THE BEGINNING

The old trees swayed in the harsh winds as I thundered down the old cobble path, the dead leaves crunching under my feet. Owls called out to the moon impersonating the sad wolves hiding in the dense bush. The full moon peeked over the trees like a child, yet all I could see was the path ahead.  As I wandered further and further into the bush, everything became more real. My senses amplified from fear every little sound alerting me of danger. I crept into the clearing that I had visited a million times in my dreams. My short brown hair whipped around my face vigorously as the winds became stronger. A tall dark figure stood in the middle of the opening. Darker robes danced around his frail body, a small hood covered his scarred face. But I didn't doubt that this 'man' had unbelievable powers. Because the man in front of me just also happened to be... the Devil.

"Hello." He said vulgarly, his voice raw, bouncing around the forest.

I awkwardly shuffled around, looking like absolute coward.

"Hi." I whispered my voice carried away in the wind.

I was such a wuss, my dark blue eyes darted around nervously as I awaited a response, goosebumps traveling down my spine.

He grimaced, "You're more of a petty human than an angel, and so small and short. You wouldn't even be able to put up a fight like your brother did." He grumbled a small smirk playing at his lips.

He did it on purpose, playing at my emotions, my anger still boiled inside of me like a kettle, I was sure that steam was coming out of my ears.

"You deserve to die, Mr. Lucifer." I stayed surprisingly calm.

A dark chuckle escaped his lips, "And so do you Miss Queen, but I think you forget that I could easily kill you, with a small, tiny snap of my fingers."

The cold came back to nip at my skin, electric shocks travelling up and down my body.

"I would like to make a deal." I exclaimed, nodding my head to myself to check I had said the right thing.

"Oh, a deal," He said his voice suddenly sugar coated,"and what might this deal propose?"

I stammered shocked that he even bothered to listen, "U-m, w-w-well , I," I was cut off promptly.

"Cut to the chase little angel." He smiled grimly, excitement seeping into his voice.

" Well, Mr. Lucifer," my voice quivered from fear, " I will," My voice got stuck in my throat,              "resign from my honorary position as guardian angel, if you will free my brother from your curse."

He smirked mischievously, "You make a great deal little one,but what do you think is in it for me?"

The request daunted me, what was in it for him? I had planned it out in my mind, but this was not a question I had thought out.

"I don't really know, what do you propose?"

His dark, hollow eyes sparkled with mischief.

"How about.." His hands rubbed together as though forming a reckless plan, "How about, you, my pretty little angel, have to go through some sort of.... Torture," A dark, malicious laugh came out of his mouth, almost darkening the aura around him.

" You, my little one, will go through a series of so-called chambers. If you fail a chamber, give up, or just are so weak you cannot pass,

I, the almighty Devil have the right, to your soul."

My eyes widened at the severity of the punishment. It was completely unreasonable. But if I didn't agree, I would never see him again, my brother. The only family I have left. My mouth slowly opened to form the words but all that came out was wind, a smile still carved to his eerie face.

"I-I-.." The words wouldn't come out of my mouth.

I couldn't put down the deal, but if I was to fail, I would end up in the same damned pit with my brother.

My voice was still shaking, "I- Wil-l ac-cept the d-d-de-al"

As soon as the depressed cursive words can out of my mouth the world around me became darker. Hysteric laughter was the only audible thing as the whole world melted to goo. The trees crumbled and collapsed, and whole mountains disappeared into thin air. My city completely wiped away in the catastrophe. Slowly, slowly, the world began to collapse below me. Fear suffocated me. My heart pounded in my chest. There were no longer butterfly's in my stomach but a raging lion hitting my guts and sending them all over the place. Making me feel sick to the core. Bile rises in my throat as the cracks came closer, and as they parted a dark red light emerged, tortured screams came out from the bottom of the holes. And then it struck me, this wasn't the first time he had made a deal. At least a gazillion pained shrieks came from down there. My power slipped away from me as the cracks came closer, I became more nauseous. They crept closer, the cracks binding me to the middle of a small circle of grass. The loud cackling became louder and louder as the cracks came closer. And then I felt it, the world collapsing below me. In alarm I started fidgeting, tight clamps attacked my arms and legs trapping me, but when I looked down nothing was there. My neck made a nearly audible sound , almost like gurgle. A dark black liquid rolled out of my mouth a awful taste left in my mouth, the dark, sickening pile left on the broken ground. And then the ground collapsed below me, I fell into an abyss of darkness. The further I fell the more I could see. And it was almost as though I was slowing down, I could peer into small rooms and the deeper I got the more gruesome things were in the rooms. One man was sleeping in a soft bed cover by a blue duvet, but the room below had a young girl strapped in a dentist's chair. Blood splattered across the walls and floors. Sharp objects attached to a wooden board. And slowly a man walked closer. His blue coat covered with maroon blood. The young girl tried to scream but the noise was silenced by a gag that had been placed in her mouth. And then... I kept falling the dark walls closing in on me. A dark, empty voice called out,

"Such a shame, to rain on such a pretty face."

And then everything went black.
