Episode 10: Regret vs Sora

(A/N: This is one of the fights I've been raring to write, so I decided to write it as gloriously as possible.)

Zenonia vs. Kingdom Hearts! Two children of the light enter the battlefield, but among the Holy Knight and the Keybearer, who will leave alive?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Wiz: That was...slightly less satisfying than I'd expected.

Boomstick: *pained moan*

Wiz: Well, I still feel kind of empty. It's highly unlikely I'll get any more dates at all...

Boomstick: *moan* That's 'cause of that GIANT MECHANICAL ARM YOU'VE GOT. I mean, come on! Let's just get on with the show.

Wiz: *long pause* *groan* Fine. ...When the world is plunged into danger, sometimes you can't expect a knight in shining armor to come to its rescue. But rather, a child with a pure heart...and a ridiculous hairstyle and weapon...may always swoop in to save the day.

Boomstick: Like Regret, the wandering Holy Knight!

Wiz: And Sora, the Keyblade-wielding protector of hearts. Since both combatants use wide, player-customizable arsenals, they will be bringing along their most iconic and/or powerful weapons and abilities. As for Regret, his Warrior class in Zenonia 1 will be used, and we'll assume all of his active and passive abilities are maxed out.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win...a Death Battle.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

REGRET

Wiz: In the war-ravaged land of Zenonia, a child was born and left in the middle of the battlefield. His destiny would be intertwined with the world's, for as the seed of all chaos, he would either save the world or plunge it to ruin.

Boomstick: Uuuntil a member of the Armed Salvation Army picked Baby Potential World-Wrecker and raised him as his own. Way to go, Wilfred or Pardon or something.

Wiz: The child was picked up by Commander Dupre of the Holy Knights, who retired from his service to raise said child, who he eventually named Regret.

Boomstick: Things were looking up for father and son, aaaand then some demon landed from the sky and murdered the sh*t out of Pardon--

Wiz: DUPRE, Boomstick! His name is DUPRE!

Boomstick: The townspeople called him PARDON!

Wiz: But his character card calls him DUPRE!

Boomstick: Well, I call YOU Commander SH*THEAD!

*Intermission*

Boomstick: Well, people, I realize I was wrong, and I take full responsibility for it. I played the opening and found out that Regret's father is, in fact, actually named Commander Dupre. I also concede that my co-host Wizard is correct. *strained laugh*

Wiz: *lowers mechanical arm, still smirking* Good. *clears throat* Left an orphan to fend for himself, Regret was shunned by his neighbors, while the others were just plain annoyed at his presence.

Boomstick: And then some dude named Billy ordered him to take a hike to the town of Adonis. Buuut Billy was actually a spy for the Dragon Clan and was selling out secrets to the Evil Bruce Lees.

Wiz: Upon his arrival, Regret ran into a girl named Sun, who would later become part of his destiny...

Boomstick: Awww, they look so cute together!

Wiz: Actually, Boomstick, Regret and Sun are technically brother and sister.

Boomstick: Oh, come on!

Wiz: Afterwards, he stumbled upon a battle between a Holy Knight and a Dragon Clan warrior. This was the time when Regret would choose whether he'd join the forces of the light or of the dark.

Boomstick: And like a true main character, he chose the good side mainly because their armor looked cooler.

Wiz: Due to his desire to know the truth about his father's death, Regret joined the Holy Knights, and from time to time clashed with some of the Dragon Clan's greatest warriors. For this reason, Regret was respected as a force to be reckoned with.

Boomstick: Partially thanks to his abilities. I'm talking giant sword beams, flipping, crashing and flipping, summoning meteors and...flipping, and a shout that induces panic within any surrounding foe...including floating books and swords for some reason.

Wiz: Regret can also activate Blessed Armor, a mode which increases his defense for a period of time. He also has access to Berserk Spirit, which increases damage at the cost of defense. Take note, all of these active abilities rely on Regret's stamina, and as a result, cannot be used consecutively.

Boomstick: And then there's the RTS standard: passive abilities. Seriously, Gamevil, this is an RPG, for crying out loud!

