Race day
Landry's POV

"Landry honey wake up." Chase says softly rubbing my shoulder.

"Ah go on I'll be out up in time for pre race ceremonies, I don't have to wake up yet." I groaned.

"Is how it's going to be until you can drive again?" He laughed.

"I don't know but I'm getting up I wanna get to hang out with you and see some pit lizards first hand all morning and flash my ring at people all kinds of crap I never got to do before. Oh and also if I haven't mentioned it thousands of times before you look HOT in your firesuit." I explained to him as I got of of bed and started grabbing my clothes.

"Well then today should be very interesting. I'm probably going to get to laugh a whole lot today aren't I? Also you look beautiful in my tee shirt but your not allowed to wear it in public." He's still just in his compression shirt and underwear and probably will be until I'm ready to go so he doesn't have to sit around in his firesuit.

"Yeah you are going to get to laugh a lot when don't you when my crazy self is around?" I say and make a face at him before running into the bathroom.

"Your awfully strange woman." He says to himself.

"Heard that and it's the truth!" I screamed. Before taking my shower and getting ready. I fishtail braided my hair and left a few pieces out in the front before exiting the bathroom and putting on some black converses. Amanda and Brittany had wanted me to get these weird looking heels that I'd break my neck wearing but I refused and they laughed and we went on with our life's. As I was putting on my shoes Chase went and got his firesuit and put it on. I stopped him however before he could zip it up and did that for him and then kissed him and grabbed my phone and put it in my back pocket.

"That's all I get?" He asks confused.

"Yes sir we have places to go." I replied before heading towards the kitchen grabbing a breakfast bar and my sunglasses and sitting at the bar.

"Well then we'll just have to talk about this later," He joked grabbing his hat and put his sunglasses on top of it. "As for now as you said we have places to go."

"Well then lets go. Time to break hearts and win a race." I stated walking out the door behind Chase.

Chase's POV

As soon as Landry announced she was going with me to 'flash her ring at pit lizards' I think is how she put it I knew she was in a good mood. I know she was kidding because most my fans like her. Her dad is her car owner so he talked to Mr. Hendrick and she's kinda like how Ryan is with Penske.

"So what all are we doing this fine morning. I know Andie scheduled me a signing at 11:25 and I think we're both going to that." Landry says interrupting my train of thought.

"I have one with Dale in 15 minutes then I'm just going to the garage until our and we can eat lunch after that then the race starts at three so I guess we can just hang out." I say.

Right now we're looking for a golf cart and just walking towards where Dale and I were supposed to go Landry's a woman with a plan and she keeps sharpies on her at all times. I mean at least two or three. Usually I'm her bag but today she put them in her back pocket, because she didn't feel like carrying her bag with her. She just put money in the back of her phone case and all her ID stuff.

"Hey Andie." Landry says as her friend/PR pulled up on her golf cart. Landry gives her a funny look. Then she says "I'm not even going to ask how you got Bubba to give up the golf cart he told me he was taking everywhere."

"Yeah well I was also in on the bet about you trying to drive your car today so I came to make sure you weren't already in your firesuit. Which your not and also do you guys need a ride?" Andie tells us then asked the question I was waiting on her to ask.

"Y'all have like zero faith in me you and Bubba both. Yes we'll take a ride. I'm not risking hurting myself I'm telling you guys I mean it." Landry mutters climbing onto the back I sat next to her.

"Bubba's the one you gotta talk to Ryan, Andie, and I bet him 5 dollars a piece you wouldn't race this weekend." I explained and grabbed her hand. She smiled and we were soon at the plaza where I was supposed to sign stuff with Dale. He was already here in his Mountain Dew firesuit and Amy was with him.

"Hey I'll be right there I'm going to talk to Andie about something for a minute." Landry said as we hopped off the golf cart.

"Okay I'll be right there with Dale and Amy."

Landry's POV

"Hey sorry I kinda snapped back there and just assumed you bet with Bubba." I told Andie as I stood next to the drivers seat of the golf cart.

