~12~

I apologize for the late update, but I had/am at the hospital.

Update! N/n will now be changed to Kemuri, which means smoke! Thanks to @_iNeedTherapy_ !

I will not be updating the previous chapters, as that would send out too many notifications, so I'm sorry if it causes any problems but just realize that whenever Eri called Y/n "N/n", it meant Kemuri.

~Aizawa POV~

I sigh as I pick the girl up, my eyes going back to my usually tired look. "She's passed out," I say to the officers as I hold her close. "I'll bring her to the officer."

"Oh! No ErasureHead, we can bring-" I cut off the officer before she can finish her sentence, "No. She trusted me, I'll be bringing her." I say sternly as she nods. I turn my back to her and walk towards the entrance.

"I wonder how old she is. She's definitely malnourished, although after seeing Eri, I'm not surprised...She seems young, maybe around 12, 13...? I don't think she's much older."

I left the warehouse to see the ambulance with Eri was gone. "Damn it...I hope they don't wake up yet, they might panic not knowing where the other is."

I walk over to one of the four ambulances still outside the building. I felt a hand reach out to me and turned to see Ryuko. "Is...Is that her...?"

I nod my head. "I need to get her to the ambulance. She's injured everywhere, the only way I got her here was by promising she'll see Eri again." She looked down sadly as she let go of me. I made my way to the ambulance, handing her to the doctor.

"Careful, she was found under tremendous amounts of rubble. I have reason to believe she's injured in multiple other ways as well." They nod as they quickly strap her into the bed, connecting IVs and heart monitors to her. "And please," They turn to me, "Put her near Eri, they're sisters' and I have the right to suspect they have attachment issues." They quickly nod as they finish attaching the equipment. In a matter of a few minutes, they were gone.

"I guess I'll go back to the investigation." With a sigh, I turn around and return to the warehouse, putting my eye mask back on. I promise myself I'll visit the two. They're too young to be alone right now...

~Eri POV~

I stir lightly, keeping my eyes closed. The last thing I remember was...My eyes shot open.

I quickly sat up as my breathing became uneven, looking around the room. 'I was saved by heroes! I have to find them!" I went to get up only to be stopped by the sound of the door opening. Standing there was a man with long hair dressed in all black, a boy with green fluffy hair, and a boy with blond hair, smiling at me.

"Wait...I know the two boys! those were my heroes!" My eyes widen. "H-Heroes.." Was all I muttered as I stared at them.

"Eri! Y-You're awake!" I heard the green boy say. I slowly nod, still staring at them.

They all walk over to my bed, except for the black-haired man, who I don't know; he stays behind.

"Eri! I'm Lemillion, one of the heroes who saved you. But you can call me Mirio!" I blinked as I nodded, now out of my trance.

"And I'm Deku! Well, Deku's my Hero name, my real name is Izuku Midoriya, but you can call me either! I know you just got free, so you don't have to remember immediately, I just hope that you will eventually! You know-" He was interrupted by the blond boy. "Midoriya, you're rambling..."

the green boy laughs nervously as his face turns pink. "Of course...I'm sorry!"

I nod. "It's alright...Mr. Deku.."

The boy smiles, his eyes looking watery. "Is he crying?" I tilt my head in confusion as I look at the black-haired man. "Who's that?" I say quietly, still not comfortable being in this room.

The man walks closer. "I'm Shota Aizawa, ProHero ErasureHead if that's easier." I nod as I look around the room, thinking about anything to distract me.

"I still can't believe it...I'm free...I'm away from Overhaul...No more punishments...No more of going to the room...Me and Kemuri always talked about this...wait. Kemuri!"

I snap my head over to the three men, startling them. "Where's Kemuri?!" I shout out, my eyes wide.

"W-who?!" Mr. Deku says as he panics. Lemillion stares at him as he puts a hand on his arm, stopping him. He calmly looks back over to me. "Who is Kemuri?"

I look at him. "My big sister! She was supposed to be saved with me! Where is she?! I have to be with her!" I feel tears starting to form in my eyes.

"Hey, hey! Eri calm down..." Lemillion reaches a hand out for me but I back away, now hyper-aware of my surroundings. Lemillion backs away with his hands up, showing surrender as I bring my hands close to my chest. "What'd you do to her?! Where is she?!" I start to sob as I look around the room.

"Eri. If you try to calm down, I'll let you see her." Mr. Aizawa said, sternly as he slowly inched his way over. I didn't notice the man coming closer as I tried to calm my breathing. He put a hand on my shoulder and moved it up and down, comforting me as my breathing settled. "He reminds me a lot of Kemuri..." "W-where is she...?" I said slowly looking up at him.

