CHAPTER 17

I look at Ruchi from behind his shoulder, she signals me two thumbs up and nods her head. She is giving me confidence. I look at his face again, I felt a pang of guilt but I quickly pushed the guilt at the back of my head. I squeezed my eyes tight and place my lips over his.

As our lips met I felt something strange, I had expected the whole thing to feel disgusting like I always feel while watching in the movies, but strangely I didn't.

Since, it was first time for both of us we were really sloppy. We continued to kiss for a while, I wanted to pull back but didn't want to either. I didn't understand this feeling.

I freeze when I hear footsteps, Riad is too lost in kissing me that he doesn't stop. I open my eyes and Ruchi looks at me frightened, someone is coming up at the terrace. Shit! What do I do now? What if its Adnan? I panicked. I pushed Riad, he is taken aback. I looked around, and quickly start to mess up my hair

'What are you doing?' Riad asks shocked. I smudged my mascara and lip gloss. I then yanked my sleeves and Riad's eyes widen.

I see Adnan come, he looks at us confused and then shocked. I made a crying face and ran to him hugging him tight.

'Bhai!' I say crying. Adnan is shocked and looks at Riad and then back at me. He separates our frames and looks at me, from top to bottom and is shocked to see my disheveled look. My swollen lips, smudged mascara, messed up hair and torn sleeves, he looks up at Riad.

'Bhai.... Riad called me up...and....' I cried. Adnan's fists his fingers tightly; I see his knuckle turn white.

Riad is stunned, there is silence from his side. Adnan charges towards him and grabs his collar

'You *****... (I close my eyes as Adnan punches Riad right in his guts) how dare you? With my sister...******* I won't spare you....' Adnan continues to beat him black and blue, all the while cursing him. I feel guilty, like the biggest sinner as I watch Riad silently taking all the blows, his eyes fixed at me. I see pain in them, the pain that is not because of the bashing.

That eyes...that look, still haunts me at times in the night.
