A/N - ~Parceltongue~

Harry's POV

I walked through the corridors as quickly as I could, as I only had 3 minutes to get to the other side of the castle. As I was walking past the statue of the one-eyed witch, an idea came to me. I remembered how, last year - when I was not-so-subtly trying to avoid Ron and Hermione - went down to the Chamber of Secrets. I had found a map on a wall. It turns out the chamber wasn't the only thing Parselmouths could unlock: there was also a network of tunnels. I remembered there was one near the one-eyed witch that lead a couple of corridors away from the headmaster's office.

I leant my forehead against the wall.

"~Open~"

The wall seemed to almost melt away. I stepped into the seemingly empty space, walked a couple of steps and I was on the other side, opposite a picture of the four founders. As the almost liquid wall solidified, I walked a couple of steps only to be met with the man himself: Dumbledore.

"Harry! I was hoping I'd get to my office before you, I didn't think I'd see you on the way here."

"Hello Professor." I said in a calm, almost monotone voice.

We made our way to the stone gargoyle in silence.

"Lemon drop." Dumbledore said.

The gargoyle rotated, revealing the stone staircase. Dumbledore stepped onto the second step, and I stepped onto the 4th. Once again, there was silence. As we stepped into the office, he offered me one of those horrid sweets he always has.

"Now Harry, I expect you are wondering why I called you in here today."

I nodded my head, trying to look eager.

"Well, Tom Riddle tried a peice of very dark magic when he left school. He may have even performed it beforehand, while he was in school. I say, Harry, have you ever heard of a horcrux?"

"No, Sir."

"It is a peice of very dark magic, where you tear your soul in half. If you create more than one, you would eventually go insane."

"Voldemort make one, didn't he?"

"I believe there to be six."

"So... he split his soul six times? Surely that means he barely has any soul left!" I said, trying to be enthusiastic.

"Indeed. You remember last time we met, we saw how I met Tom, yes?"

"Yes Sir."

"Today, we are going to see another memory, this time given to me by Horace Slughorn. Into the pensive, Harry."

I watched as Dumbledore tipped the contents of a crystal vial. I walked over to the pensive, and stuck my head in the liquid.

Memory

We watched as Professer Slughorn rose out of his seat.

"Now, now, boys, it's nearly lights out! Wouldn't want Mr. Pringle to find you and give you detention, now."

All of the boys left, leaving only Tom and Slughorn in the room. Slughorn looked up.

"Run along, Tom. And thank you for the pineapple, you're right, it is my favourite!" Said Slughorn joyfully.

"You are welcome, Sir. I wanted to ask you something. The other professors, they just, wouldn't understand." Said Tom in his calm, monotone manner. Slughorn looked confused.

"I was in the restricted section the other day, and I came across a peice of very, rare piece of magic. I say, Sir, have you ever heard of a horcrux?"

Slughorn looked alarmed, unsurprisingly.

"I'm sorry Tom, I have no idea what you are talking about." Slughorn rushed out.

"Hurry along, now, and go to bed."

End of memory

I took my head out of the pensive, and looked at Dumbledore.

"It seems tampered with, doesn't it Harry?" Dumbledore said calmly. I nodded in response.

"That's because it is. Slughorn tampered with it. I have a homework for you Harry. I want you to get the untamperd memory from Slughorn. Take whatever means nessercery, just don't hurt anyone, obviously. Run along now, Harry."

I nodded at him, and turned on my heel, walking out the door in haste.
