Togemon in Toy Town

We were waling down the sewer pipes along the concrete walkway, but I wasn't really paying attention to the conversations being held by the others.

I was more focused on what Andromon told me.

What would I need to remember? Had I really been to the Digital World before? Abd if so, why wouldn't I remember it?

My questioning thoughts were interrupted by Mimi singing way off key.

"Mimi, you're way off tone." Joe commented and groaned.

"Oh, come on, I've had singing lessons for three years." Mimi said happily.

Tk gasped, "Woah, did they help?" He asked, I lightly spapped his shoudler.

"Be nice, Tk. She's learning." I said.

"Ha! Mimi, you should get a refund. That's what I would do." Izzy said.

"Then let's sing as a group." Sora suggested.

Tk shook his head and playfully tugged my arm.

"No way! Raya should sing us a song!" He said. My face immediately turned red and burned.

Everyone looked at us confused, "Raya can sing?" Tai asked.

"Yeah," Matt answered, "She used to sing Tk to sleep when we slept over at her house. And let me tell ya, he had neevr slept better than when she swould sing."

I lowered my head, hiding my burning face from their view.

"Really? She's that good huh? Come on Raya, let's hear you." Izzy said.

"N-no, I can't. I haven't sung in forever." I stammered.

"Come on, Raya! Sing that little lullaby you used to sing me. You know the one." Tk almost begged.

Knowing that no one would stop asking for my song, I reluctantly took a breath in, closed my eyes and began singing

I stopped after the song and opened my eyes to see a surprising sight.

Sora was in near tears, while Mimi, Palmon and Luna, who was in my arms, were silently sobbing.

The boys, excpet for Tk were stunned by my song.

"Raya..." Sora gasped.

"I know, I know. I haven't sung in a while, so I'm rusty." I said.

"If that's rusty, then I want to hear what you sound like when you're not!" Tai exclaimed, "Raya that was amazing!"

I rubbed the back of my head and bashfully hid my face.

"Thanks you guys. I really appreciate the compliments. I only got them back home from my parents."

The topic of home really got to my friends as they thought back to our planet.

"Man, I really miss home." Sora said, "I would sing while I was doing my chores, and loudly when I would hang the clothes to dry."

"It's okay to miss your home." Agumon said, "What do you miss Tai?"

"Well, I miss playing sports then taking a nice hot bath." Tai said.

"Games." Tk said, "I miss my games. I wasn't too far from beating Matt in my video games."

"Beating me, Tk? Yeah, I don't think so." The older blond teased, laughing at the younger boy.

"So, you don't miss anything from home, Matt?" Tai asked.

"Well, actually now that you mention it... I've been dreaming about Sundays. When mom grilled us steaks and Raya would make her famous chocolate cake. Mmm! Makes my mouth water."

"So, you're dreaming about Raya?" Tai teased, making the blonde blush furiously.

"I miss going my homework." Joe said, "If I fall too far behind, I might have to go to a junior college."

"I don't miss school." Mimi said, "But I do miss going on vacation. Nothing beats having a cool drink on a summer day at the beach! I just love the ocean air."

I smiled amd laughed as everyone kept talking about their lives back home.

"Get a grip." Izzy said, "I miss hacking into satellites to look at the stars."

We all sighed, thinking back on our home and what we missed the most.

"What about you, Raya? What do you miss the most from home?" Joe asked.

I thought for a moment before saying, "I miss my mom and dad. But mostly, I miss everything about Earth. The air, the waters, even the noise of the city."

"They really do come another world." Agumon said.

All of a sudden, we heard something grumbling from down the sewer pipe.

Looking doen from where we came, we sae a bunch of green blobs running down the waters.

"Numemon." Gabumon said.

"What's a Numemon?" Tai asked.

"They're disgusting digimon that live down here in the sewers." Gomamon said.

"That's gross." Tai said.

"And so are they." Tentomon added.

"Are they really strong?" Tk asked.

"No, they're weak but smelly just wait till they get closer."

"Then what do you say we leave?" Joe said.

I held Luna closer to my chest as the Numemon ran faster and faster.

We all ran down the sewer pipes, when they began throwing things at us.

They threw pink globs of slime straight at us. We turned down to the left, but the Kumamon continued to follow us until we came to an exit.

They retreated from thr bright sun screaming.

"The only thing that's able to drive them off is sunlight." Agumon informed us.

We walked away from the sewer pipes and walked for miles without a break, when we spotted something very interesting.

A field full of vending machines.

"There must a thousand of them!" Mimi gasped.

"I'd say under a hundred." Joe said.

"Or maybe even just fifty." Izzy commented.

"How did they get there?" Tk asked.

