What They Are

You woke up without feeling any kind of pain. Your wounds healed and your clothes all changed. Jeniveve was laying beside you on a bed you didn't recognize.

"This is nice," you muttered.

It felt warm. Seeing Jeniveve there beside you and feeling the heat your body gave off underneath the blanket as an oven, you weren't freezing anymore. Well, you didn't know why you were cold in the first place, but it all seemed like a distant memory as you analyze the silent room around you.

As to not wake the sleeping puppy, you pushed yourself off the bed, suffering a silent sob because the floor can't seem to get enough of your face.

"I hate floors so much," you pouted whilst crawling towards a door with a flattened piece of metal atop wood as some sort of fake handle.

When you pushed it open you were met with a forest view behind glass windows. The vines- lined with flowers, hanging from dark branches- danced in the little breeze you couldn't touch from behind the glass. Their wisteria features all too obvious, you had the trees recognized within seconds.

"What is this place?"

"This is a state-of-the-art research center for rare hybrids. Your friend, who I assume took over your bed, brought you here after dealing with a few...animals?"

You stared at the woman for a good long second.

"Ma'am? Were you really attacked by animals? Is there something I should know about the kids recovering in the ER?"

My brain is lagging so bad right now.

You couldn't find any words so you turned your attention to her face. You studied her clothes and even her little habits based off the physical ones you could see in that moment.

Her badge says Sakura and her clothes are mostly white. There was an interesting looking stethoscope dangling around her neck along with tool in her little chest pocket. Her hair fell to a place just above the first half of her stomach.

"I might, could you lead me to the kids?"

She nodded and started walking calmly down the white hallway. There were widows on a few rooms where you could see baby hybrids learning about their species and what not.

"Unfortunately, we could only treat the vampire werewolf hybrid properly because we specialize with hybrids. The others received a few medications that they know to use."

You don't really know why she's telling you all of this, it's not like you know who you're even looking at yet.

"Why didn't you get them to another hospital then?"

Sakura sighed before readjusting her golden flecked glasses. You didn't even know she had those on until she moved them.

"They were in need of immediate care so we patched them up like humans and gave them the meds. That's just the simple explanation though."

Okay, kinda rude but whatever.

Soon enough, you reached the ER. Inside a room with double doors the wounded monsters slept so peacefully. Each one of them was lined up starting from youngest to oldest, leaving Jin against a wall by a fridge.

Sakura continued marching towards the middle of the room and pointed to each one of them while asking the same exact question.

"How was he this badly injured?"

You almost forgot they were hurt. You were so caught up in your hatred that it seemed to just slip your mind.

"It was probably me. That's the simple explanation," you said, purposely adding a little bit of mockery to your voice.

"That seems to match miss Yo's story. She told me she came running to a power-canceling garden and found all eight of you brutally beaten. How could this have been you when you were clearly hurt before they were?"

You smirked and turned back to the beds.

"Oh, that's just me being me."

Sakura rolled her eyes and frowned.

"I just don't understand. You don't have much power, how could you have done this?"

You were going to scoff, but you realized you were still wearing Felix's necklace. It's probably been eating away at your power all this time.

Well...the hue of your power anyways.

"Right! That's just details. Anyways are we all done here?"

Sakura eyed you up and down before nodding her head. She swiftly walked out of the room leaving you this little sliver of time to flip all of them off, but you didn't do that.

Your eyes grazed over the damage you caused. Every one of their wounds matched the ones they gave you except theirs are deeper, wider, longer. They're practically renewing their life plan every time they take in a haggard breath.

You would've pitied them, but they didn't pity you. They didn't stop when they heard you scream. They didn't stop when they saw tears pouring down your face.

Why should you care? They're bipolar and psychotic.

When you were walking down the hallway for a second time a colorful poster caught your eye. The facility's giving away free hybrids, which is cruel, and they're giving them away today.

The only thing you needed was a partner to donate some blood along with your own.

A partner.

(Imma let that sink in)

A partner.

"THAT'S SO STUPID! I DON'T NEED A MAN TO RAISE A HYBRID!"

Steps, from the room that you had just left, softly made their way beside you. His scent was so sweet for a reason you couldn't pinpoint.

"Look, Y/N, I know you hate me. I hate myself right now for what we've been doing to you and I know this will never be the perfect apology, but I can help you if you'd let me. Let's start over with this hybrid, together."

Your hatred for him definitely wasn't going anywhere, but your need to actually save a life pushed the hate away.

"Only because I want to save these children."

Jimin's arms pulled you tightly towards him, almost like he was excited about this stuff. His happiness almost began to rub off on you, but Sakura showed up out of nowhere with a clipboard.

"Congratulations! It looks like you two are going to have a child! Sign these papers and we'll get everything together as soon as we can."

You gently pushed Jimin away to fill out your side of the paper before handing it to Jimin for his signatures and stuff.

"This is the best way for young people to learn about the responsibility that comes with a child. I feel like this one will be in great hands."

So Jimin's a parent now. I'm a parent now, oh gosh what have I done?

Before you had anymore time to back out, two nurses came racing down the hallway and took a sample of both yours and Jimin's blood.

They were so fast you didn't even feel them take anything, the only evidence was the little blue bandaid plastered on your right thigh.

"I'll help you throughout all of this, okay y/n? Don't force yourself to suffer alone, especially since I'm it's dad!"

You nearly giggled as you rolled your eyes and walked back towards your room.

Jeniveve was still sleeping when you got there so you decided to sleep as well.

Was this all a bad idea?
