PART THREE

Alyson and Mia had woken up for their first day of Welcome Week.  Mia wanted it to be simple considering that's all she had.

Mia dresses in some shorts and a t-shirt. Aly and Mia was in the same hall as her so they walked together in the burning daylight looking for Miller Hall.

"Not gonna lie, we've been around here twice now. We're lost." Mia laughs nervously and scratches her head as she wipes some sweat piercing her forehead.

Alyson smiles, "Nah, we're so close" she tracks the location on her phone and they continue to walk.

After finally finding it, they go inside and Mia takes in a deep breath "God, I will never again."

Alyson laughs, "It was not that bad." she goes to her room and Mia walks upstairs and to the door of her room number. She tries to open the door but it remains locked.

Mia groans softly and bangs on the door.

"Woah... what did the door do to you?"

Mia turns and sees Tristen with a cute little smirk on his face.

"Our class was moved over there. Our Professor never showed up so." Tristen points over there to the door across from them. "Did you not read the email sent out?"

Mia looks down at her phone and back up at him "I.. no" she laughs softly "we took an hour to get here cause maps was acting like a bitch and sent us to the wrong hall."

Mia and Tristen walks in together and finds a empty space on the floor since all the seats were taken.

The Professor was in the middle of a discussion before he saw us walk in and he apologizes for the confusion in rooms before he continued on with his discussions of the rules around campus.

The Professor then pairs them together for a building activity. Mia stands up and grabs the cotton balls and starts to play with them a little.

Tristen looks over, watching her then chuckles, "what's your major?"

"Journalism, you?" Mia looks up at him.

Tristen shrugs "biology... but I can tell this isn't your thing, let me see those" he takes the cotton and uses it to glue it on the Chenille Stems at the bottom to make the stems stand straight before glueing the stems up higher and higher using all of them then smiles and claps.

"All done," Tristen looks over at Mia and whispers "Engineer is in my blood" he whispers

Mia giggles "Being cocky is too." she smiles then looks at the build "but you're not too bad at it."

Tristen nods "I told you. It's in the blood." He shrugs.

The Professor walks around and looks at everyone's then stops at ours and nods "good job guys," he then goes to the group beside us seeing a guy holding his stems up high in the sky and he shakes his head "That doesn't count guys." He walks away.

Mia watches and laughs then looks at Tristen, "where are you from?"

"I'm from California, you?"

"Mississippi... terrible state nobody knows of." Mia shakes her head .

Tristen smiles "I know where Mississippi is.. My step dad is from there actually."

As the class ended for the day, they walked out of the hall and Mia waited for Alyson. "Oh, that's cool I guess. I just know it's boring." She laughs softly

Alyson walks out and sees them and she smiles before coming over "Hey, what's up guys"

Tristen smiles "Hi, you must be Mia's... roommate?"

Aly nods before looking over at Mia "Yelp that's me chief" she starts walking down the steps and towards Canes which was around the street from them. "I'm hungry, Canes?"

Mia and Tristen walks behind her and Mia nods, "I'm fine with that" she looks over at Tristen and he just nods, putting his hands in his pocket.
