Demons Don't Make Good Study Buddies

"Cecilia, I would appreciate it if you could let me concentrate on my work," Bee scolds the demon perched at the end of her bed. In retaliation to their request, the pesky spirit chucks a crumpled up piece of paper at the scowling teen. The paper hits them between their eyes and Bee shoots a look of vexation at Cecilia.

"You act as though I'll stop just because you command me to," the demon laughs in a mocking tone. She continues to rip sheets of paper out of the notebook for the sake of throwing them. "I do not serve you, I only serve Lucifer below."

Cecilia was a nightmare at times like this. A sardonic, obnoxious nightmare with horns.

"Is that so?" Bee questions, trying to control her steadily growing irritation. "Who's making you stay here then? I'm sure Mister Mephistopheles has some job he wants you to take care of." They turn back their work, Only to get assaulted once again by other various objects the demon could find.

"He's got more than enough help as it is. I would only get in the way," she replies dryly and tosses an eraser at the annoyed teen. "Besides, you're far more fun to torture, my dear."

Bee makes a face at the endearment, finding it strange to be dubbed that by a so-called "evil spirit". Or anyone actually, other people had never been Bee's strong suit. They remember what their mother had always told them before: "You're like a lone wolf." Meaning, of course, that Bee never actually had many friends, which she had tried to encourage her to change, again and again.

What would she think of her child's only friend being a demon, whose favorite pastime was pestering the person who summoned it? On one hand, she may be open to the idea of Bee socializing with Satanic creatures of the demon variety; however, she might call an exorcist. It's not difficult for Bee to decide which outcome is more likely.

While they're contemplating their mother's hypothetical reaction, Cecilia crawls off of the bed stealthily. Bee notices the demon's weight shift off of the bed and sighs, figuring she got up to find more things to mess with.

As they stare at their textbook, cursing them self for not starting their work earlier, until a noise distracts them. It's a low, growling sound that seems to come from above them. They glance up from their paper before craning their neck to look up at the ceiling. Cecilia grins back down at them, her palms pressed flat against the plaster, as the rest of her body hovers just below its surface. Her vessel's eyes turn from their natural hazel to black which spreads beyond the iris, filling them completely. She bares large fangs and her horns protrude from beneath her dark hair, giving her a frightening appearance as she snarls.

Bee watches her with a bored expression, having been subjected to this several times before. Admittedly, it had scared them the first few times, but after a while it got old. "Cecilia, get down from there," they chastise their friend, snapping their fingers the way you would to a pet.

With a roll of her eyes, Cecilia retracts her fangs and horns before allowing herself to fall back on to the bed. Bouncing from the impact, Bee grabs for all their materials before shooting a harsh look at the demon. While Cecilia laughs at their human friend's expression, Bee wraps a packet of papers into a roll and swats at the demon's nose.

"All you do is cause trouble," they mumble, trying hard not to laugh.

"Then why haven't you kicked me out?" The devilish girl asks, propping her chin up on her hands and grinning.

"Well, then I'd be alone again," Bee says, not letting their voice grow louder than a whisper. They stare down at their book again, hoping that Cecilia doesn't notice the blush creeping up their neck.

Cecilia laughs before crawling up to sit right in front of the human. She nudges her friend's leg with her foot while giving her a fond smile. "Well, I know that we can't have that, right Bee?"

"Right."