Wiz: Grace of the Crow grants Regret enhanced evasion; Focus of the Archer gives Regret near-perfect accuracy, meaning Regret almost never misses; Wrath of the Dragon amplifies Regret's already insane attack strength; Eye of the Lynx increases chances of a critical hit; Recovery of the Eagle speeds up stamina recovery--

Boomstick: Seriously, can't they just call it Natural Battery or The Gatorade Within or something?

Wiz: Boomstick... Uh, lastly, Howl of the Lion increases the damage dealt by critical hits. When maxed out, all of Regret's abilities increase in increments, though ten times.

Boomstick: But none of that sh*t ever compares to Regret's main tool of destruction, the giant blade known as, and I kid you not, the Dagger of Light. With a single swing of this ironically-named sword, Regret can cleave through a poor demon, along with any bat shaped like a raindrop, fire trap, golem, werewolf with an axe, or anyone else who happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Wiz: With his strength, Regret can swing this enormous blade much faster than a regular man, though this ever so slightly decreases his movement speed. However, Regret more than compensates for this with his sheer strength and the acrobatics displayed by his active skills.

Boomstick: Buuut being the seed of all chaos and harboring a rogue demon has its merits. Like a super mode that makes Regret impervious to damage!

Wiz: This Archangel Mode slightly heals Regret every time an opponent strikes him, and grants near-invincibility. The trade-off is that it can only last for a short period of time, cannot be upgraded, and cannot be used consecutively.

Boomstick: Regret is a walking, talking, feat-achieving machine with a huge-ass sword. He single-handedly took down the Dragon Clan; defeated Ladon, the king of all demons; kept ALL of his screws in the Shrine of Betrayal, which makes ANYONE insane; and beat the demon who'd been camping inside him as the seed of chaos.

Wiz: Though at the cost of his life. You see, Osiris is connected to Regret, being the seed of all chaos, and when one dies, the other must go as well...though Lady Charity did save Regret's life at the cost of her own. Talk about anticlimactic. In his later years, Regret went on to adopt a son of his own named Chael, but by the end of Zenonia 3, Regret...died.

Boomstick: But Regret ain't perfect. You know, apart from the whole world-wrecker demon inside him thing. Regret's active skills run on stamina, and using them makes him run out of it in a fast rate. Plus, there's a limit to how much punishment he can take despite the augments given by his skills.

Wiz: Plus, while powerful, Regret's sword is not indestructible. When used for a very long time, the blade's durability decreases. And over time, the blade will snap.

Boomstick: But Regret is a guy you'd best not f*ck around with. Hell, if he can single-handedly annihilate the lord of all demons and the seed of chaos, what chance do you think you have?

Osiris: Did you already forget? We might look apart...but I am what you've created! I am the reflection of your soul! We cannot exist apart! If I cease to exist...so will you!

Regret: I remember one thing...the choice...the sacrifice that my father made... *draws sword* I will not betray the faith he has in me.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

SORA

Wiz: Long ago, the safety of the world lay in the hands of the true Keyblade Masters. They would fight using their weapons of legend to keep light and darkness in balance.

Boomstick: Aaaand then some bald old guy showed up and straight-up killed one of them and ruined the lives of three more. How'd he do it, you ask? You know, just possessing one, putting another's heart to sleep, and tossing the last one to the realm of darkness. Or rather, forcing her to get stuck in the realm of darkness. In a way.

Wiz: The world's safety now lay in the hands of two very young children living in the Destiny Islands. Ten years later, these children would discover their ability to wield the Keyblade. However, one of them fell into the darkness, and the other swore to save him at all costs and restore his world.

Boomstick: And who's the fifteen-year-old who's crazy enough to save the worlds by whacking monsters and Disney villains above the head with a giant key, you may ask? His name is Sora.

Wiz: Sora is an upbeat, teenage boy from the Destiny Islands who was separated from his home when creatures known as Heartless began to invade.

Boomstick: But little did he know that he was chosen long ago by the Keyblade, a magical weapon that has the power to break any lock and unlock other people's hearts. It also can cut through anything...except for shields and fat guts for some reason.

