~7-years later-

"Are you ready Lucy darling" said a soft voice. Lucy looked up at the voice to see her mother in a black leather suit with a utility around her waist her hair did up in a bun she stood on Lucy's door frame with her arms crossed.

"Yes mother I am ready" Lucy said buckling her utility belt around her waist and tying her hair up into a bun similar to her mothers.

"I know your nervous it's not everyday a 12 year old girl goes on her first recon mission so be careful your father would let us know if the situation needed to be changed so don't worry all you have to do is stay in the shadows with me ok" Layla smiled at her daughter remembering the first time she went on her first mission except she was only 21 and it was after she and Jude were married she actually because a full fledged assassin.

"Excuse me mistress but the master would like to see you downstairs for the mission debriefing tonight" said one of their newest servers, Virgo she had pink hair and Lucy seemed to like her along with all the other servers which Layla had no problem with.

When Lucy and Layla made it down stairs they saw a big table with many different killing weapons, explosives, and life savers Lucy gawked in awe as there was also a holographic screen behind her father that showed a map of an old warehouse building.

"So what's the plan papa?" Lucy asked recovering from her awe and becoming more alert.

"Well it's just supposed to be a simple recon mission our employer wants us to look into the Eisenwald  shipping company they have come to suspicion that some of the employees are smuggling explosives to an unknown gang in the states they want us to put that suspicion to rest, you and your mother won't be near me so I'm giving you these head sets there's no definite way to determine if well have to get our hands dirty, So Layla I want you to take this gun and boot knives Lucy you'll have poison darts, a Kunia knife, and a your tanto blades don't use your weapons right away you can't always rely on them always use your surroundings and your fighting skills stay in the shadows " Jude said until it turned into a full on safety rant.

"Jude, your rambling again Lucy will be fine it's just a simple recon mission well be in and out and back before dinner ok" Layla said petting her daughters head and smiling at her husband who was more nervous then Lucy.

"Alright fine but just incase well each get a grenade for extra measures". Jude said giving each girl a hand grenade

"Don't worry papa I'll be fine this is what I've been training for, right?" Lucy said smiling at her father who smiled back and the room had erupted in laughter .

~warehouse arrival 8:45pm~
The young Heartfillia was hidden perfectly in the shadows she kept her eyes trained on the 6 men on the ground level of the warehouse she pulled out her sonic recorder her father had given her and tuned in to hear what they where saying.

Man 1:"Man Jose isn't gonna like this we already have a lose thread what if we get caught it's over for us."

Man 2: "Yea we can't risk another shipment Tsuyama."

The man known as Tsuyama growled in annoyance.

"WELL WE WOULDNT HAVE A THREAD IF YOU GUYS FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS JOSE SAID TO FOLLOW BECAUSE OF YOU SIMPLETONS THIS COULD TURN FEDRAL AND WE'D ALL BE DONE FOR" yelled Tsuyama.

"Toshin, Kakuji stop your blubbering and go get the merchandise our buyer will be here soon" another man said.

"Hai, kai" with that the two men known as Toshin and Kakuji left to go get the "goods".

"Tsuyama, go with Kosa and Moji and make sure the place is clear our buyer is on his way" Kai said.

"Yeah, yeah alright you two come on" Tsuyama said as Kosa and Moji followed him outside to check the perimeter .

~5 minutes later~
Lucy was still listening hoping to find more info. Just then the door to the warehouse opened to reveal a man clad in all black include his face so Lucy couldn't see what he looked like.

"Do you have my merchandise?" The man asked.

"Sure do well take out 3 of the the 4 main successful companies in all of Magnolia and Eisenwald shipping will be on top then you come in and we rule this place with an iron fist" Kai said grinning madly as he snapped his fingers and Toshin and Kakuji walked from the back with 18 crates of explosives.

The man nodded his head in agreement
'Three of the four companies?' Lucy thought. 'but that's Blue Pegasus tech, saber tooth international and...heartfillia transportation' Lucy choked back a gasp her parents must have been as shocked as she was after hearing this.

"Before we begin I just wanna let your company in the shadows know they can come out" the man said in amusement .

Kai looked around "What company?" He asked "Come out now with your hands up" he pointed a gun in Lucy's direction "or the girl dies" knowing he wasn't playing around the Heartfillia assassins came from hiding with their hands up Lucy and Layla jumped from the railings they where perched on in the shadows while Jude walked from the corner he was in a look of anger and defeat on his face.

"So mind telling me who sent you?" The man asked a the room was silent and not a word was said.

"ANSWER ME, NOW" the man yelled causing Lucy to flinch.

"Who sent us dose not matter we've done what we've came to do" Layla said all to calmly the man let out a dark chuckle.

"Wrong answer sweet cheeks you've got 5 seconds to tell me who sent you or your brat won't be leaving alive" he said sounding serious.

"Eisenwald's chairman sent us" Jude stated Kai's eyes widened in shock.
"WHAT NO HAS EVER SEEN OR MET THE CHAIRMAN OF EISENWALD HOW'D HE FIND OUT ABOUT THIS" he yelled not believing what he heard.

"Simple this Jose character you were speaking of earlier was dumb enough not to cover his tracks, If you're looking to blame someone blame him" Layla spoke once more Toshin points a gun at Layla.

