Sammy woke up the next day feeling horrible. She needed to come up with an excuse to ricky of why she didn't answer. She wasn't ready to tell ricky about her parents splitting up. Last night when she got home one of her parents slipped that she could choose who she wanted to live with. Sammy didn't know who to choose.

Have a fresh start?

Stay and see what happens?

She changed into leggings and a sweatshirt. Her eyes were still puffy, she woke up in the middle of the night and broke down again, no reason why it just happened. She applied makeup to her eyes and straightened her hair.

Sammy skated to the school early just to sit in silence. She walked into the bomb shelter seeing miss jenn, carlos, and gina in there talking.

"good morning sammy." gina said

"good morning sorry i got here early."

"oh no, of course, it's fine." miss jenn said and walked away but turned back around. "i looked into your records and i saw you did dance last year. are you flexible?"

"woah! You can't tell anyone! I didn't even tell my parents, but yes i'm flexible i just haven't done it in a while." gina and carlos looked at each other

"well come here we are going to practice this because nini isn't here yet." gina grabbed her hand and she dropped everything to the floor. She took off her sweatshirt and she was wearing a tube top.

"just watch me i'll go step by step."

Gina showed her all the steps and sammy knew all of them. She only showed her two times and Sammy had it down. People started to fill in a few minutes after but they continued to dance.

She felt free again dancing when she spun feeing the air and her hair flying everywhere was something she loved.

Sammy didn't care that people were watching her dance. Miss jenn widen her eyes of how she danced really well. As the song ended and they came to a stop holding the lunch trays facing miss jenn and carlos then nini walked in.

"Everybody hold!" miss jenn walked over to nini

Sammy stopped and looked around and everyone was looking at her with surprise that she could dance.

"Nini where were you? We've been here for an hour." sammy walked over to her bag to get a drink. she was next to big red and E.J

"i'm so sorry. I-i lost my phone and spent all last night living as a hunter-gather, which by the way, did you know there are things that are only on tv at a certain time?"

"everyone knows that." sammy muttered and got E.J's attention she gave him a stare and he looked away

"anyway, i picked it up at the lost and found... wait did you say one hour?"

"Gina sent you a text asking if we could come in early so she could talk through a new idea. You didn't get it?"

"no, because my phone was missing"

"well, honey you got to keep track of your stuff."

"yup got it."

"gina pitches a whole new dance break between Gabriella and Taylor of status Quo,
and she had sammy and carlos work it out with her, and it is dazzling."

"i-im sorry sammy?" nini looked at sammy

"yes sammy can surprisingly dance really well." sammy smiled and picked up her phone because it buzzed

She looked at the text then shut off her phone and putting it into her bag. Ricky watched in the distance and he was confused.

"Did i do something wrong? she called me ten times, she never does that. I was so caught up with the nini voicemail i didn't pick up the phone. Gosh, i did it again. I put nini before her."

Sammy walked out of the bomb shelter putting in her headphones and headed to her first class. English, she hated this class. One it had ricky in it and that's the last thing she wanted today. Two she just wants to read she doesn't like the essays.

She walked into the empty classroom grabbing a paper from the front that she had to do before class started. She kept her headphones in not wanting to be noticed by ricky.

"ok everyone let's start class!" mr.franscisco got everyone's attention. Sammy took out her headphones and shutting off her phone.

Class was normal she was paying attention, listening but something hit her. She looked down and saw a piece of paper. She ignored it, she turned her head to move her hair out of the way and ricky hit her in the eye with the paper.

"ow what the heck." she tried to whisper but she still got the teachers attention

"Mars! Passing notes i see. Principal office."

"b-but i didn't do anything!"

"i said now! No talking back!"

Sammy stood up quickly ignoring the whispers her classmates had and gave ricky a death stare and walked out of the classroom, she's never been before but she knew the principal they were so nice to her.

"ms.mars what can we do for you?"

"i-i got sent here by mr.franscisco," she said quietly

"oh ok, go on back."

She walked back to Mrs.Rebecca's office and huffed while sitting on the chair putting her head in her hands

"talking during class, and passing notes. Sammy, i thought you were better than this." sammy looked up at her

"i didn't do anything, ricky was trying to get my attention all class period and i ignored him! i tried to move a piece of my hair and he threw a paper ball at my eye, which caused me to talk in pain. You know i would never do that." sammy said quickly because she could have this on her record she wanted a nice college

"sammy i will let you off with a warning, but if it happens again it will go on your record. have a great day."

