It was a few days after the training incident and Zatanna was making good on her promise to show Wanda how to control her abilities. The rest of the team was gathered around the training room, having nothing better to do than watch.

Zatanna sat Wanda down in the middle of the floor sitting across from her in crisscross position. "Now, Wanda, what I want you to do is close your eyes and clear your head. Focus on your breathing." Wanda was skeptical but did as she was instructed. "Good, we are going to stay like this for five minutes b-"

"Five minutes?!" Wanda groaned.

Zatanna chuckled. "It takes some time to clear your head and you need a clear head before we can start on the abilities." Wanda huffed dramatically but closed her eyes once more.

As the two girls were breathing in the middle of the room, Artemis leaned over to Wally and whispered lowly so only he could hear. "Do you think Zatanna can do it? I mean, Wanda showed little control over her powers the other day..."

"And you showed little control over your anger at first, but look how far you've come." Wally's smirk grew when Artemis glared at him. "Have a little faith, Z can do this."

"If you say so..."

After a few more minutes had passed, Zatanna opened her eyes and looked up at Wanda. "Is your mind clear?" Wanda nodded, opening her eyes slowly. Zatanna smiled, helping Wanda to her feet. "So, what I want to try first is your ability to fire psionic energy blasts. You see that piece of wall over there? Hit it with a small blast."

Wanda narrowed her eyes at the rock, pursing her lips. "Child's play."

She aimed her hands at the rock and summoned the energy within her, her hands beginning to glow scarlet. The team held their breath, watching as Wanda released a blast of energy at the rock, shaking the mountain upon impact.

"Not bad, not bad. You hit your target but I said a small blast. You shouldn't have rocked the mountain with a small blast." Wanda looked down and Zatanna sighed internally. "Its okay, you did very good for a start. Now, how about we go on to your telekinesis?"

Wanda nodded. "What would you like me to do?"

"Put the rock back in place."

Wanda rolled her eyes a bit before turning back to the pile of rock. She concentrated on lifting the rock back up and reforming it into the mountain, doing so flawlessly.

Zatanna and the team were impressed. "To be honest, I was a little skeptical that you would be able to do it. I mean, that is a lot of rock to put back and given your track record, I expected you to just lift it in the air." Wanda chuckled. "I'm impressed, you did good. Now, want to try your telepathy?"

Wanda looked visibly frightened. "N-no. Last time I used my telepathy, I was shocked."

Zatanna puta hand on Wanda's forearm. "We aren't going to zap you, I promise." Wanda hesitated before nodding slowly. "Okay, what I want you to do is to break into our telepathic mind link."

The team looked over at Zatanna but she waved them off.

Guys, if she doesn't have that good of control over her powers, she won't be able to do it.

Wanda looked over at the group before nodding. Her eyes began to glow scarlet as she focused her mind on infiltrating the mind link.

Woah, have we seen her eyes like that before?!

No, but they look pretty badass.

No, Batman.

Ooh, she's sassy. I like.

Zatanna turned to the team with a raised brow in an impressed manor. The team shrugged back. Zatanna looked over at Wanda to see her fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.

Wanda, its okay. You did great work here today! You should be proud of yourself.

Are you...are you sure no one is mad at me?

Why would we be mad at you? Zatanna told you to do it, if anything we would be mad at her.

Wanda's eyes widened.

Please do not be mad at Zatanna! She was just trying to help me!

Wanda, relax, nobody is actually mad at Z.

Wanda nodded before furrowing her brow.

Wait, your name and code name are the same, Artemis?

So?

How do you know her name?

She is telepathically linked to us, remember? She now knows all of our names.

Wanda turned to Conner with a look of sorrow. She walked up to him and placed her hand on his arm. "I am sorry you had to endure Cadmus as well."

Conner shrugged. "I was asleep for most of it."

Wanda looked to the ground. "Lucky you."

An idea popped into M'gann's mind. "Hey! We should see if Batman and the League will let you be apart of the team!"

Wanda looked flabbergasted. "You...you want me on the team? Why?"

Wally shrugged. "You're powerful and cool and you already know our secret identities, so why not? You'll need a code name though."

Wanda groaned. "Anything but Project Mx..."

The team looked horrified. "We would never give that to you as a codename!"

They fell silent as they thought it over, Jason snapping his fingers. "I've got it!"

"Care to share?"

"We can call you...the Scarlet Witch."

Everyone thought it over. "Why?"

"Think about it! Her powers are scarlet colored and have a magical like quality to them, plus the name just sounds cool. It will strike fear into the hearts of our enemies."

Wanda snorted. "I am hardly a scary person."

"Last night you had a nightmare and all the furniture in your room was flying all over the place poltergeist style...you can be scary."

Wanda conceded. "Scarlet Witch...I like it."

The team grinned, gathering around their newest member. "Welcome to the squad!"

"Don't we need the League's permission?"

Artemis scoffed. "First rule of the squad, never ask permission."