Wiz: Sora gained the ability to wield the Keyblade when he reached out and accepted the heart of Ventus, a Keyblade wielder, during his childhood, Sora's default and iconic Keychain being the Kingdom Key.

Boomstick: You wanna know who Ventus is? Ventus, along with Terra and Aqua, were originally tasked by a guy named Master Eraqus to find a guy named Master Xehanort.

Wiz: That's true. Now on to Sora. Sora is--

Boomstick: And then Terra began to succumb to the darkness and Ventus went out to find him and Aqua went out to bring both of them home.

Wiz: Sora--

Boomstick: And then this happened and that happened and Eraqus was murdered by Xehanort and Terra went out to avenge him and Ventus went to the place where he was because some kind of χ-blade was gonna be forged by his rival Vanitas and Aqua went there too because she found out that Xehanort killed Eraqus with the unwilling help of Terra and--

Wiz: SHUT THE F*CK UP! *clears throat* As I was saying, Sora is a boy chosen by the Keyblade, granting him immense innate power which he began to unlock in his journey to find Riku and Kairi and save the worlds. Including being a master mage.

Boomstick: Yeah, Sora can shoot fire, ice, and lightning out of his Keyblade like a regular Final Fantasy mage. And he's really good at it! Sora can also conjure tornadoes which blow foes away upon contact, draw foes towards him with a magical magnet, force foes into the air, summon...balloons, and even create a magical barrier to protect against any and every attack.

Wiz: And that's not even the half of his abilities. Upon gaining a new outfit, Sora gains access to Drive Forms, special forms that increase their respective stats. However, since almost all of Sora's Drive Forms require the presence of at least one party member, in a Death Battle scenario, Sora can only use Limit Form, a Drive Form that grants Sora access to powerful attacks like Ars Arcanum and Ragnarok and heals his wounds every time he strikes his foe.

Boomstick: Using all of these awesome skills, Sora saved the worlds twice from two different villains on two separate occasions. Aaaand then Master Xehanort rose again because Sora killed both Ansem and Xemnas who're technically Xehanort's two halves so Disney spelled backwards--

Wiz: You mean Yen Sid.

Boomstick: Disney spelled backwards sent Sora on the Mark of Mastery exam with Riku, who, by the way, was now Sora's best friend again. And although only Riku made the grade, at least Sora got some awesome new skills. Like Flowmotion, which is like parkour and magical Spider-Man combined!

Wiz: Flowmotion supplements Sora's already superhuman jumping power. With it he can leap from building wall to building wall like some kind of jungle assassin or something, swing on poles with amazing speed, and slide down slopes without the need for a board of some kind. All while being immune to flinching.

Boomstick: Sora also gained access to a few moves he couldn't use if he wasn't in Limit Form. Like Faith, this really badass burst of light which just plain obliterates any foe in sight and deals massive damage to foes that can endure them. And it slightly heals Sora, too!

Wiz: You'd think that with all of these abilities, Sora's a full-on offense kind of person. Well, he sort of is, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some defensive measures as well. Aside from being really good at defending from attacks with his Keyblade, Sora can use Dodge Roll, a quick evasion technique that allows him to, well...roll out of harm's way. Sora can also Glide--or Superglide, however you see it--to escape or approach airborne foes.

Boomstick: And what's a badass key...swordsman without passive abilities? Sora has Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Water Boost to supplement the damage of spells belonging to their respective attributes, and Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Dark Screens to defend against those respective elemental attacks. He also has Defense Boost, which...boosts defense, Defender, which bumps it up even further when Sora's gravely injured, and let's not forget the Kingdom Hearts standard: Second Chance and Once More!

Wiz: Second Chance keeps Sora alive after getting hit by an attack that would normally kill him. Whereas Once More will keep him alive throughout a combo that would kill him. But take note, when Sora is already very, very gravely injured, these abilities will not take effect.

Boomstick: For a guy his age, Sora's accomplished some impressive feats under his belt...s. He defeated Hercules, who wasn't holding back; he trounced Cloud AND Sephiroth--yes, this is canon--solo; he beat Hades, who's an ACTUAL F*CKING GOD, and the Rock and Ice Titans; defeated Ansem AND Xemnas--

Wiz: Though he had help from Riku against the latter.