"CAN IT LADY YOU ARE THIS CLOSE TO HAVING A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD" he yelled Lucy was getting scared and was on the brink of tears.

"Please" Lucy choked the attention was now directed to a crying Lucy "Please don't hurt my mommy and daddy" Jude and Layla looked at their child both thinking the same thing 'was she really ready for this?'
One of the men sighed and walked over to the crying girl.

"Shhh shh there now little girl why're you crying " the man asked
Sniffle "Because you're gonna hurt my mommy and daddy" Lucy continued crying the men not knowing she just sent a signal to her parents saying she had a plan.

"No,no, no one is getting hurt why don't you tell me your name and I can take you somewhere else" the man said.
"Kakuji what are you doing?" Tsuyama asked.
"Incase you haven't noticed this girl is still a child and Toshin has a gun pointed at her mother honestly you have no class" Kakuji said annoyed that they forgot a child was in the room.

"There's...no need for you know my name Mr.Kakuji" Lucy as she could to wipe away her falling tears "and why is that?" He asked a little confused.

"Well sniffle it's simple" Lucy pulled out her tanto blade and slit his throat "You wouldn't have lived long enough to remember it anyways"
Lucy said as she pulled out her poison darts and aimed it at Toshin who was shocked to see what she had just done.

"Please Mr I'd hate for you to die to let my mommy go" Lucy said still crying.
"That's my girl" Layla said pulled out a blade of her own and stabbed Toshin in the side of his neck.

"KAKUJI, TOSHIN WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU TWISTED BITCHES" Kai  yelled as he looked at his friends who where now soaked in their own blood he looked at Lucy who was already gone he looked around to find her standing behind him  the man in black had to disappeared in all the commotion Tsuyama ,Moji ,and Kosa cane running in to see their friends dead "DONT JUST STAND THERE KILL THEM" Kai yelled before Jude bashed his skull in "That's for scaring my daughter" he said before he was punched in the face my Kosa "oh it's on" Jude said before kicking Kosa in the throat Layla was wrapped up in a fight with Tsuyama while Moji was conflicted with a choice " I CANT HIT A CRYING LITTLE GIRL SHE LOOKS SO INNOCENT" Moji yelled freaking out about what he should do.
"Looks can be deceiving mister Lucy said before jumping on his head and beat it like a bongo and clawing his eyes out a girlish scream could be heard through out the entire warehouse and layla and Jude where now back to back "and you said she couldn't handle her first mission as an assassin" Layla giggled before side kicking Tsuyama in the neck no one had noticed a fire had been set until one of the dead bodies caught fire Lucy had just stabbed Moji in his throat and turned around to see the warehouse decorated with flames her parents opponents where already dead Lucy ran to her mother and father .
"Not bad for my first recon mission" Lucy said hugging her mother looking up and smiling as if she hadn't just killed two men but nothing prepared the young heartfillia for what she had saw next .
BAM blood splattered on Lucy's face Layla heartfillia had just been shot in the chest Lucy's eyes filled with fear, tears, and horror as her mother fell to the ground limp her eyes also filled with shock and tears.
"MOMMY " Lucy cried
"LAYLA NO" Jude yelled as he fell to the floor with his wife and daughter he to crying.
"Why, why are you crying it's no big deal" Layla said weakly
"NO BIG DEAL NO BIG DEAL MOMMY YOU'VE BEEN SHOT AND ME AND DADDY MIGHT LOSE YOU PLEASE DON'T GO" Lucy was crying harder now
"Lucy my darling please don't cry it's the price all assassins must pay" she said as she began coughing up blood
"Now listen to me my darling....Jude dear please listen both of you it's evident I won't make it and this fire is worsening by the second so listen well I have loved you both and I always will nothing will change that ever now Lucy I want you to know something cough no matter how hard things seem something better is waiting for you I love you Jude pro...tect...our.... B-baby g-girl I....love...yo-" she never finished her sentence Layla heartfillia was now dead and no one could do anything about it. Lucy was struck in fear her mother died in her arms right before her eyes tears flooded Lucy's vision she hadn't realized she had been picked up by her father and was running out of the burning warehouse with his traumatized daughter they made it out of the building before it exploded taking the men and Layla heartfillia with it.
"Lucy..are you ok?" Jude asked Lucy didn't respond to her father
"Come on....lets go home"
~2 week later~
It's been two weeks since Layla heartfillias death and Lucy hasn't spoken since the funeral her father after that locked himself away in his office working more on his transportation company instead of his daughter who took it the hardest.
*in Lucy's room*
Lucy was sitting in her room staring out the window her eyes and face ride of any emotion her usual happy eyes that where full of life where now sad and empty the servants have stopped asking her if she was ok knowing if they dead her empty eyes would only well up with tears.
Knock knock
"Um Lucy- sama it's time for dinner please come downstairs" a man in a shades and a black suit said rigidly
"Yes...ok Capricorn I'll be down soon, will...will daddy be there?" She asked in a dull tone.
"I'm..I'm afraid not Lucy-sama" the man known as Capricorn said sadly
"Oh"was all she said before getting out of her chair and walking towards her door.
"It's easier to eat that way"she said before walking out of her room all traces of a happy little girl erased from her very being.