"Don't worry. I know where she is." I looked at him with pleading eyes, just wanting to be with my sister. "But I don't think now is a good time for you to see her."

I furrowed my eyebrows as a frown formed on my face, "What?! Why not?"

"She's...recovering." I tilted my head to the side in confusion as he sighed and put a hand to his nose, rubbing the middle of his eyebrows.

"She isn't..." He sighs again and shakes his head. "She isn't quite awake yet."

I sigh in relief...I thought he was going to tell me she was...Dead. I pouted. "You scared me...I thought you were going to tell me bad news."

"Huh? What do you- Eri. How long ago do you think we saved you?"

I lifted an eyebrow. "Uhm...yesterday?"

He shakes his head. "No. It's been 2 days."

I blink. "Oh. Alright.."

The three men give me a blank stare. "What...?"

"Aren't you, concerned?"

I tilt my head. "Uhm. No? I mean, it's only 2 days, that's not much."

Mr. Aizawa shakes his head, meanwhile, Mr. Deku's eyes widen and Lemillion looks down. "Eri, that's not normal, at all. You shouldn't be 'asleep' for 2 days."

"But it's really not that bad? Sometimes me and Kemuri would wake up weeks later, or at least, that's what Overhaul told us."

"W-weeks?!" Mr. Deku blurts out, his eyes getting glossier as time goes by. I nod at him, confused as to why they're so shocked.

"I think Deku and I need a break," Lemillion says as he puts a hand on Mr. Deku's arm, looking at Mr. Aizawa. He nods as Mr. Deku and Lemillion walk off, waving as they leave.

"Eri." Mr. Aizawa calls out to me. I look over at him and nod. "Why would you two wake up so late?"

"Oh, uh...Kemuri had training, so she would be pretty tired after it...and I always fell asleep after tests..." "I wasn't expecting him to ask so bluntly...But I have to answer him, I don't want to be punished.."

"Test? The ones Overhaul did?"

"Mm, sometimes. A lot of the time, it would be other doctors while Overhaul was busy with Kemuri..." I look down as I play with my fingers. I noticed how the needle connecting me to the machines was really long. I was never given one of these before...

"Busy with Kemuri? Do you mean training her? How would he do that?" He asked as he pulled up a chair next to the bed I was on.

"I don't really know myself. Kemuri would never tell me...She would always say it was no big deal...But every time she came back, she was so bloody, she always had so many injuries...And when I saw her for the first time after being separated...She looked-" A shiver went up my spine as I hugged myself.

"That's alright Eri...You don't need to say anymore.." Mr. Aizawa puts a hand on my back as he rubs it up and down, comforting me. I nod slowly and wipe my face, trying to wipe away the tears I didn't notice were coming out.

"Would you- uh." He slightly coughs. "Do you want me to brush your hair? It looks a bit matted.."

"Hm? What's matted?" I tilt my head. He shakes his head as he reaches down next to him, pulling out a thick pink and blue stick with other tiny sticks poking out of it. There are these little black-and-white circles on the pink side.

"Huh? What's that?" I say, pointing to the thing in his hands. He closes his eyes and breathes in. When he opened them again, I could tell he was upset, but I don't know at what.

"This is a hairbrush. It'll get rid of all of the knots in your hair to make it soft."

"Oh! Kemuri does that for me but with her hands!" Mr. Aizawa nods.

"Can you turn around for me? I'll brush through it gently so that it won't pull." I nod and turn around as I feel my hair being slightly pulled. I close my eyes as I feel the 'hairbrush' on my head.

"It feels nice..." I say as my shoulders relax. I hear him let out a small laugh and continue to brush my hair.

After a few minutes, he stops. "Alright. I'm all done." I turn back around and face him. "Go ahead, feel your hair."

I raise an eyebrow and touch my hair. My eyes widen slightly as I start to feel it more. "It's so soft.." He smiles and me and nods.

"Are you feeling tired, or would you rather want to play something?"

I look up at him and furrow my brows. "Play? Play what?" All I could think of was the 'playing' Overhaul liked to do. I straightened my back as I looked at him.

he must have seen my reaction as he shook his head. "Nothing bad. Here," He pulled out this piece of paper and a pen. "Let's play tic-tac-toe."

"Huh? What's that?" He sighs as he starts to explain the rules of the game to me, having to repeat some things a few times to make sure I understand. I nodded as we started to play. I put an X on the middle square to start with.