Boomstick: --trumped Xigbar's insane teleportation and rapid-fire spamming with his own insane reaction time; defeated Marluxia's three forms while his movements were restricted by cards; and he even traversed the majority of his dreams in his Mark of Mastery by himself, defeating Xemnas the second time around...ON HIS OWN. You might be thinking: "What the hell can stop this guy?"

Wiz: Sadly, every great warrior must have a weakness or two, and Sora is no different. He often looks before he leaps, jumping into dangerous decisions without the needed forethought. Despite being remarkably intelligent, Sora's just naïve and quite gullible, often falling for things that should be obvious to a normal person. In one instance, he fell for Mulan's attempt to disguise herself as a man.

Boomstick: WHO THE HELL EVEN FALLS FOR THAT? I watched that movie for, like, 17 times.

Wiz: 17 times? Now I'm not surprised that I went alone inside that haunted cabin...17 times. *clears throat* Anyway, despite this, Sora doesn't let his enemies trick him as easily, like how he didn't fall for Xemnas's attempt to play on his sympathetic side.

Boomstick: Sora, you lousy hypocrite...

Wiz: He's also so overconfident of his own abilities that he refused to take on the Mark of Mastery at first, believing he could single-handedly beat Master Xehanort. But when he finally took the exam, he learned his lesson...the hard way. You see, despite his heart being strong, Sora is not immune to darkness taking over it, and when he fell to the darkness in his dreams, not even Ventus's armor could save him. Only Riku could, and he pulled it off, though with difficulty.

Boomstick: But one of the many good things about this guy is that he values his friends above himself. If you do anything to harm them...then prepare to get your skull caved in by a giant key.

Wiz: Overall, Sora is extremely powerful, and his value for his friends is impressive. It's safe to say that the Keyblade wasn't wrong in choosing a boy of such strength, selflessness, and resolve.

Sora: I know the Keyblade didn't choose me, and I don't care. I'm proud...to be a small part of something bigger. The people it did choose!

Xigbar, vastly unnerved by Sora's words, begins trembling.

Sora: My friends. They are my power!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Wiz: All right, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all! We have Regret, the former seed of all chaos, and Sora, the Keyblade-wielding savior of the worlds.

Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

BATTLE

(Setting: Traverse Town - First District, Night)

He had no idea how he'd gotten here. Scratching his blond head, the warrior decided to take a look around, his gloved right hand slowly inching towards the hilt of the large blade on his back. He donned skintight pants, a piece of armor running from his left shoulder to the top of his left hand, and puffs of white on either shoulder. The warrior slowly walked towards the set of stairs in front of him, noting the long metal railing in the middle of the steps, shooting glances to his left and right. Reaching the top of the stairs and a large building of sorts, the warrior continued his trek, tightening his grip on his sword as he sensed something amiss. Suddenly he snapped his head back when he heard the voice of a caramel-haired boy, dressed in a black-and-red outfit, black puffy pants with three belts, large shoes, and a crown-shaped necklace.

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

The blond took a few steps down the stairs he just climbed, and when he reached the bottom, he replied, "I don't really know. All I know is there was some flash of light, and boom!"

Tapping his foot in slight impatience, the boy asked, "What were you doing beforehand?"

Slightly easing his right hand, the blond replied whilst still walking, "Well, I was searching for Sun when this silver-haired man in a black coat told me that he knew where she was." Noting the unease beginning to form on the boy's face, he continued with hesitation, "He seemed to know everything, filling me in on every detail."

"Xemnas?!" the boy interjected, alarmed.

"Oh, you know him?" the blond warrior asked in a puzzled tone.

"That guy can't be trusted! He's part of the Organization!"

"And what makes you so sure I can trust you instead? You know, it's hard to trust anyone these days...I'm living proof of that. Hell, I can't even trust my own hometown!"

"But--"

The blond furiously freed the large sword on his back, gripping its hilt with both hands while holding the blade out front. "All right, enough with the talk. Let's see if I can REALLY trust you!"

