"MOM! MOM! " She cried. Her fiance wasn't with her, and that alone terrified her. He has stayed behind to help. Or at least try to. Her mother was, at least, and that was a huge reassurance. Her mother would literally rip the head off of anything trying to harm her. Or die trying.

" It's okay, Y/N. Just relax. You are doing great. Such a good momma. " Her mother cooed softly. She just had to get them a little further away. Just a little. Whatever was chasing them was after the currently unborn child of her eldest daughter, and there wasn't any way in hell she was letting it win. A lot rested on her shoulders. They had barely managed to escape. But, they were tracked.

Y/N closed her eyes as she sat there. She was doing what her uncle had taught her, keeping time of how far apart contractions were, trying to remain calm, breathing patterns to help her focus. Her family was from a long line of multi talented people, mostly medicinal.

She hadn't expected her vacation before her wedding to go this way. It was nearing its end, and then suddenly, it turned into a nightmare.

No one expected it.

It was a peaceful morning. She was, of course, on a vacation with he fiance, and away from home. It wasn't too far away, obviously, and the vacation was almost over. They were walking the city together when all around them loud crashes and explosions started. Sirens went off. People started to run. No one knew what was going on.

They evacuated with everyone else, but the longer things went on, the more she felt off. Y/N collapsed that night, andna doctor came by to see her. The results were not good. She was fighting infection. What she didn't know is that she fought that same infection that was currently both killing and changing everyone outside the city.

Officials had moved quickly, building barricades, fences, and adding extra security to the city edges. They were going to fight this virus. Or whatever it was.

Her fiance moved her to a private place so they could focus on her recovery and contact her mother and aunt. One hell of a combination. Her aunt was a champion fighter. Known for her knockouts and survival abilities. Her mother, as most of her family, was well known for medicine, survival, and speed.

The best part was that it only took them a few days to get to her. Her mother arrived first, studied the infected, and immediately created something to help Y/N. It only took hours. She was simply incredible. Y/N learned everything from her, but being sick, she couldn't help herself.

After a few days, her mother went out to find the city's head and distribute medicine to those in need to end the plague. Yet, she hadn't returned. Eventually, her fiance started to feel off himself, and so they went to the city to search for her mother.

The once bustling city was deserted. No one roaming the streets. No one.ceying or dying on the sidewalks. It was eerie. As they searched, she noticed the barricade. It moved and snapped, and infected flooded in. She yelled for her fiance and tried to get his attention. Instead, they were both greeted by security, pulling them into the main building and locking them inside.

After grueling interrogation, they were separated, and she would sit with about three other people. They were all scared. A man came in in causal clothing. He addressed himself as a Dr and administered them all a weird medicine. " I can't drink many medicines. I'm pregnant. " Y/N said, trying to reason.

" You will take it. You don't have a choice. Mommy said so. " He gave her a knowing look.

Y/N was no fool, though. Her mother would never trust any other doctor other than her own family. " You are not my family, and therefore not my doctor. " She growled out.

The man stepped closer and held her at gun point. " Take the medicine or die. "

Fearing for her life, she hesitantly took it, hoping that her child would be okay.
The people beside her, within the hour, started to convulse, they spewed bile and sickness across the tables, and fell to the floor with blood pouring from their noses or ears. Y/N, however, did not, but at that exact time, she entered labor.

She wasn't supposed to have her labor yet. It should have been weeks. She was instantly worried and stood to try to break out of the room. She had to be careful not to slip on the various bodily fields around her. She couldn't risk infection.

As soon as she was out, the man turned the corner of the hall. " Interesting. You should be dead. You were infected. That should have killed you. " He seemed both curious and furious at the same time. " I should study you. "

He approached her, and it was all she could do not to fall. Suddenly, his body jerked violently to the right and into a janitor closet. " Fuck off asshole. Not my daughter. "

" Mom... " Y/N called having contractions start to hit her.

She knew what was wrong instantly. " What a time to go into labor. "

" He forced me to drink something. Water broke. People started to die.."

" I have been dealing with my fair share of his mess myself. He's gone mad with power, took the city from the officials. I don't know why that didn't affect you in the same way, but I am so thankful it didn't. " She held Y/N close. " Your aunt snuck into the city. She is currently trying to get to your fiance. "

The door started to jerk and break, and snap and animalistic sounds ripped from.thebstrange doctors throat. " Come on, babygirl. We have to go. Steady yourself. If we can't escape and get you home or to another hospital, you won't get a chance to be a momma . "

" But.."

" He will be fine. We need to get you safe. He would want it. " Her mother reasoned.

Silently, she nodded, but inside, she wanted to stay. She wanted to help. She needed to. The door busted open behind them, and the man came running out. It was as if he was the one who created the bio weapon that caused all of this mess.
Now, he needed Y/N to figure out why she was immune.

They ran to a car outside and drove off with the man chasing them. He seemed to be everywhere. At every turn. Her mother noticed her doing the best she could and watched him. They were at the edge of the city now.

" Y/N. Tell your father to be ready. Your sister is going to drive you the rest of the way home. " She instructed.

" Lilly? " She asked. " Why would you bring my sisters here?

" Just her. Layla is waiting for you to return with your uncle. It's best for youm they'll help you get to safety and deliver safely. At home. I trust Lilly with this. She is excellent with her studies. As are you, but you can't help yourself right now. Let them help. " She stopped the car, helped Y/N out, and snuck her to the edge. After giving her a kiss, she slipped her through the fence. " Lilly. Go. "

" Yes, mother. " Shentook her sister's terrified hand, " Come on. We better hurry. " They went together to a waiting car nearby, and her sister rushed her home.

Once they arrived, Y/N was taken back immediately by her uncle and sisters. They licked everyone out and went to work on treating her and the baby.

Time passed. One day. Two. Three. Her mother, fiance, andnaunt still hadn't returned. Y/N told her aunts husband everything's he could remember. To say, he was furious was an understatement.

" I'm going in now. " He muttered angrily before turning to leave. He stopped. " You did good Y/N. I'm glad you are safe. I'll bring them home. "

The top dog was now in action, and he was pissed. His trusted allies at his side, that city would fall. It's people would be treated. And his family would be whole again.