"oh my gosh thank you! i'll bring you something soon!" she walked out of the principal's office to be faced with ricky

"go away ricky," she said walking past him

"sam what did i do that's making you all pissed at me? i came to apologize about throwing the papers at you. What happened last night because it doesn't seem like you want to answer my texts." he held up his phone and showed all the texts he sent

"i-i got my phone taken last night, i wasn't home i was at the diner all night."

"o-oh ok." he dropped his hand "well i'll see you in science." he walked away

"bye" she whispered

2 days passed and her and ricky were on good terms she still hasn't told him about her parents but still chose to ignore it.

She was currently in the empty hallway after school listening to music singing quietly but soon stopped when E.J walked passed her quickly. She stood up and took out her headphones

"E.J what happened?" he turned around with a bloody lip

"i don't know maybe ask mr.perfect and find out for yourself." he walked into the bathroom

Ricky soon came running down the hall and sammy stopped him.

"what happened? Why is E.J all bloody?" he ignored her and walked past

"You're so confusing bowen! You could have said one single word to me!" she was pissed and she didn't know why.

he didn't turn back and she walked out of the doors getting on her skateboard to head home. Her ride soon got stopped when connor pulled up next to her.

"get in loser! You're not skating home." she took out her earbuds and looked at him from the window

"and who said you were the boss of me," she smirked

"just get in sammy i'm taking you home." he unlocked the door and she got in.

From far away ricky was skating home, he saw a car pull up to sammy and she got in. His heart sunk when he saw a boy in the driver's seat. He saw her smile before she got in and he felt jealous.

"well ricky got me sent to the principal's office." she rolled her eyes and looked out the window

"wow really?"

"that's funny. that's ricky" she pointed outside the window to him skating on his skateboard

"wow, that's the ricky you tell me about."

"yeah." she turned back to him

The ride was filled with singing and laughing. They soon pulled up to her house. She saw her dad's car was gone and her mom was home. She got out of the car.

"thank you for the ride." she smiled st him

"of course. If you need anything text me."

"ok bye." she shut the door and walked inside her house with a smiled being greeted by her mom

"so who was that boy?" her mom smirked at her

"he's just a friend i met at the diner, he's nothing more. I'm not in the mood for boys right now." she threw her bag down

"on another note, ricky sent me to the principal's office." sammy walked over to the couch

"that boy, i love ricky with all my heart. Have you told him about the separation?"

"no i can't, i-i don't want to." sammy laid down on the couch grabbing a pillow and a blanket

"are you about to take a nap that fast?"

"today has been horrible so i rather sleep it off. If ricky comes by let him in." she closed her eyes and fell asleep

"hey sam." she felt someone nudge her

"go away i was in my beauty sleep." she flipped around not facing the person

she felt the person get on her back and lay down.

"i swear ricky you better get off of me or i'll blame my death on you. You will be sent to jail." she felt him fall off of her and hit the floor

"your lucky i did that." she was still facing away from him. "are you going to wake up soon i'm bored!" Sammy sat up and threw a pillow at him.

"stop complaining! Let the princess have her sleep!" she fell back on the couch

"did you just throw that pillow at me" she finally opens her eyes when she saw him over her ready to hit her

"i will press charges if you hit me!" he put the pillow down.

He picked it up again quickly and hit her she screamed and jumped up on the couch before she could grab a pillow he lifted her and threw him over her shoulder.

"Richard put me down!" she pounded his back and he started walking up the stairs to her room

Ricky lifted her and put her on the bed. He fell forward when he dropped her and their faces were almost touching. He looked at her lips for a second and she did the same.

Before he could do anything else his phone started to ring.

"you got to be kidding me" he huffed and got off of her walking out of her room to answer

"What just happened. Can someone tell me why i have all these weird feelings every time he's around me?" she spun in a circle with her face in her hands

"hey i have to go my dad made dinner." sammy stood up and he wrapped her in a hug.

When they pulled away she kissed his cheek and he turned red a little.

"good night ricky"

"g-good night sam" he turned away quickly so she wouldn't let her see his red cheeks.

"weirdo i can see your red cheeks!" she yelled at him as he walked down the stairs, he laughed a little.

Sammy fell back on her bed and just
re-thought what just happened. What if she kissed him, that would ruin everything. Right?