Clenching his teeth, the boy stretched out his arm, a key-shaped weapon appearing in his hand in a flash of light and a shing! sound. "Guess I've got no choice..."

Making a quick glance to the heavens, the blond uttered, "Father, I'm sorry, but..."

FIGHT!

Regret charged in, taking fast, heavy steps as he raised the Dagger of Light overhead. Sora quickly handsprung out of the way as the massive blade plummeted towards him, sailing in and unloading a retaliatory diagonal strike, Regret quickly blocking the blow. The Kingdom Key sang furiously once it clashed with Regret's mighty weapon, the blond slashing Sora away with a single swipe. Sora jumped as Regret unleashed a horizontal swing, the tip of the blade missing the Keybearer's shoes by a centimeter. Midair, Sora hurled his Keyblade forward, the weapon blindingly spinning like a boomerang as it soared for Regret, the swordsman swatting the Keyblade away. As Sora landed on his feet, he rushed forward, retrieving his Keyblade as it came for him, and struck with a vertical blow, his right shoulder reared to accentuate the force. Regret came in with a blow of his own, a shower of sparks ensuing during the one second that his and Sora's weapons clashed. Sora then attempted a horizontal strike, Regret parrying the blow with a swift, deft diagonal strike. For a brief moment they dueled, until Regret leapt upwards, and spinning vertically with blinding speed, brought his enormous blade down on Sora, the Keybearer leaping backwards and retaliating by swinging his Keyblade, unleashing a trio of fireballs. Regret ceased his attack, slashing upwards in an attempt to defend himself from the projectiles, an explosion ensuing from the attack and knocking Regret backwards. Regret recovered as soon as he crashed, and dashed towards Sora, raising his sword overhead and swinging it down with great force, the Keybearer rolling to the side. Regret had little time to react as Sora unleashed a violent bolt of lightning, the Holy Knight staggering as he blocked the Thundaga attack at the last second. Getting to his feet, Sora immediately linked his previous attack with an overhead swing, Regret being forced to retreat as he defended against the connecting blow. His Keyblade suddenly glowing, Sora leapt and struck, repeating the process twice as Regret defended himself with two horizontal swings. Quick as a blur, Regret brought the Dagger of Light down as Sora exclaimed, "Freeze!"

The oncoming Blizzaga projectile was sliced in two down the middle, and Regret dashed away as two more sailed straight for him. Regret then rushed in, unleashing a devastating elbow towards Sora's torso, the slayer of Heartless knocked backwards by the blow. Sora was quick to recover and took cover behind a fountain, rolling away once the fountain he had just taken cover in was sliced in half, and lunged once more, his Keyblade clanging once it met the Dagger of Light. Regret retreated towards the stairs, and immediately brought his blade down, spiked pillars jutting out from the earth and making their way towards Sora. Sora leapt upwards, narrowly avoiding the pillars that threatened to skewer him, and glided towards Regret as the pillars retracted back into their holes. Stopping his aerial advance, Sora pointed his Keyblade at Regret and fired off three balls of lightning, the Holy Knight dashing backwards to evade the Triple Plasma attack. He was, however, unable to dodge in time as the third lightning ball struck him square in the chest. Regret lashed out, his blade meeting Sora's plummeting Keyblade and knocking the Keybearer out of the sky. Sora's boots skidded on the concrete floor as he landed, rushing Regret by sliding forwards, Keyblade in front. Regret jumped out of the path of Sora's attack, and came in with an attack of his own, swiftly bringing his blade down on Sora. The Keybearer snapped his gaze to the plummeting Regret and raised his Keyblade, yelling "Drift!"