"I'll bet there's enough snacks to last us a lifetime, at least." Mimi said.

"Mimi, they probably don't work." Tai said.

"Yeah, Mimi. Remember the telephone booths? I think this could be a trick." I said.

"Listen to Raya, she's ususally right about these types of things." Luna said from my arms.

But, like Mimi does, she ignored reason and rushed to the vending machines with Palmon not too far behind.

Once she made it to a machine, my old scars began to ache.

I placed one of my hands on my shoulder where one of my scars was and flinched at the pain.

"You okay, Raya?" Matt asked me from behind.

I turned my head around and amiled like I always did so no one would worry.

"I'm perfectly fine. Just a bad feeling about this situation."

My bad feeling proved to be right when Mimi began screaming because a Numemon slinging pink aludge at her.

"Mimi!" I shouted, running down the hill and towards the pink clad girl. Suddenly, from the other vending machines, several more Numemon came out and rushed towards our group.

We ran screaming away from the Numemon.

"All right everybody, let's split up." Matt said. We did as told and split into several different groups.

I went off on my own, thinking it would be safer for everyone else.

But as I was running, I felt the ground shake. The Numemon stopped chasing me as soon as they felt the terrible trembling.

Stopping in my tracks, I turned around and saw what made them stop. Right in front of me was a large yellow teddy bear with bright red eyes.

He looked down on us and smiled, "Raya! Have you come for another visit to Toy Town?"

I was confused. This digimon knew me too? And what the heck was Toy Town?

Just then, he picked me up in his giant paw, making me drop Luna.

"Monzemon, you put Raya down right now!" She shouted.

He growled and opened his arms, shooting out blue hearts with captured Luna and I.

I felt sleepy all of a sudden and couldn't help but close my eyes as I drifted to sleep.

"Monzemon, why do you take all these toys and keep them here?"

"Because, the toys are terribly sad when they are thrown away. So I bring them here where they can play all the time."

"That's a good thing to do, Monzemon."

"Speaking of good, I have something for you."

"Really? What is it?"

"Here you go."

"Wow, Monzemon! I love it! This bear os so cute!"

"I'm glad you like it."

Mimi and Palmon were wondering how to defeat Monzemon, when the giant bear came aeound the corner with hands full of bear shaped balloons.

"It's such a happy day in Toy Town." He said happily, "You'll like these, everyone loves the balloons."

"Hey, Yeti Teddy! Whatever you've don't to my friends, fix it now! Or you'll be in big trouble!" Mimi demanded, but that only angered Monzemon.

His eyes glowed a brighter red. He let go of the balloons, which revealed something on his shoulder.

Mimi and Palmon gasped when they saw me holding a small white teddy bear in my arms and Lunamon by my side.

Although, unlike the others who ran around with the other toys, I was still asleep.

Monzemon shot lasers at Mimi and Palmon as they ran as fast as they could.

But then, the Numemon came to help, surprising the two. But the Numemon were quickly taken down.

Palmon ran to help, but her poison ivy wasn't strong enough.

The Numemon protected them again with theit own bodies from the hearts attack Monzemon used.

Palmon was so enraged, that it changed something in her.

Mimi's digivice began to glow, and so did Palmon as it was finally her turn to take it to the next level.

"Palmon! Digivolve to.... Togemon!"

Instead of the small plant like diigmon in front of her, Mimi gazed upon a large cactus with a tuft of orange hair and red boxing gloves.

"You wanna dance with me?" Togemon asked, growling at the yelloe bear in front of her.

It was a fist fight for the history book everybody. These two were going at it like cats and dogs.

Togemon fired her needle spray attack, ripping Monzemon's fabric and releasing the black gear.

It wasn't long before everyone was free frol the spell, and the trunk where the digimon were hidden.

However, I refused to wake up.

Monzemon told everyone the story on why he brought all of us here. He wanted the children who threw away their toys to walk in their shoes.

So instead of the toys being played with, it was the toys who played with the children.

After the explanation, Matt and Tk tried to wake me up, but failed.

"Don't wake her up. She's been through a lot." Monzemon said.

"What are you talking about?" Sora asked.

"Raya would always hold that bear and go to sleep when she was feeling stressed with her duties." The bear replied.

"Her duties?" Matt repeated, "What are you talking about?"

"I can't tell you, Raya needs to remember on her own. But please, allow her to keep the bear, she'll need it. And allow to thank you for freeing me by giving you all a real heart hug."

Monzemon stood up and fired red hearts at everyone, including my sleepung self.

I smiled, curling up around my little white bear. Even in my sleep, I could feel the wonderful feeling of live and joy from the soft attack.