We played for a few minutes before Mr. Aizawa asked me a question. "Eri. About Kemuri.."

"Hm? What about her?" I say as I put down an X in the middle of the paper.

He put down an O on the box next to mine. "Is Kemuri her real name?"

I shake my head. "Nope! I gave her that nickname. I got it from her quirk." I put down an X under the middle.

"I see. So, she has a smoke quirk. What is her real name then?" He put an O on top of the middle, blocking my win.

I pout slightly, now looking at him. "I...I don't know. Overhaul calls her 062. She says 062 is her name but...it doesn't sound like a real name."

He looks at me and shakes his head. "It's not. Does she not want to say her name or...does she not remember?"

I shake my head. "I don't think she knows. She would have told me, right?" I sigh as I look down. "Now that I think of it...I don't even know how old she is..."

Mr. Aizawa sighs as he puts the paper away. "I see. Well, Eri, it's getting late. You should start going to bed and I'll come back to see you when you're awake." He gets up with a huff and dusts off his pants.

I look at him. "Sleep? Now? What about Kemuri?"

He looks back at me and nods. "I'll check in with the doctors taking care of her, I'll see what I can do, Okay?"

I sadly nod. "Okay...Can I sleep with the light on?"

He sadly smiles and nods. "Sleep well Eri. I'll be back and I'll try my best to get you to see Kemuri. I promise." He walks to the door and waves before leaving.

Once I see him leave, I sigh. "I wonder how Kemuri is doing...I have to stay strong for her! Just like how she does for me!" I lay down, cuddled into the blanket, and closed my eyes, not realizing how tired I was until I immediately fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up to some familiar voices. It was the same people as yesterday! They're here..but I don't know why.. I wish Kemuri was here...

I rubbed my eyes as I sat up. "M-Mr. Aizawa..." I say softly, not knowing if he'd get mad that I talked.

I saw him turn to me and nodded. He walked over to my bed and stood in front of me. "Good morning, Eri. How are you feeling?"

I tilted my head to the side. "How do I feel..? I'm not in much pain...I don't feel any cuts on me, so it's much better."

He gives a small smile as he nods. "Good. You healed yourself during the fight, so you have no scars."

I nodded in understanding as I looked off to the side. I quickly thought of something as I looked back at Mr. Aizawa.
"What about Kemuri??"

Mr. Aizawa sighs as he massages his forehead. "She's..Under high maintenance watch right now. I tried talking to them but," He shook his head. "They wouldn't budge. I'm sorry, Eri."

"Under high maintenance watch? They're watching her? Why? Did something happen to her??"

His eyes slightly widened as he rested his hand on my shoulder. "Hey, Hey. It's okay. Let me explain. The doctors just wanted to make sure she's all better, so when you see her, she can play all the games I've taught you."

I nod my head, not knowing what to say. I want to see Kemuri now but..She has to get better..

I tried to change the conversation, so I went back to what he said. "Games? There's more? What games?"

Mr. Aizawa smiled as he shook his head. "You'll see. Let the doctor check up on you, and I'll show you."

I nodded as he took his hand away. A few minutes later, the doctor lady came in, checked the little screen with lines, looked at papers, and asked me questions.

As she finished, Mr. Aizawa pulled out a small box with a picture on it. There were a bunch of colors and characters! It was so bright!
The box had the letters C-A-N-D-Y L-A-N-D on it..I don't know what it says or what it means, but it looks cute!

He then pulls out 4 tiny boxes. They were all a different color with different things on them. They all said "60 pieces" and the word Q-U-O-K-K-A on the side.

He then took out one last box. It was blue with a blue thingy on the front. It had holes in the blue thingy with red and yellow circles in it. It says C-O-N-N-E-C-T 4!

I looked at the boxes in awe as Mr. Aizawa smiled. "Pick the one you want to play first."
I smiled as I pointed to the first one. "The pretty one."

He nods and leaves it on the bed and puts the others on the floor. He even invited Mr. Deku and Lemillion to play with us!

I chose the red little person as I put it on the first square. The red reminded me of Kemuri's favorite color, she always said my eyes were her favorite!

Mr. Aizawa started explaining the rules of the game as I listened. I played with the red guy as I listened to him talk. It still felt awkward to be in a room with the three. I know they aren't here to hurt me but...I can't trust them that easily...

~Y/n POV~

I groan loudly as I stirred awake. I open my eyes slowly, still waking up. Once I noticed the pure white room, the comfort of a bed, and an infuriating beeping noise every second I sat up quickly.