Regret kicked his feet in random directions as a dark translucent sphere had him suspended in midair. Clenching his teeth, the Holy Knight concentrated, and he opened his mouth, unleashing a violent wave of terror and causing the Zero Graviga sphere to dissipate. Sora remained suspended there, fighting through the surge of panic that threatened to overcome him, and eventually succeeded, being able to charge once Regret ceased his Panic Shout attack, gathering his blade. Suddenly he leapt up, and rolled in midair, fire gathering around his blade as he made his descent. The blade itself failed to hit Sora, but the force of the impact caused by the Double Strike attack threw Sora off balance, opening him to an oncoming blade. Sora barely had time to bring down his Keyblade to catch the strike, but the blow was so powerful that Sora was tossed off his feet, crashing hard against a lamppost. Regret closed in, blade raised to strike the boy down, but Sora was quick to kick himself up, knocking Regret away by raising his Keyblade and creating a powerful gust of wind. The Aeroga spell knocked Regret against a building, Sora sailing in to deliver another blow but met with a blade striking him diagonally from his abdomen to his chest, drawing blood and causing Sora to stop in his tracks. Regret recovered and sailed in, delivering a powerful elbow towards Sora's wound and further wracking it with pain. Regret delivered another blow with his gauntleted fist, catching Sora by the cheek and sending him skidding towards the foot of the staircase. Wasting no time, Regret followed, holding the Dagger of Light with one hand, but Sora, with a grunt, got up to his feet, hurling his Keyblade once more as the weapon blindingly spun through the air, Regret swinging his blade upwards to repel the oncoming Strike Raid. He was, however, unable to react as a fiery projectile exploded against his gut and sent him flying towards a large gate, creating a large hole at its center and forcing the doors open. Retrieving his Keyblade, Sora rushed in, and just as he had leapt to strike, he was surprised to see Regret himself largely intact, though dazed by the Firaga attack. Still, Sora dove to strike, their weapons clanging as they clashed. For a while their blades were locked, Sora demanding, "Just who are you?"

Gritting his teeth under pressure, Regret replied, "Oh, you know, just a guy who'd played host to the seed of chaos once."

Snarling, Sora leapt backwards as Regret swung his sword in an attempt to break free of the lock, and glided back in, swinging his Keyblade diagonally. Regret caught the strike with his sword, retaliating by kicking Sora out of the air. Midair, Sora fired off a large chunk of ice, Regret once more slicing through the Blizzaga projectile. Upon his landing, Sora performed a spell he hadn't done for long. Raising his Keyblade, Sora summoned a slew of multicolored balloons upon Regret's approach, rolled to one side, and let them loose, Regret unable to slice the magical balloons as they buffeted him. The force of the Balloonga attack threw Regret against the bluish wall, the Holy Knight stabbing into the wall with his sword before his whole body could crash against it. Regret removed the embedded blade as Sora came rushing in, letting loose a large, sword-shaped bladebeam. Sora immediately stopped, raising his Keyblade to create a transparent barrier as the Shining Blade was inches from his face. The barrier created by the Reflect spell caused the large bladebeam to stop in its tracks by closing around it, making it seem as if the projectile was embedded into the shield. Suddenly the bladebeam and the barrier began to glow violently, Sora escaping before the barrier and the Shining Blade gave way and exploded. Sora had only barely escaped, the explosion reaching him and sending him crashing against the large fountain and the force of the impact nearly breaking his back. Sora fell to his knees, his entire body quaking with pain as Regret approached, the Dagger of Light slung on his shoulder and a thin stream of blood running down his lips. With difficulty Sora stood up and gathered his Keyblade, managing to instill a moment of surprise in Regret before the latter asked, "How can you stand up after that? That's pretty impressive."

Wiping the blood from his mouth, Sora replied, "Oh, sorry, it's just that I've taken way worse."

Swinging the Dagger of Light into a battle formation, Regret charged, overlooking Sora's raising of his Keyblade and exclamation of "Light!" A powerful burst of light suddenly exploded from the tip of Sora's Keyblade, knocking Regret away. Growling, Regret closed his eyes, a greenish aura surrounding him and protecting him from the blast, and then dissipating as soon as the Faith attack stopped. A flicker of surprise, then of determination, crossed Sora's eyes as he saw Regret standing there, holding his sword with his right hand and his right arm with his left. Regret then closed his eyes once more, and seeing this as a chance, Sora charged, attempting to cut Regret down but his Keyblade stopped in its tracks, forced to the ground by a Dagger of Light enveloped in a red aura. The same aura had also enveloped Regret, and when the Holy Knight struck, Sora staggered. Recovering, Regret unleashed a flurry of blows, each knocking Sora backwards once they connected with his Keyblade. Regret gave no quarter as he pressed his assault, Sora resorting to using Thundaga magic, stopping the Holy Knight in his tracks. However, the split-second opening was sealed shut when Regret struck, too fast for the night, the blow so powerful it knocked the Keyblade right out of Sora's hands. Without a moment's hesitation, Regret reared his blade down, prepared to behead his foe and end it now, rearing it further to amplify the force. However, when Regret brought his blade down on Sora, the Keyblade suddenly reappeared in the latter's hands in a brillant flash of light, catching the intended deathblow with a loud and ominous clang! Regret started to push down, demanding, "What?!"

