The screen turns back on to show MG walking onto the bus

"Unbelievable. I told you to go, not make out with some other dude." MG jokes before realising what is happening.

"Kaleb. What are you doing?" MG asks shocked.

"What's it look like? Eating." Kaleb responds with a chuckle. 

"Oh, my bad. Where's my manners?" He continues showing her neck.

"We're not supposed to..." MG starts.

"Poor baby, he needs better friends." Caroline says looking at him in sympathy.

"Supposed to what? Supposed to be following Lizzie around, like she zapped our asses with some level-ten sad puppy spell, right? Come on. Do your thing." Kaleb says with a smirk.

"I said I'm good. That's a nasty hickey you got. Go home, find a scarf and forget all about today." MG says looking into her eyes.

"Laters, cutie." She says walking by.

"Look, we homies, right? And I ain't hurting anybody. So, secret's ours? Uh, yeah, man. Yeah, sure. Vamps before tramps." Kaleb says before the screen goes off.

The screen turns back on to show Hope & Josie

"Lex? Lizzie?" Josie calls out.

"I'll check the library." Hope says walking towards said place.

"What are you doing here?" Alaric says suddenly behind them.

"Oh, my God. You scared me." Hope says putting her hands back down after almost attacking him.

"Damn, I wanted her to hurt him." Kol mutters upset.

"We aren't questioning how he is alive?" Caroline says making Bonnie nod in agreement.

"Dorian was supposed to keep you away." Alaric says rolling his eyes making her own darken.

"He tried. He lost. But here. Killing Gargoyles 101. He thought you could translate it." She responds throwing the book at him.

"Gaulish. Son of a..." Ric says trailing off.

"So are we are on our own, or did the Gauls provide clear instruction?" Hope asks annoyed.

"In a nutshell, it says hit it hard, repeat as needed." Alaric says before a roar is heard in the distance.

"Is that...?" Hope asks looking around.

"Yeah. Listen, it poisoned Lexi. I'm guessing, to get my attention. Then it attacked me and took the knife." Alaric explains as quick as he can.

"Is she okay?"

"Where is she?" The girls ask panicking.

"I can't answer that until we attack this thing." He says pointing them in a direction to walk.

"I will torture and kill him painfully one day." Stefan says glaring at her treatment behind closed doors.

"Wait, the knife? The dragon knife? And you're still breathing?" Hope asks looking at him disappointed.

"Oh, I have a theory about that." Alaric responds.

"Well, save it, because we had to take down that containment spell to get inside the school, meaning our monster can get out." Hope says.

"A containment spell?" Alaric mutters confused.

"Lizzie & Lexi probably wanted to make sure whatever attacked her didn't escape into the world. Good girls. All right, well, guess we better find it. Before it makes the evening news. So how'd you take the containment spell down?" Alaric says handing Hope an axe.

"She didn't. I did. And I have questions." Josie says taking the axe herself.

The screen changes to show the woods once again

"Who is that?" Landon asks as Jeremy freed them from the chains.

"A werewolf hunter." Jeremy replies with a shrug.

"Is that really a thing?" Rafael asks.

"You're new to this. You probably think that being supernatural gives you the upper hand. It doesn't. This world is a scary place for someone like you, especially when you're dumb enough to use your powers in public." Jeremy answers sternly.

"So, what, you go around saving new werewolves or what?" Landon asks.

"The name's Jeremy. I've known Alaric since I was a kid, and now I work for him sometimes. He told me to track you and make sure that you stay out of trouble, which, apparently, you suck at. And that note? That was supposed to scare you to safety." Jeremy says rolling his eyes.

"Note?" Raf asks confused before he is handed the money.

"I'm gonna go grab the shovels. Once we bury the body, I'll bring you both back to school." Jer says walking away.

"See avoiding drama, I need to do that more often." Jer says looking at his future self.

"What happened to "no more lies"?" Rafael asks shocked.

"You gave up a lot coming out here with me. We were having fun today... The kind of fun you haven't let yourself have since Cassie died. When I saw the note and knew it was all gonna go to hell, I just... I just froze. I'm... I'm sorry, Rafael. I'm sorry. You should go with him. Honestly, you're probably better off without me anyway." Landon answers with a sigh.

"I never thanked you for that. After Cassie... you were there. Like, all in. It might not have seemed like I appreciated it. I did. So let's do what we got to do here. Then let's go back to school." Raf says standing up. 

"They don't want me there." Landon mutters.

"I am not going without you. All in. All in." Raf explains.

The screen resumes showing the girls & Alaric walking through the halls.

 "Emma? Emma." Alaric calls before she opens the door and points behind them. The Gargoyle is now on top of the stairs.

"That thing is hideous." Rebekah says looking at it in disgust making many nod.

It flies down toward Hope, making her fall as Alaric steps in front of her.  

"No! Dad! No!" Josie yells before cutting one of the wings off.

