Thirty Eight ➵ Party

"Are you busy tonight?" I ask Joshua curiously.

He sits up and looks at me whilst nodding. "Yeah, the boys and I are going to a friend's party,"

"Who's party?"

"Jimin's,"

"Am I not invited?" I ask, only half joking.

"I don't really think you should go," he sighs and I frown. "There's going to be loads of drunk people there, and they're going to be a lot older than you,"

"I'm not a child. I'm seventeen, Joshua,"

"Areum," he sighs.

"Please." I pout and he shakes his head before smiling slightly.

"Fine."

"Yey," I squeal and smile.

"But you need to stay by me the whole time," he orders and I nod, obliging.

Around an hour later, I begin to change for the party. I decide to wear blue, ripped jeans and a red long sleeved shirt. Joshua changes into a pair of tight black jeans which are extremely pleasing to the eye, and an oversized white shirt that he once left at my house.

"Where is the party being held?" I ask as I check my hair one more time.

"At Jimin's house, it's only around fifteen minutes away,"

I nod. "Okay,"

"Dino, are you coming?" Joshua asks as we reach the front the door of my house.

He appears by the doorframe and nods. "Yeah, I'm ready,"

It doesn't take long for Joshua to drive us to Jimin's home, and when we reach it, the sound of loud music from inside becomes prominent and people are filling the large house.

"Remember, stay close to me," Joshua says lowly into my ear, and I check Dino didn't hear before nodding.

I hold his hand tightly as we make our way into the building. I see Mingyu, Wonwoo, Jeonghan and Hoshi already here, sitting in a room with Jimin, who looks just as good as I remember.

"Hey," Joshua shouts over the music and Jimin turns around, his kind eyes on show and his memorable smile on his face.

"Ah, Areum, Dino, Joshua, I'm glad you could all make it," He admits and hugs us all individually, Joshua not detaching his hand from mine.

Around an hour or so into the party, and almost two full cups of an unknown drink later, Jimin calls for all the guests in the room to sit in a large circle. We do, and when he places and empty glass in the centre of us, I know what's ahead.

"Spin the bottle time, everyone," He laughs loudly, most likely drunk already.

He spins it, and I watch as the bottle slowly lands onto an unfamiliar girl who blushes. He shrugs and moves forward, kissing her as everybody whistles.

Next, Wonwoo leans forward and spins it and everyone gasps whilst laughing as it lands on Mingyu.

But then I remember, Mingyu is bisexual. I look at him with wide eyes as he glances at me, panicked. It's his first time ever kissing a boy.

"Well, we are best friends." Wonwoo chuckles, probably functioning off only alcohol and crawls towards a panick-stricken Mingyu.

Everyone shouts and whistles as Wonwoo connects his lips with Mingyu's, and I can't help but laugh when I notice Mingyu's eyes grow impossibly wider.

"That's enough, boys." Jimin laughs and jokingly pushes them off each other.

"Next!" A random boy shouts and passes the bottle to me.

I shake my head and place it back into the middle. "I'm not playing, I have a boyfriend."

"Lighten up a little, Areum." Jimin laughs and I glance at Joshua who only smiles.

"It's okay, I don't mind. It's only a game." He insists and I smile, grateful that he trusts me to this extent.

I shrug and spin the bottle, watching anxiously as it slowly stops, landing on Vernon who I know hasn't had one ounce of alcohol.

I look at Joshua once more before leaning forward and kissing him. It feels weird, like I'm kissing my brother or something which makes me cringe. I pull away and laugh, nevertheless and Joshua doesn't look annoyed which I'm grateful for.

"That was weird." Vernon chuckles and I nod, agreeing.

"I'm next." Joshua announces and spins the bottle.

My heart drops when it lands on a rather attractive brunette opposite him. I assume she's one of Jimin's friends. He glances towards me and I force a smile, nodding, although the jealousy that burns inside of me is rapidly increasing.

He trusted me, so it's only right for me to return it.

My heart shatters when their lips meet, and I force myself to look away. I feel something in my chest that I've never felt before. A deep sense of anger, jealousy and sadness, all merged into one.

"That's enough, Josh." Dino says after only a few seconds and pulls them away.

"Sorry about that," he whispers into my ear when he sits beside me again.

"It's alright, honestly," I say and he nods.

The game continues and multiple more kisses are shared. Luckily Joshua hasn't had to kiss anybody else which I'm glad about.

"I'm just going to the toilet." I say quietly into Joshua's ear and begin to search through Jimin's large house.

I finally find the bathroom and do my business before stepping back outside, shocked to see Jimin leaning against the doorframe.

"Hey," I smile.

"I saw your face when Joshua kissed that girl. Aren't you angry?" He asks and I frown although I know he's right.

Why would he even ask that?

"I guess so, but he trusted me and I trust him," I say confidently.

"I would never do that to you," he says quietly and leans forward.

Before my mind can comprehend what he's doing, I feel his lips against mine. When my mind registers what's happening, I push my hands against his shoulders and push him off me.

"What are you doing?" I hiss and glare at him.

Before he has the opportunity to respond, I glance to my side and see Joshua at the end of the corridor, with a disheartened and gutted expression on his face.