With all of his strength, Sora pushed back, the red aura dissipating around Regret as the Holy Knight was nearly overwhelmed by the lock. His Keyblade glowing white, Sora countered Regret's assault with a combo of his own, Regret unable to find an opening in Sora's relentless Ars Arcanum attack. The assault ended with three powerful overhead strikes followed by a devastating jumping attack, knocking Regret to his knees. Sora immediately connected his attack with a devastating twister, the Keybearer manipulating the Tornado to strike Regret at all costs. Regret attempted to escape from the swirling vortex until it cornered him to a wall. Regret gulped. He did not wish to waste his stamina, but he did not want to die here, either. Shouting, he took the risk, charging through the Tornado while the same greenish aura enveloped him. A bit of surprise instilled in him, Sora recalled the vortex, and then launched three balls of lightning instead. While the Triple Plasma attack did not do any significant damage to Regret, it was certainly enough to stop the Holy Knight in his tracks. As the aura dissipated, Regret remarked, "I've gotta say, you're impressive. You're one of the toughest fights I've had since Osiris!"

Sora swung his Keyblade in a threatening stance before replying, "Then let's give it all we've got!"

Regret rushed Sora, delivering a high kick to his chin, following up with a devastating slash before Sora could react, sending the Keybearer stumbling backwards, his pain receptors cast in a deep agony as the new wound crossed over the previous one. Regret then stabbed his blade into the floor, large spikes once more protruding from the ground and chasing down Sora. The Keybearer quickly responded by hurling his Keyblade forward, the weapon slicing cleanly through the spikes as it spun for Regret, the Holy Knight freeing his blade and charging towards Sora. Swatting away the Keyblade, Regret jumped high, spinning as his blade gathered energy, confident he would reach Sora before the latter could retrieve his weapon. With a boost in confidence, Regret attacked with Double Strike, prepared to cut Sora down vertically instead.

"Light, GIVE ME STRENGTH!"

The Dagger of Light stopped midway. Regret looked down, expecting his sword to be crossed with Sora's Keyblade, but was blown away as the barrier surrounding Sora exploded outwards. Regret landed hard on his feet and witnessed that Sora had changed his outfit, the black tops turning white and the black pants transforming into red. On the sleeves were drawn crown shapes, and the black-and-yellow shoes had transformed into all-yellow ones. Sora had activated Limit Form.

Growling, Regret raised his blade overhead and attempted to strike once more, Sora beating him to his attempt with a devastating explosion of light. Regret was knocked off his feet, gathering himself to witness Sora suddenly floating, orange energy suddenly swirling around his Keyblade. Yelling "Take this!" Sora made the energy manifest, orange tendrils of light snaking around each other and approaching Regret. The Ragnarok attack struck Regret dead-on, the Holy Knight feeling a searing agony as he endured the energy beams. Regret quickly shut his eyes and concentrated as he let the attack pelter him, a pillar of light suddenly lancing through the night sky and engulfing Regret. After a most brief moment, the smoke and light cleared, revealing a very much angered Regret on his feet, two pinkish-white wings on his back and a bright blue aura shining around him. Regret spread his ethereal wings and zoomed towards Sora, the Keybearer attempting to stop the archangel from his advance. However, Sora was only met with a large sword whooshing at his face. The Keybearer jumped back, the Dagger of Light missing the tip of his nose by a narrow margin. Sora smirked, huffing, "Two can play that game."

