Chapter 4

"Now this specific sale is a bit more special than the others."

Arpagone announced as she raised a hand in your direction. A silent signal to stop which you desperately needed to calm your racing mind.

"Not only does she come with a very expensive haven bag that's unfortunately wakfu tied to her. The price for her has an additional 10,000 kamas due to it, no matter what bid you put down. But we have also tested her wakfu reservoir with our trusty machinery-" when the hell did they do that? "-and the tool broke when we did so! This implies that she holds a large unknown amount of wakfu. Perfect for those who want a rare specimen for numerous reasons."

You could feel the sinister and cruel thoughts swirling in the audience's head as she finished her speech.

"That's why she is put with this cast of magical workers despite her age and minor physical capabilities."

The stares intensified as Arpagone signaled for the attention to return to your small form.

Everything would be so much easier if your portal powers came in but you wouldn't even be stuck here if they did. Gritting your teeth you mentally prepared to go through with the only plan you had in mind.

A bright light shined down on you as you brought your hands up to where your sleeves stopped and dug your fingers in until the skin broke.

Wincing in pain you began to drag your fingers down your arms creating bright red and bloody marks over your arms.

Finally, you presented your arms high in the arm as droplets of blood flew off. Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath you focused your wakfu on your wounds. The gold vessels glowed on your skin letting everyone see how you healed your injuries in less than a minute.

It was silent when you brought your hands back to your side. You hoped it was enough. If not as a healer then at least as something rare enough to be worth buying.

"50,000 kamas." You've never been so happy to hear a price on your own body before.

The price continued to rise as you sagged in relief.

"Looks like one of our VIP bidders is also interested in this child." Arpagone said out loud making the bidders quiet down.

"The bid put forth is 1,000,000 kamas! Is anyone willing to top it or even afford to?"

Not another bidder called out as you looked up to the clearly fancier area. Which one of them bought you?

You continued to stare as a masqueraider dragged you away by your wrist.

A shiver ran down your spine as you caught a glimpse of black eyes surrounded by blue skin.

An osamoda huh? Definitely something you can work with. You just had to worry if she was the type to beat animals or love them due to the animal blood in her veins.

Not long afterwards you were given clean clothes to change into. (They weren't able to rip your hat away from you despite their best efforts.) Quietly you were led to a new room and shoved in.

"So this is what a rare find like you smells like." A blue-skinned hand grabs your chin and tilts you to look up roughly. A lavish sea green coat lays over a dull orange one-piece with matching leggings.

Was she a collector of some sort? You weren't one of the 12 species and were able to talk so by a technical means you were a rare find.

A collar snapping around your neck snaps you out of your daze as a jingling sound comes from the bell. The osmoda smiles down at you with a mix of condescendence and fondness.

"I'm Fazohi your new owner. What's your name shy one?" You look away while weighing the pros and cons before responding quietly. "It's just Y/n."

"Well pet, you better become used to responding in a more bubbly tone from this day forth!" She laughs while roughly petting your head as you scrunch one eye from it.

"Send in the cras!" She yells towards the door making you perk up. If it was the same cras from before then you still had a chance to escape quickly instead of waiting around for your portals to work.

The stoic cra group from before walked in indifferently as Fazohi made her way to them. Your eyes sparkled at the sight of your ticket out of here before Fazohi asked for their name.

The two cras in the back stayed silent as the middle and tallest male cra answered. "I'm Lotel and they are Nores and Noinnee." It was the first time you've heard any of them speak. Maybe it was a pride thing.

"Well Lotel, you and your other cra people will guard me and any other collectibles I go outside with. I can defend myself just fine, you're mostly here for my pets." She pinches your cheek again as you resist the urge to yank your head away.

You had no desire to see if the whip she wields is as sharp as it looks.

"Today we'll just be doing a test run by checking out the underground rings and markets okay? Don't let my new pet be snatched or else I'll snap your little bows in half."

The cras instantly became on guard at that threat as Noinnee snarled her teeth before Nores slapped a hand over her mouth. Nores glared at Noinnee as Lotel answered with a simple nod.

"Perfect!" Fazohi said as she clapped her hands. She grabbed you by your wrist and dragged you out of the room while humming. "No time to waste pet, the night is only so many hours."

Jogging you tried your best to keep up with the fast pace of the long-legged osamoda while the cras stayed strategically around you.

Once you reached the night market area things became a lot more crowded. She never once let you go as she visited various shops and bought multiple things. All the bags were given to the cras to hold while you were dressed in fancy expensive clothing.

"Your little hat is cute and unique. Almost like a flag for me to use to find you so I'll let you keep it on." Fazohi pulled on one of the ears of your hat forcing you to wince in pain as she giggled. "But tonight you'll have to show me what you're hiding under there."

That sentence alone left you chilled as you continued to be dragged by her. You couldn't waste any time, if the cras didn't make a move by tonight then you would escape on your own alone.

You glanced at the intimidating cras and wondered why they wouldn't escape now. It was crowded which meant harder to chase, they were in a group of three meaning they could defend each other unlike you so why the hesitation?

Lotel caught your eye as he glanced down at you. You held his eyes for a moment before he turned his head away, his long blonde hair swaying to show his stretched elven ears. A black dull earring hung from the base that had strange wakfu energy around it.

While Fazohi chatted with the salesperson you focused on seeing the wakfu currents of the earring and noted how disgusting and muddled the energy was. It matched the dark spells the masqueraiders used with certain masks when they were killing other victims.

Nores and Noinnee also had the same earrings, meaning it must be a threat of some sort. Why didn't you have one though? Thoughtfully you reached up and touched your left ear only to snap to attention when Fazohi called you over.

The soft yet restrictive clothing you were adorned with was uncomfortable as you walked closer to her. A male ecaflip was with her, his fur was grey and green iris followed your every move.

"This is my new pet Y/n, I'm thinking of bringing her to a well-known Xelor named Nox to know what she is. She's quite shy you see but a bit dumb too. I don't think even she knows what she is." She laughs at her own words while the ecaflip continues to stare at you while chuckling.

This could not get any more creepy or embarrassing. You're dressed almost head to toe like a doll while being talked to and leered at like some idiot.

"Aw, go easy on the poor girl." Poor your ass, if these shoes weren't suffocating your feet you would have stomped on his dirty boots. "I'm Ruam Gen, if Fazohi is being too mean then you're free to come to my place for a bit."

You smile politely as instructed by Fazohi while she punches his arm playfully. Her strength is much higher than his as he turns his head away and rubs the spot. "Stop trying to steal my pets! You always do this and it's the same result each time."

Silently you stay in your spot as Fazohi continues to speak. "You convince them you're oh so kind and they run away from me the first chance they get and go to you. You welcome them with open arms before eating a nice feast." You don't miss how Ruam's teeth flash dangerously as his pupils constrict in your direction.

Getting eaten was not on your bucket list and he doesn't seem interested in eating the cras. Why did you have to get the worst luck in life?

Thankfully the conversation ends soon after that and Fazohi is dragging you and the cras toward a large tunnel that leads downwards.

"It's about time for the animal rings to start. I'm sure you all will find it interesting to watch." She says this is casually but all you can see is the golden wakfu down below.

Steadily you've gotten closer to it and maybe you'll get to see it up close. If fate is kind to you, then it'll be related to the eliatrope or Chibi.

If it turns out he died here then you'll have no qualms about killing and destroying this whole organization as your life's mission.
