Chapter One

Chapter One -  First Encounter.

The snow fell deeply, as a white blanket stretched as far as the eye could see. Madara shivered from the cold breeze; even after wearing so many layers, the icy air still managed to kiss his skin.
His breath was shaky, his muscles screamed for him to collapse and rest -but on his will alone, did he push through the snow. With his severely injured brother on his back, Madara hoped that son he would reach the Uchiha camp. All in means to save one of the last two little brothers he had left.

The boy walked until he hit a clearance of the forest, an open area of a white field. He looked around desperately, he didn't sense any sort of ambush awaiting him, but still managed to feel uneasy. He wanted to avoid going across at all costs, but with his injured brother the only way round the situation was going through.

Holding the uneasy feeling back, he stepped out into the open, keeping a weary eye as he travel. He scanned around once, no danger to be seen, heard or sensed.
And yet when looking once more, he saw a strange woman standing in the middle of the field holding her hand out, as if trying to capture the light flakes that floated gently around them. How could he have not seen her standing there?

He hesitated for but a second before stepping back out of the clearance and behind a tree that would conceal both him and his brother. With a gentle touch he placed his brother down, checking him over once before glancing out into the open once more.
Only to find the woman had disappeared from his vision. Had he imagined it?

But here was no imagination involved when he turned to see the woman was crouched in front of his brother. Just staring.
"Getaway from him!" Madara growled, pulling out one of his last kunai.
The woman didn't flinch, only glanced at the boy who threatened them.Slowly, the woman stood taking a single step away from the brother. Madara felt the slightest bit flabbergasted that this woman did exactly what he said, but still felt his guard rising.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Madara demanded, still holding the kunai up and ready for battle.
The woman didn't speak for a moment, as her dull silver eyes flickered down to his brother. Madara felt a seeping dread filling him, as this woman could've been apart of the Hashirama clan, there to finish the job.
"My name is of no importance to you." Her hand placed itself on the hilt of her katana. Madara stood back being ready to fight if he had to. However the woman made no indication of wanting to fight with him. But instead made a move to pull out something that was tied to her waist. A lantern
Madara noticed the lantern had yet to be lit.
"The sands of time trickle, his time has come to embrace death." Her words were sharper than any kunai and it boiled the anger within the little boy.
"No! He isn't going to die! Now get out of my way." He ordered and again the woman moved slightly aside, so Madara could quickly take his brother. Though cautious, he picked up his still breathing brother struggling to put him on his back once more and pushed on,but was once again stopped by the woman's words.
"Time will pass and seasons will come and go. Treat your time how you will. But do not forsake other's."
But as Madara looked back, the woman was nowhere to be seen. What could she have meant by that? He thought. But shook all thoughts and hurried off back to the Uchiha camp.

Though Madara didn't want to believe it the woman was right. His little brother released his last breath as they arrived within the medical tent. Saddened as he was, he let no grief become known on the surface. He couldn't say much for his other brother.

That was the last he ever remembered of that woman. Who she was, what she was doing were all unanswered questions in his memory. Only had he heard faint whispers of a strange woman in white, he believed this to be her.
However the clash with the Senju clan never seized; the battle and bloodshed continued on for what seemed like a whole eternity. It came crashing down when his only brother received a fatal wound from the opposition; Tobirama Senju.

Madara left his brother in the medical ninja and was forced to wait outside the tent. And that's where he stayed, he didn't move from that spot outside the tent.
Nightfall soon came, and Madara still waited. Hearing the grunts of pain and mutters put him on edge, he worried for his only brother, hoping that he could live on and fight along side him once more.

"Time moves one direction, while memories travel another." He heard a voice say next to him, which in turn caused him to flinch and pull out kunai as protection against whoever invaded. And there before him was the woman in white; her lantern tied to her obi.
"You..." Was all he could make out, lowering his kunai knowing that she wasn't much of a threat.
The woman glanced to him, her dull eyes ever the same. But they soon returned to the slightly open curtains, Madara followed her eyes, and she began to speak. Her words matched those that seemed to come out one of the doctors mouth.
"We have exhausted everything, the wound is much too fatal. He has only precious little time left."
It was just like how it felt the first time she gave grave news. Another wound that cannot be healed within Madara.

"How much time...?" He asked aloud to the woman.
She slowly took hold of her hour glass and showed him, there wasn't much time left. Perhaps only a few days left.
Silence reigned between the two, how he wish he could reverse what was happening.
Soon the medics came out as she disappeared and explained; but it didn't hurt as much as when she told him.

Madara sat by Izuna's side, who was unconscious. He watched his little brother with a mindful eye, wishing and praying that this wasn't the reality he lived in and was only a dream.
Another presence entered the tent, but due to the sheer quietness of the person he knew it to be her.
"Who are you?" He asked through gritted teeth not even bothering to look at the woman in white.
"I am death." It was almost a whisper, but Madara heard it. At first he didn't believe it, he couldn't! Whatkind of children's tale was she reciting? Was his thoughts, but when it really came down to it, he knew it to be true.
A grunt of great pain came from Izuna, causing Madara to instinctively look over him, finding that he was still asleep.

The woman glided over to the other side of Izuna, she also looked over him finding his source of pain. As she lifted her hand to touch Izuna did she stop, Madara glared at her, she had dared to attempt to touch Izuna. "Don't you dare touch my brother." He snarled at her. However she was still unmoved by him.
"I will ease the pain for him... would you rather see him sleep suffering as he is? Or would you rather let him rest peacefully while he still can?" She asked.
"How could you ease the pain? They did whatever they could to ease it enough. I don't want you touching him." He stated. Furrowing her eyebrows came as her answer along with her hand returning to her side.
"Have it your way. But..." She began untying the hourglass from her obi, placing it carefully on the table beside Izuna. "This is his life and what he has left. Even if you were to turn it, it will always be the same...When the last grain of sand falls, I will return."
To say Madara was infuriated was an understatement. He wanted to yell and scream at her, however she didn't stay long enough for him to do so, as she glided out of the tent without another moments notice.

Madara grunted while looking back to his brother, his eyes flickering a moment to the hourglass she left. If that was measuring Izuna's life, what would happen if I reversed it? Madara thought. As he turned the hourglass he was startled. The sand was still flowing but was flowing up into the bottom half of the hourglass. But nothing had changed.

Izuna's time was limited now.
