Beaver College's Had A NSFW Problem

In 2001, Beaver College changed its name to Arcadia in part because anti-nsfw filters blocked access to the school's website. The college's own research showed the school appealed to 30 percent fewer prospective students because of the name. And the problems worsened with the rise of the Internet, since some Web filters intended to screen out sexually explicit material blocked access to the Beaver College Web site. The name, along with the university status, became official on July 16, 2001.
