The evening had finally met silence. Just the two of them laying in the tall grass of the meadow. The sun was high in the sky, getting lower every minute, and the breeze was blowing quietly. Occasionally, a cloud or two would pass over and block the light but regardless of that, the weather was beyond beautiful.
  As the sound of the forest reached their ears, they knew the day was special. They knew it because they were finally together, free from the over ruled town they had just run from. Basking on nature was like a victory cry. The beginning words of a new chapter.
  "Aria." He hummed, gently caressing the small girl's hair.
  Yeah?" The girl, Aria, sat up as her friend brushed her head with his finger.
  "What do we do now?"
  Aria stays silent for a moment, turning to look at the distant forest. She thought for a good long minute before letting out a shaky sigh.
  "I'm not sure, Benji. Life's full of surprises.." She explained, crossing her legs underneath her as she spoke. With a small smile, she turned to look at her giant companion. "What do you think we should do?"
  It was now Benji's turn to think and it took him a little longer than Aria. His silence was slightly concerning, but sure enough, he propped himself up with an arm, turning his gaze towards Aria before opening his mouth to speak.
  "I think.. we should just go with the flow.. Maybe. If life's full of surprises, then what should we prepare for? Probably the worst.. but we shouldn't worry about it, right?" His voice became rushed after the first few seconds of him talking. Aria just laughed a little causing Benji's brow to furrow.
  "You say shouldn't worry, but you're worrying right now." She snickered for a second longer before smiling up at the now silent Benji. "We should definitely go with the flow but prepare ourselves for the worst and not worry about anything. Don't overthink it. Things will be fine."
  Benji hesitantly nodded before sitting up and gently scooping Aria into his hand. She didn't even flinch at his sudden movement, instead, she just steadied herself as the force of the wind hit her face.
  "I'm just scared that something would happen to you.. I don't think I would survive a day if I lost you to them or something else.." Benji started, his eyes barely able to reach Aria's.
  Her face softened a bit as she stood up. She stood at the edge of his palm and stared straight into his eyes.
  "Look at me Benjamin." She spoke firmly gaining his attention nearly instantly. She smiled softly as she spoke. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise."
  With that, she leaned forward as did Benji, and as gently and lovingly possible, the two kissed. The weight of the world seemed to disappear along with everything else around them. It was just Aria and Benji.. alone in the world only having each other to rely on.
After a few moments, they pulled away from each other, both smiling brightly.
"I love you." Benji whispered softly.
"I love you too."
