The young manipular awoke with a start from his cryo-sleep chamber. "What was that?" he thought to himself as he typed in his pass code and ran his finger on the DNA scanner to the hard metal armor cabinet. He suited on his armor peice by peice, and ran his checks. His Artificial Intelligence responded thusly: "Welcome back, manipular Skylar. I am now running all security scans. Please hold." said the white lady in his suit. He went and grabbed his Type 44 Mk. II Low-Profile Energy Blaster, which he liked to call L-PEB. He holstered the L-PEB and again typed his pass code, although this time it was on the intricate depressed symbols of his door lock, which was 24 inch thick steel.

     As he exited his room, he heard a small alarm go off and the white A.I., known as Cassady, appeared in his mind again: "Alert, manipular! The Citadel is under attack by unknown forces! We must get to the evacuation facility while we still can!" she said. The manipular pondered his options. He had the mind to bring his L-PEB, so he could help fight the unidentified terrorists. Then again, he could also get as far away as possible and let the trained gaurds handle it. " Cassady, run full checks on shield capacity and armor rating, and also energy levels for my L-PEB." said Skylar. So, of course, Cassady obliged, although very grudgingly.

     Skylar exited his house complex, from which his family had already left. No, he thought. They are all either at school or work. they haven't been home today.