"I understand it's fine there's been much worse talking to me in my past. Trust me you wouldn't want to be some people's PR but Landry your my friend and I know how you are that didn't bother me now go hang out with your fiancé and the Earndhart's." She laughed and waved before backing away and probably going to find Darrell. That's right until I talk to him next time he's Darrell. I'm not really mad it's just he's the one who was telling me not to even consider driving. Whatever.

"Hey guys how's your morning been so far? I asked as I walked up to where the group of my friends were standing.

            "It's been good Sutton Jr. How's that wrist?" Dale asked.

             "Could be better. I'd rather be in my firesuit but I've got Clyde to worry about for now." I answered and winked at Chase.

              "Are y'all sure you haven't known each other forever or something?" Amy joked before mentioning, "I love your outfit Landry."

Amy's outfit

              "Thanks Amy I like your outfit too." I complimented her back. Then people started showing up at first me and Amy hung back some just talking and hanging out. The we just causally made our way up and ended up signing autographs and taking pictures too. That lasted about an hour until it was time for me and Chase to go the fan zone. We said our goodbyes to the Earndhart's. Andie was sitting there in the golf cart playing on her phone when we left.

           "Alright Andie let's go sista!" I hollered jumping on the golf cart.

Skip to pre-race

It's finally time for the race to start and Chase was standing beside his car.

"I love you I know your going to do wonderful and you don't even have to worry about me beating you." I say smirking.

"Your real funny. I love you too L."

"I know I'm funny but really good luck. You've got a race to win." I laughed and we kissed before he climbed in the car and handed me his hat and sunglasses. I handed him his helmet and climbed into the pit box.

3rd person POV

Lap 25: Suarez got lose and hit McMurray they're both out for the day but okay. Chase starts back 5th, Ryan 7th, Bubba 12th.

End of stage 1:Larson won stage one which I'm not surprised he's been really good all year. Chase 2nd, Ryan 6th, Bubba 8th.

End of stage 2: Chase Elliott wins stage two! Ryan 3rd, and Bubba 7th

Last lap:Chase and Ryan battle for 1st! And Chase Elliott wins at Bristol! Ryan came in 2nd and Bubba fifth. Which would mean Landry's in the Chase because she has more points than McMurray because he didn't finish. Whoever is in her car next week is going to have to work hard to make sure she stays in contention.

Landry's POV

I jumped up so fast and climbed down the latter from the pit box faster than I ever had before. Two weekends in a row! That's my man! I hurried to Victory lane as fast I could without jogging or running. I'm so happy I get to go straight there and unlike last weekend I'm not sweating and gross or late like the other times when I do my interviews and then go. I'm going to look good for pictures and everything for once. These are going on the Christmas cards. Believe it or not I actually do care about how I look in pictures. I care a lot. That's totally besides the point right now though because Chase is pulling in. As soon as the car turns off I'm at the window with his hat.

"Way to go Clyde. I love you." I say before hugging him and going so I don't get Gatorade or anything else all over me because I know it's coming. I watched as they interviewed him and then it was finally time for pictures. We stood in front of the car and posed for several pictures. When all the chaos died down we went to the motor home to get ready then we were going to ride the Hendrick plane back to Charlotte to my house. We packed up quickly and Andie promised to drive my Jeep safely back to Charlotte she had rode down with Chase's PR. Chase drove us to the airport where we dropped off his rental truck and then we go on the plane. Dad called to tell me one of his friends invited him to go on a fishing trip so Chase and I would have the house to ourselves for the week. Which probably means a lot of video games and pizza. This should be fun.

So I'm going to do a like 2 week skip and that should be interesting so be prepared. I've been sick all week so I have really been doing anything so this chapter was finished on Thursday I just have to remember to update on Sunday or maybe double update? Could happen if it does the next chapter is going to be shorter it might be anyway because I'm really trying to get to a certain point because I'm ready for Landry to race again and everything else I have prepared I won't discuss 😉. Thanks for reading my book although I'm sure it's a mess.