I start looking around the room frantically, eyes darting from wall to wall as I try to find anything of familiarity. My chest starts to feel heavy and ache as I hyperventilate.

The beeping in the room gets more and more frequent, getting louder each time. It aggravates me more as I plug my ears to muffle the sound. I shut my eyes tightly as I try to calm myself down.

I feel everything. The clothes on my body started to itch as every needle, that I hadn't even noticed I had started to hurt.

Just then, I open my eyes to a woman in a white dress running in, frantically mumbling.

"Oh my! You're awake! I-I'll be back!" She says as she stares at me then runs out.

I back up on the bed as I become hyper-aware of my surroundings. I look down at all of the wires and needles attached to me. I debated whether I should rip them out or not...I don't know what they're giving to me in the damned tube. What if it's causing more harm than good?

I look around more behind me, noticing around four machines. I shake my head as I look back in front of me, trying to find anything to keep me from leaving.

My chest starts to hurt from my constant deep breathing. I furrowed my eyebrows in pain as I tried to think of anything to calm me down.

Soon, a man in a white coat and short black hair walks in. I look at him with wide eyes as I back into the bed frame. My breathing gets faster as I try to figure out who he is.

"Ah! Are you alright?" He says as he walks closer.

I furrow my brows as I stick out a hand to stop him from getting any closer to me. I glared at him as my chest started to hurt more and more.

He puts his hands up as he shakes his head. "Hey...I'm not here to do any harm, I need to you calm down-"
He says as he walks closer, reaching my bed as he sticks his hand towards me.

My eyes widen as I press myself into a corner of the bed into the backboard. I put up my hands as I covered myself from him.
My breathing gets heavier as I start to cough, gasping for air as light tears brim my eyes. Not enough to pour out crying, but enough for a single tear to come down my face.

"What's going on- Kid?" I hear a deep, tired voice say as footsteps get closer to me. I cover my head tightly from whoever it is.

The footsteps stopped at my bed and I felt a hand on my arm. I slapped it off aggressively as I looked up at the man... It was the same man from before...

"It's okay.." He says as he puts his hands up lightly. "Everything's okay. We're here to help you.."

I look at him as I put my hands down. Unconsciously, my breathing evens out as I slowly nod.

"He-" He says as he points to the man in the white coat, now behind him, "Is here to help you. You woke up and started panicking, so he came over to see what was going on. He just needs to check on you, maybe ask you a few questions, and he's done."

I look over to the white coat man, then back at the one who..saved me. I nodded as I looked away.

"Good. Here, I'll stay and make sure he doesn't try anything, alright?" I nodded at him as I watched him walk over to the side where I was backed up into the corner and sit down on the chair next to me.

I watch the white-coated man cautiously walk over to my bed and set down a clipboard on the side table. "W-well.. My name is Dr. Fujita, and I'll be your doctor for the rest of your stay."

I narrow my eyes at him. He nodded and turned to one of the machines as he started to write on his clipboard.

I mentally sigh as I turn and look around the room. Although I'm still cautious, I'm calmer than before, so I can finally take the scenery. The room is off-white with orange floors and tables. There are machines all behind me, connecting me to them with wires and needles. I hate the feeling of needles...

I take a deep breath as I look back at the doctor. "Alright then, I'm just going to start off with some basic questions, okay?"

I nod as I subconsciously get closer to the man who saved me as I faced the doctor.

"Okay, first question. Do you know where you are?"

I look around the room before looking back at him and nodding.

"Okay, that's good.. Can you talk?"

I furrow my brows and narrow my eyes. "I can't risk it...Overhaul might be gone for now, but it won't take long for him to find me.."

"You can't, or do you just choose not to?" He asks as he writes something on his paper and looks back at me.

I hold up two fingers. "Choose not to doesn't really explain it, but it's the closest answer.."

He nods as he starts to write again. "Would you like a paper to write?

I look back at the man who saved me. He gave me a shrug and nodded. I looked back at the doctor as I slowly nodded. "I don't know how good my handwriting is but I guess I'll try..."

He turns behind him as he opens the drawer of the side counter and pulls out a small notebook and pen. "Here. We leave these in rooms in case for patients like this." He smiles as he handed them to me.

I just stared at his hand, not wanting to risk it and touch it. "I don't know where he's been."

"Alright then..." He says as he puts down the notebook. I stare at it before nodding and picked it up. I open to a page as I grab the pen. "It's probably been years since i last held one of these things.." I though as I tried to find a way to hold it. Every way felt uncomfortable and unnatural..