 "Fluctus inpulsa. Josie, help me." Hope says starting a spell.

"How?" She questions.

 "Just repeat after me. Fluctus inpulsa." Hope says grabbing her hand. 

"Fluctus inpulsa. Fluctus inpulsa. Fluctus inpulsa. Fluctus inpulsa. Fluctus inpulsa. Fluctus inpulsa!" They chant until it explodes.

"Nice job." Hope says to Jo.

"How could you jump in front of her like that? You could have died, Dad." Josie says with tears in her eyes.

"Honey, I knew it wouldn't kill me, because my research said so." He explains before she walks off to see her sisters.

Screen resumes in the office.

"How's are they?" Hope asks after she was dragged to the headmaster's office.

"Recovering quickly, thanks to her sister." Alaric answers.

"So, how did you know the gargoyle wouldn't kill you?" Hope asks.

"Gargoyles are protectors. And folklore tells a tale of a gargoyle who once protected a small settlement in France whose villagers revered a powerful relic. A knife. Our knife? As the story goes, the gargoyle loved the humans he protected so much, he vowed never to harm humanity. Instead, he chose to fight evil on their behalf. Me being the evil one in this scenario. Josie, Lexi. In its mind, yes. I realized when it didn't hurt me before it saw me as the one who needed protection." He explains.

"I'm not sure that knowing that will make them feel any better." She replies.

"I should get back to the girls." He says standing up.

"Wait. One more thing. You're always telling us that we need to work together. To put our own feelings aside for the school, for the community. I know I haven't always listened to you with that kind of stuff, but I'm starting to think that it's actually pretty good advice, so... maybe you should take it. Because if you want me and the twins to get along, for them to be happy, for the school to be safe... These secrets are gonna tear us all apart." Hope says as the screen goes off.

The screen turns back on to show an assembly in the dinner hall

"If you'd asked me a week ago...  I would have told you I knew the difference between myth and fact. I would have said that supernaturals were limited to the species under this roof. I would have said that folklore and fairy tales were just stories. But I can no longer say that any of that's true. 'Cause just a few days ago, we were confronted by the existence of a dragon.  And then, today, our campus was terrorized by a gargoyle come to life. Some of us... were forced to fight. We won. This time. They were drawn here by a knife that went missing earlier this week. And for whatever reason, these creatures consider us to be the enemy. In their minds, we're the villains because we won't give them what they want. We don't even know why they want it. But we're gonna find out." Alaric explains as the students murmur.

"Do you think we can catch me one." Kol asks his siblings.

"Catch what?" Elijah asks.

"A dragon." He says with a smile.

"I will put you back in that box." Klaus says watching as his brothers smile turns into a frown.

Now in the office once again.

"You're really trying to kill me, huh?" Dorian asks as Alaric hands him the knife.

"More like you're one of the only people I can trust." Alaric says with a smile. 

"I'll call if I run into any problems. Oh, and I want a raise. With dental." Dorian says making them both laugh.

Now in a hallway showing Jeremy, Landon, & Raf.

"I'll see you later okay." Lexi says making Hope nod and walk away.

"Leaving without even hugging me?" She asks walking up to Jeremy.

"If I had, I would probably be dead." Jer says grabbing her in a hug along with spinning her around.

"Yay, we are friends." Jer says with a smile on his face.

"I missed you kid." He says letting her go.

"I missed you too." She says before he notices her false happiness.

"What's wrong?" He asks with concern written on his face.

"I've been a mess. I miss dad, mom is never here, and henrik is a whole other story." She explains before breaking down in his arms.

"Shhh, I got you kid." He says bringing her to his chest as the screen fades once again.

"I wish I could be there for her." Stefan says trying not to cry making Damon pat his shoulder.

The screen comes back on to show Sasha and Dana waiting in the car.

"He said he'd be here soon." Sasha says looking at the time.

" 'Soon' was an hour ago. The Salvatore School isn't going to deface itself. Call Connor and tell him to get his ass here with the spray paint." Dana complains.

"And come off as needy? No, thanks." Sasha responds.

"You are needy, Sasha. That's why our friendship works." Dana says with a smirk.

"Can the bitch die already?" Rebekah says rolling her eyes.

"I don't have any service." Sasha says looking at her phone.

 "Sorry. I'm on, like, two percent." Dana says making Sasha get out of the car.

As she searches for network, Dana waits in the car listening to music until she hears someone scream.

"Sasha, what are you doing? Sasha, if you and Connor are boning in the woods, I'm gonna kill you." Dana says looking out the windows. 

As she rolls it up, something jumps on the car. As she screams, the screen turns off.

"Well this was something." Caroline says looking at the screen.

(A/N: I am so incredibly sorry for the three month wait. I have been in and out of hospitals recently just to jump back into my first semester of college. I have been in a writing slump and have had no time to write so this chapter took me this long. I will try to update this and some more stories soon but only when I have time.