Suddenly, Sora leapt up the wall and towards the destroyed gate, wrapped in a purple aura. The young Keybearer had tapped into Flowmotion, and was now seamlessly leaping from wall to distant wall, deftly avoiding Regret's power-blows. When at last he reached a high point, Sora leapt down, his Keyblade raised overhead and leaving a trail of purple sparks as he brought the weapon down on Regret with all his strength. Regret gasped in pain as the Zantetsuken attack cut at him from right shoulder to left foot, and Regret fell to his knees, screaming in agony. In a blind rage, he charged towards Sora, ramming the Dagger of Light into his wound and drawing an pained cry from the Keybearer, his outfit reverting to normal in a flash of light. Regret freed his blade as he declared, "Time to end this!"

At that moment, burning meteors plummeted from the sky, mercilessly peppering Sora in midair before sending the Keybearer crashing down on the ground, one last meteor crashing on to him in a devastating explosion. Regret made his way back to the ground, clutching the wound that had been caused by Zantetsuken in agony as his Archangel mode ended. Before the smoke cleared, Regret turned his back and prepared to walk away, uttering, "Sun...how's that...? Don't worry...I'll find you as fast as I can..."

Regret gaped in shock and surprise as a familiar, silver Keyblade lanced through his chest, and gasped in pain, a sudden stream of blood running down his lips as he saw a battered, but very much alive, Sora. His grip on the Dagger of Light eased, the weapon clattering to the floor as Regret felt the life slowly ebb away from him, Sora freeing his Keyblade and dispelling it as he looked on Regret with sympathy. Regret crumpled to his knees and finally collapsed to the floor, having passed on, his body disappearing in a flash of light. Getting up to his feet, Sora limped towards Regret's fallen blade, and thrust it into the ground, as if to form some sort of grave. He then walked away, uttering, "Whoever you are...I'm sure you didn't have any bad intentions. I swear...I swear I'll bring you back..."

KO!

Boomstick: Why? Why does it have to end like this, Wizard? WHY?!

Wiz: With his passives, actives, and own sheer strength, Regret was more than a match for Sora. However, he despite having the Focus of the Archer, he could not land a hit on Sora easily, who was naturally faster.

Boomstick: Yeah, what's a maxed-out accuracy skill when you're up against a guy who's fast enough to dodge blows from F*CKING SEPHIROTH? Also, even with Focus of the Archer, Regret has trouble keeping up with foes faster than himself.

Wiz: Sora had the more diverse arsenal, and was actually quite capable of fighting in long range. Unlike Regret, who has to close in on a long-range foe, leaving him very open to attacks.

Boomstick: Regret's active moves may have been hard-hitting, but they rely on his f*cking stamina, which dries up pretty damn quickly. Which spells disaster since in a Death Battle scenario, since Regret isn't allowed to use recovery items unless Sora can use recovery items, too.

Wiz: Plus, Regret's enhanced modes rely on his stamina, and they are not passive abilities. When he ran low on stamina, it became difficult for him to keep up with Sora with his strength alone. Though his stamina was capable of recovering, Regret's enhanced modes consume a lot of it, and the recovery rate isn't that fast, even when augmented by Recovery of the Eagle.

Boomstick: But even if he had unlimited stamina, Regret would still have a lot of trouble keeping up with a guy like Sora. A guy who literally moves fast enough to deflect thousands of laser beams without breaking a sweat, trounces literal gods, plays tennis with skyscrapers as the balls, beats the sh*t out of guys who can control nothingness, and still smiles at the end of it all!

Wiz: Sora did have a limited pool of magic, but he was able to use the spells efficiently until he ran out. Plus, like Regret's stamina supply, Sora's magic could also recover, though at a much faster rate depending on the spells he uses. Also, in a different topic, Sora's Keyblade was completely capable of breaking Regret's sword if given the chance.

Boomstick: To top this off, Sora had Second Chance and Once More, so he was able to tank the full power of Meteo Shock and still execute a glorious finish.

Wiz: It was only a matter of time before Regret suffered the killing blow. Regret was certainly powerful, but he could not surpass Sora's strength, magic, and superior abilities.

Boomstick: In the end, Sora was the key to Regret's defeat.

Wiz: The winner is Sora.