"So, next question, what's your name?" The doctor says. I finally found a way to hold the pen as i began to write.

I tilted the paper over as I showed him my answer. "Ah, no. Your real name, not the one Overhaul gave you."

I furrow my brows as I started writing again.

"You don't know your name?" His brows lifted as he began writing. I just stared straight at the paper. "I don't want to do this anymore."

"You wrote it wasn't him who gave you that name? Who was it?"

The second i wrote His name, I heard the man who saved me sit up in his chair. I continued writing and turned it over to the doctor.

"A-All for one?? You mean to tell me..?" The doctor blinks his eyes as he stops talking and starts writing. "I- I have to go. Erasurehead, I'm sure you can watch over her. I'll have the nurse come in and check the rest of her vitals soon." He gets up quickly and gathers his stuff. "Have a good day, you two." He walks out before either of us could react.

I raised my eyebrows at his reaction as I shrugged and sighed. i put the notebook down as I repositioned myself in bed. I turned and faced the wall in front of me and moved to the middle of my bed.

"Kid." I turned my attention to the man. "Are you serious when you say you were held by All for one? Did he..take you, when you were younger?" I looked at him as i looked back down to my lap and nodded. I heard him sigh as he sat back in his chair, a hand running through his hair before he rubbed his temples.

After a few moments of awkward silence, the man begins to talk. "How old are you?" I turn to him as I shrugged and grabbed my notebook, flipping to a new page.

The man's eyebrows twisted together as he sighed again. "I see..Do you remember..any major events happening?" I thought for a second before writing.

"Your brother and friend? And you we're playing with your quirks. Did you just get them?"
I raised an eyebrow and nodded. I put a hand up and swayed it from side to side. "I know we were testing them..Must've been because we just got them..Why can't i remember?!"

"Somewhere around there? You were taken when you were around 4 or 5 then..You look much older than that.."

I nodded as I began to write again.

His brow furrow as he nods. I raise a brows as I look away. "Wait..ERI?!"

My eyes widen as I quickly look back at the man. I point to Eri's name as my brows furrow at him.

"Kid, calm down. Everything's alright. She's safe. She's in a hospital room now and she's always kept a close eye on. I would know if anything happened to her. He injuries are all healed visually, but they are doing vitals and check ups to make sure nothing happening internally."

I stare at him skeptically as I slowly look away. "He's the one who saved me..He promised Eri would be safe.."

"She's been asking for you, but you've been asleep.." He says as he looks away. My eyebrows soften slightly as I heard that.

"She's been awake for 3 days now, and she's seemingly fine, no x-ray shows any problems and she's getting along well with the boys."

I look at him curiously. "The boys? who are they?"

"The two that saved her. Lemillion and Deku. She's gotten along well with those two. The three of us have been playing games she's never seen before, so she can slowly start opening up more. I've taken a few pictures, if you'd like to see them, prove she's safe."

I still look at him skeptically as I nod. He pulls out a little black thing from his pocket. It shines as he starts touching it and pressing it. He turns it to me as I squirt my eyes at the sudden bright light on my face. I open my eyes to see a picture.

Eri is on a bed with few machines behind her. Her hair looks fluffy and clean in two small pigtails, as her face and body are unscathed. She's wearing a blue hospital gown as she's holding a little red thing in her hand. There's two boys next to her. One had yellow hair with blue eyes whose smiling and pointing to a square in a colorful paper(?) in front of them. The other has green fluffy hair with green eyes and a freckled face. A wide smile is plastered on his face as he watches Eri and the other boy playing.
He seems oddly familiar, but I can't tell from what..

The man keeps swiping through the black thing as he shows me more pictures. Eri looks clean and healthy, even showing to be standing up and jumping in one of the pictures.

"She's safe with us, Kid. We've kept a close eye on her." He says as he starts to get up.
I just watch as he gets up and sighs.

"I'm going to go now. It late and I have to check on Eri. You should rest. If anything, and i mean anything happens, there's a little button on the side of your bed. Press it, and i'll come over here as fast as I can. I'll keep you updated on whatever happens to Eri, and I'll make sure to come back when i can tomorrow." He says as he starts to walk to the door. "Good night. Sleep now, I'll be back."

I watched him wave as he left. I just stared at the door, trying to process what happened.

"She's safe.
No more cuts.
No more pain.
Playing games.
No fighting.
No tears.
She's all safe now.
She's free.
We're free.."
