Chapter 4

Denki once again sneaks in the school to the bathroom and then to the common room. It gets easier every time he does it. He starts jogging to his room, not expecting anyone up or out of the dorms. Reaching his door, relieving a sigh he hears a voice behind. All the stress he just breathed out with a sigh he inhaled again. He froze in his place, his hand on his door handle.

"Kaminari, where have you been?" The grumpy voice echoed through the hallway, Aizawa sensei stood behind the blonde with his arm crossed. Denki turned around facing his teacher, and he had big regrets. The grumpy voice now has an angry face matching his mood, which wasn't a good sign.

"Ah, sensei. Hi, I... Uhm... I needed to go to the toilet, I'm sorry." The blonde nervously scratched the back of his neck. He looked to the ground, he couldn't face the angry eyes Aizawa shared.

"You needed to go to the toilet for," Aizawa looks at his watch, "2 hours and 17 minutes?"

"Haha, no no no, you got it all wrong. I uh was in my room when it was dinner time." Denki looked up to see the unbelieving look Aizawa gave.

"Jiro went to look and you weren't there."

"Oh d-did I s-say my room, I mean Shinso's room."

"Shinso didn't know where you were."

"Fuck uhmm" Denki tried to come up with another lie, but his brain worked against him. He was out of options, he couldn't make up another lie.

"Kaminari. I want an honest answer, where were you?"

"Okay, I was at work. because I need the money. Since we have school, I am also unable to work before 4 PM. So I work from 4 to 10, but it's not a huge problem because it'll just be until my birthday! I want to throw this party, and I've planned it all out, and then my friends will come and we'll have a good time. I'm sorry I slept in class, but I'm doing my very best with my schoolwork. I really need the money because I'd really like to hold this large party and celebrate it well. And this is the best action to take, right? I'll return to working exclusively on weekends after my anniversary, but for now, I need the extra money." Denki talked endlessly and uncontrollably. What if Aizawa put him in detention right now, keeping him from celebrating his birthday?

"Okay, enough of that, when are you going to celebrate your birthday?" The blond sensed an unreasonable fear for his homeroom teacher. "Tomorrow after school." The blonde trembled, yet Aizawa's gaze remained flat.

"You will have detention for coming back after curfew, we take the curfew really seriously and it's dangerous to come back after curfew. Next week, on Monday and Tuesday, I want you in the classroom after school."

"Alright, I agree; thank you again, Sensei. I'm aware that it was unsafe and I promise this only for a short time, and it won't happen again. I'm terribly sorry you had to wait until I returned. As our teacher and a hero, you already carry a huge responsibility. It must be incredibly exhausting, and I only managed to make it even worse. Uh shit, What I meant to say is that I'm sorry. Unfortunately I can not talk to you any further, due to the test that has been assigned to me." Denki bowed down and then swung his door open.

The moment the door closed, he began to cry. not because of unpleasant feelings like rage or fear. There were tears of relief. Even a hint of joy could be seen in his tears. And without further ado, he began his test preparation.

Kaminari put a lot of effort into his studies, which once more disturbed his sleep. He jumped into bed as soon as he was satisfied with his preparation and quickly fell asleep.

...

The following morning, Denki's alarm went off loudly in the hopes that the blonde would awaken quickly. The blonde groaned as he shut his alarm off and stumbled out of bed. The blonde slept for a total of less than three hours, which didn't improve his appearance. Kaminari staggered to the restroom and went through the typical morning ritual.

As for breakfast he got, I'm kidding he doesnt eat in the morning, but he did drink an energy drink for additional energy.

A boy with green hair approached him as he consumed his 'breakfast'. "Good morning How are you doing, Denki?"

"Oh hi Izu, I'm doing alright." Izuku flashed the blonde a soft smile despite knowing that the phrase "being alright" had a deeper meaning. The boy with green hair lowered his head and glanced at his phone seeing the time. He quickly dragged the blonde to the common area after noticing the hour was a little later than expected. The two boys were incredibly thankful to see the friend group still waiting by the door.

They left after their brief conversations to appear in the classroom on time.

...

"Okay now that everyone is here we will start the test. You have 45 minutes to finish the test. Good luck." Aizawa says, handing out the papers.

Denki looked over the paper and discovered that he knew the majority of the answers; everything was going smoothly until the reading questions. It was a story, and then you had to give answers about the subject of the given text. Unfortunately, the blonde just recently discovered he is dyslexic, so this was an extremely difficult task for him. He moved on to the other questions after 10 minutes, skipping the entire page of text-related questions. He breezed through the remainder of the exam. He returned to the text paragraph near the end to try to figure out some of the questions, but he ended up answering them randomly.

"Okay times up, please come to the desk where I will be collecting the test." Aizawa says.

Everyone gave the test to Aizawa, and the teacher will scan through the tests every time. It was now Kaminari's turn. He waited, nervously. As Aizawa scanned the test, he noticed that almost everything was correct. However, when he is given the answers for the text paragraph, he notices that everything is incorrect. Aizwa nodded for Denki to leave, not wanting him to be concerned about this test, knowing how hard he worked upon this.

Izuku went to chat to his blonde friend about the test after class. "How did your test go, then?" Izuku asked his friend. "Except for the text paragraph, everything went as planned. Though the text part was unreadable, I answered randomly on those questions." Knowing what Izuku was about to say, Denki glanced up as he met his eyes.

"You didn't disclose your dyslexia to Mr. Aizawa, did you? You promised to carry it out." Izuku gave his friend a stern look as he couldn't believe the blonde hadn't told the teacher such a crucial detail.

"Oh please Izu, stop staring at me like that. It's difficult to just approach our homeroom teacher and say, "Hello, Mr. Aizawa. Besides the fact that I've been sneaking out to work till 10 PM, I would also like to let you know that I have been given a dyslexia and ADHD diagnosis." Kaminari retorted angrily.

"You've been diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD?" Someone queries.

When Denki looks around, Aizawa is looking perplexed. It's a joke, I repeat, a joke, haha." Kaminari feigned amusement. He murmured beneath his breath, "Shit."

"Why didn't you inform me about this sooner, Kaminari? Me having this information can really benefit you on this test; I'll see what I can do to help."

"What no, there's no need for that."

"Yes, Kaminari, I do; you are my student, and I am concerned about you. Now let me leave. By the way, happy birthday." Aizawa said, giving Kaminari a small smile before walking away.

"Thank you" Kaminari screamed after him.

"I wanted to be the first to say happy birthday to you." Izuku said with a fake pout, making both of them giggle a bit.

Kaminari grinned, "You had your chance this morning. Aizawa-sensei is not the first person to wish me a happy birthday either. After the clock hit midnight, Shin texted me a happy birthday message."

"That's not fair"

"Oh yes it is, anyways I gotta go. Me and the Bakusquad are going to the movies to celebrate my birthday." The blonde says excitement filling his eyes.

"Alright bye Denks" Izuku waved together with the rest of the Dekusquad.
