Long Island Iced Tea

They don't remember my name,

Serving the best to the table.

holding a golden bait decorated with wonderful words,

They know where I came from.

Sparkling and overloaded bounty,

They move like mercenaries in the night.

Just for a second,

They rush through your bloodline to your brain.

Don't ask me a question,

They drive faster than 90 on 4-0-5.

Calm myself down,

They steal my memories away after midnight.

Am I talking to myself,

They laugh at whatever and whenever.

At exactly twelve-oh-one,

I have laughed at what I have left in my soul.

My memories were fading away for minutes and hours.

Realizing I was a million miles away from 405,

My bloodline floats slowly to my fingertips.

My brain pointed out the only path in the dark.

Following the LED lights that once led me here,

I saw the inescapable bartenders.

Watching they handing over a thin paper disc,

The only thing I wanted,

sitting all alone,

A Long Island Iced Tea.
