have a friend like her who will always support me through anything.

"Sorry oppa, I need to take this"

"Yujeong unnie! Hello?"

"Meeting? I thought we had a day off?"

"You need to go?" I asked her

"Yeah...apparently our company called for us today. Urgent meeting" she said with a gloomy tone on her voice.

"Hey, it's alright...we could hang out another day.

She nodded and said

"I know oppa but...I was just really looking forward to this. I don't wanna cut this short."

"I was too but your career needs to come first! Ok? If you ever need me I'll always be here."

"Ok oppa...My manager is about to pick me up soon."

"Alright...I'll head out first then. Stay safe alright?"

"Of course! Stay safe as well oppa" she replied, removing her mask to show me her beautiful smile.

And with that, I left and went back to my house.

I finally arrived back in my place and immediately went towards my room. I fell face first on my bed and recalled the events of today.

'The last time I felt like that was when I was still with Sohee...Am I possibly falling in love with Huiyeon?'

A few days have past since I last met with Huiyeon. We still talked through chat but I've been craving to see her lately. I also have been thinking about her constantly recently.

'What's wrong with me? I've never been like this before, not even with my ex. Am I really falling for her?'

I messed with my hair in slight frustration. I couldn't stop thinking about her which led to me haven't been able to finish my song.

I sat in silence for a few minutes until a thought popped up.

"What if I make the song about her..." I silently whispered to myself.

Deciding that was the best course to take, I grabbed my guitar, a notebook and just play.

I spent the night writing lyrics that came to mind while also thinking of the chords to go with it.

My mind wandered through all the memories I have with her. It made my heart flutter just remembering it. Even though until recently I only saw her as a friend, maybe my feelings for her were always there. It was just lying dormant waiting to be awoken.

I thought of all these thing as I wrote the final lines to finish my song.

I know now I found the one I love...

'I guess I am in love' I thought as a smile formed on my face.

After that I spent the rest of the week fixing certain lyrics or adjusting the chords to fit the song perfectly.

"I finally finished" I said as I just got done recording the vocals for the song.

I made sure to check the recording once again and after double even triple checking, I sent it to my professor.

A sigh escaped my lips as I said "Finally, I can relax".

I checked on who messaged me and saw it was her.

"Hi oppa, how are you?" It read.

My lips curled into a smile as It was another chance to talk to her again.

"I'm doing fine, you?"

"Tired...Just got off practice"

"Be sure to rest later then"

"Of course, so have you finished the song yet?"

"Yeah, I just passed it earlier."

"Can I hear it?"

It was at this moment that I felt extremely nervous...I mean what if she asks who I'm talking about in the song. I can't just tell her the song is about her.

"You can't :p"

"But why??"

"Just cause...It's better if you would hear it live"

"Ohh? Are you gonna sing for me?"

"Hmm, maybe? I'm not sure yet"

"Such a tease...I'm curious about the song now."

"You'll probably hear it soon. Anyways, doing something cool soon?

"Were going to perform for a university event soon. Although I'm not sure which one yet."

"That's cool, I wish to see you perform live too"

"I could always let you watch our performances you know?"

"Yeah but our schedules never align"

"This is about your song...I want you to perform it at the upcoming music event in our school."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing...since I wanted to pursue a career in music, I would never pass on an opportunity like this.

"I'd be happy to!" I exclaimed making him smile.

"Good, you'll be performing near the end of the event. I'll talk to you soon for more details."

"Understood"

"You can go now. I expect the best performance from you"

"Of course"

After that exchange, I went back to my place in an extremely good mood. I whipped out my phone and opened my messages with Huiyeon.

"Hey, I got great news!"

After a few minutes of waiting she replied.

"Hey oppa, what is it?"

"I'm gonna be performing at our school event"

"Really?? That's great!"

Although I don't have any intentions on being an idol. I always wanted to become a producer or song writer maybe even just a singer.

"Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to it!"

"When is it? If I'm free, I might wanna watch"

"I don't know yet but I'll be sure to inform you as soon as I find out"

"Alright oppa! Anyways sorry to cut this short but we still have practice"

It's time for our school's music event. I heard that someone famous is gonna perform after the students but I don't know who yet. My performance is at the end with the school dance at night so I still have time to kill.

"Maybe I can talk to her" I mumbled.

"Hey, How are you?"

"Hi oppa! I'm excited! We're gonna perform later so I'm looking forward to that."

"Just curious...what school are you guys performing at?"

"It's {insert school name}. Why?"

"Uhh...That's my university, you know?"

"Wait really??"

"Yeah! Hahaha how come we didn't notice with the schedule"

"Well, At least now I know who's gonna be performing."

"About that...My performance is at the dance towards the end. Think you'll stay until the night?"

