Mizz Cakez-Part 2

A few days had passed since he'd been gifted with her number. It's not like he hadn't tried to call; everytime he'd pick up his uncles old rotary phone his hands began to shake like crazy causing him to missdial. Eddie mentally slapped himself, whispering out loud, "Get it together dude." Finally, on the fifth try, he'd been successful and nervously waited for the other side to pick up. It was Friday night, he was sure she was out partying but what if she wasn't? On the 6th ring he was about to hang up, the phone already moving away from his ear but the quiet click of the other phone being picked up halted his actions, "This is Natalie speaking?" He took in a deep breath, "Hi, uh, Natalie. I was trying to reach, (Y/N). Is she home?"

He could hear her chomping on some gum, music blasting from somewhere in the house, "First, can I ask whose calling?" He nodded, "This is Eddie, we-" She cut him off by yelling into the background, "(Y/N), it's that guy you've been talkin' about." Eddie blushed as Natalie turned her voice back into the phone, "I'll hang up once she picks up." Again, he nodded despite knowing she couldn't see. Eddie sat down on the couch, adjusting his sweatpants as he did. It was only a few short moments until her voice reached his ear, "Eddie, you called...I was starting to think you wouldn't." They both heard the click of Natalie hanging up.

He gulped, "Uh, yeah, sorry about that. I-i got busy with the band and am working on a campaign for Hellfire club. Time just kinda got away from me." It wasn't a total lie, he thought as he stared at his current Hellfire notebook. She giggled, putting him at ease, "Chill Munson, you're not on trial. What's the campaign about?"
As Eddie started to delve into his plot for his friends it occurred to him that she hadn't asked what a campaign was; just what it was about, "So have you played D&D before?" He nodded at her response, "Yeah, I used to play with friends a few years back but our friend who always lead moved away and I guess none of us thought we could replace her. So, we just stopped." So the conversation continued and before long Eddie happened to glance at the clock, it read 330am. They'd been on the phone together for over 5 hours. He smiled to himself, "Hey, uh, it's pretty late. I can let you go if you need to get to sleep." (Y/N) apparently hadn't noticed the time, " Oh crap, uh, yeah, sorry! I need to get some sleep. I'm supposed to babysit for tis couple down the street tomorrow from 10am- 10pm. Some adult conference they have going on a few towns over." Eddie was oddly disappointed but understood at the same time, "Yeah, yeah, got to have energy to keep up with those kiddos." She laughed, "Exactly. Well, I enjoyed getting to know you a bit more. We'll talk again soon?" Eddie bit his lip before answering, "Totally, I look forward to it. Goodnight, (Y/N)." She replied back, "Goodnight Eddie, sleep well." The phone clicked and Eddie slowly hung up the phone before sighing and clapping his hands together. "Well, guess I'll go to bed too."