Who knew it was the same school...maybe it was obvious and I'm just dumb...well never mind that. Might as well enjoy the upcoming performances.

Mini Timeskip

Last student just finished performing their cover meaning that It's Huiyeon's group next.

"Everyone! Thank you for such a wonderful and successful event today! We can see all the hard work and dedication you put for this. Now, We have invited a special guest performance! Who do you think it is?"

I could hear students shouting out different groups like Twice, Blackpink, BTS and some rookie groups as well.

"Well I'm not gonna stretch this further! Everyone welcome LIGHTSUM!!!"

Loud cheers filled the school as they made their entrance. Well I'm also cheering for then but that's not the point. They went on and performed their debut song "Vanilla" which got the crowd of students dancing and singing with them.

After that is they performed their newest release "Vivace" which I personally liked more than "vanilla" but both are still bangers. (Honestly though, check them out if you haven't)

I watched them perform their song...well I kept an eye on Huiyeon as well. She was really good at dancing and even though she doesn't have the most parts in the song, I really liked it when she's the one to sing. She looked to be having fun on stage as she was all smiles while dancing. I couldn't help but smile myself as I watch her live out her dream.

Watching her on stage, made me realize how much we've been through. I've known her since we were still kids and now she's an idol. It made me think of the future, how it would be if she isn't there. If she just so happens to fall in love with someone else. If I don't tell her my feeling now...before it's too late, I'll probably regret that decision for life.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Give it up for LIGHTSUM!!!"

Once again, cheers filled the school as they made their exits. I looked up at the setting sun, hoping whatever I plan on doing later on would work.

The sun has finally settled and the moon was now visible for everyone to see. People are partying left and right, dancing, laughing and just having a great time. Suddenly the lights dim out and the loud music transitioned into silence.

"I hope everyone's having a great time today!"

"YEAH!!!!"

"Well, we've been partying since the morning so how about we slow it down a bit!"
"Someone has prepared a performance for us tonight! Give it up for...Y/n!!!"

Loud cheers rang out as I made my way up the stage. I sat down an a stool and got ready. The lights now shined on me as they await my performance.

"The song I'll be performing tonight is a special one. This is an original song and I hope you all like it"

I look towards the crowd, seeing them dancing with their partners. Holding them close as they enjoyed the moment.

I looked towards the back as I saw Huiyeon standing with a smile on her face. I smiled back as I sang the chorus.

I finished singing as the crowd cheered for me. I smiled and looked at Huiyeon only to find she wasn't there anymore.

I made my way down the stage, ignoring the praise I got from my fellow schoolmates to find her.

After minutes of searching, I saw her sitting on a bench with her hands on her face.

"Hey..." I said as I slowly approached her.

"What's wrong?" I wrapped my arms around her shoulder as she leaned on me. Crying harder then before.

"There there, I'm here...just let it all out"

It pained me to see her cry. It was a scene that I never wanted to see again. I embraced her in my arms hoping to bring some kind of comfort to her.

After a few minutes she finally calmed down.

"I'm sorry you got to see me like that oppa"

"It's fine, I'm always here for you"

"I know" she replied with a smile.

"....you" she mumbled something which I couldn't catch.

"What was that?"

She took a deep breath as she said something I didn't expect.

"I said...That's why I fell for you..."

Shock was the only thing I felt at that time. I didn't expect she felt the same way I did. I was about to speak until she cut me off.

"I...fell for you, but it seems as though you already have someone in mind. That song...was for the one you like right? I know you can't make a song like that just from imagining it. So it would mean that you really found someone to love."
"I'm jealous...of that person. I want to be her. I want to be the one you're offering that song to. I want to be with you. I...I can't wait any longer. I already gave you up once...I let sohee unnie be with you already...Now I want to be selfish oppa. Why can't it just be me?"

I was speechless...she was holding this in for a long time. I stayed silent as I thought of what to say.

"You don't feel the same way don't you? It's fine, I'm always you're bestfriend and that won't change! I'll still gonna be here for you...even if you love some-" I cut her off with an embrace.

She cried again as she tried to get free.

"Why can't it just be me? I've been with you for a long time! How come you haven't seen me that way?"

"I never said it wasn't you huiyeon..."

She stared at me wide-eyed, as she couldn't believe what I just said.

"What?"

"I never said the song wasn't for you"

"I...don't understand"

"That song...was for you. You're the one I love. After years of fearing heartbreak...I finally felt in love again...and It's you. I fell in love with you"

"So...you feel the same way?"

"I do...so stop crying already please. It makes me feel bad."

I smiled at her as I looked into her eyes.

Tears fell from her eyes once again as she showed me her brightest smile. Her tears now caused by happiness instead of pain. It was nice to see she was back to her usual self.

I wrapped my arms around her, as she leaned towards my shoulder. We spent the night just talking and enjoying each other's company as we both know that
