The next day I woke up before Bella so I made the coffee for Charlie and myself, Bella wasn't a coffee drinker. I also put some toast and then got upstairs to change and get ready for school. Once I was ready I went to the kitchen, Bella was nibbling on her toast and Charlie was drinking his coffee.

"I'm not gonna be here for dinner, I have to go to Mason County, a worker there was found dead by some sort of animal attack. So you guys can order take out or something" Charlie informed us and I grimaced.

"Animal attack?" Bella seemed a little scandalized.

"You guys are not in Phoenix anymore" Charlie remind us in a matter of fact way, he took his jacket from the perch next to the door and then gave us a final wave right before going out.

"Let's go, we are going to be late if we don't leave now" I hurried Bella, she nodded and took the other toast in between her teeth and swung her backpack on her shoulder.

"Soff, don't forget your..."

"I already have it" I cut her off, she nodded and we both exited the house.

"I am going to confront Edward Cullen today" was the first thing I heard when I closed the truck's door, I looked at my sister confused. 

"What are you talking about?" I questioned my sister, having no idea of what she was talking about. She backed up the truck before answering.

"Yesterday on Biology class, Edward Cullen was my lab partner but he treated me like I was the plague, so I am going to ask him what is his problem" she said with determination, I shrugged.

"Good for you"

Soon we arrived to the school parking lot, we got out of the truck and Bella nudged me to tell me she was going to say hi to her friends and I told her I would be heading straight to the lockers. I tried to open the locker but it was kind of stuck.

"You should try pushing the door and then lifting the lock" I heard a girl said and I tried it and gasped when it opened. I turned to look to the girl who had helped me, it was the red haired Cullen, or actually Hussy.

"Hi, my name is Maggie Hussy, you must be the new girl" she introduced herself while leaning on her back to the lockers and her face turned to me, a couple of feet back I could see Emmett that gave us a quick glance before pulling some of his books out of his own locker.

"Hi, I'm Soff Swan" I replied with a small smile, but I felt really self-conscious for two things. First, Maggie was absolutely beautiful and I felt simple and plain standing next to her and second a lot of people were staring at us, even worse than they were yesterday.

"Is it short for Sophia?"  Maggie asked and tilted her head, I shook my head no.

"It's Soffia actually, S-O-F-F-I-A, my mom had a thing for Italian names and she liked Sophia but since my sister is called Isabella, she wanted our names to somehow match each other so I winded up with the strange name" I explained and she snorted, Emmett was standing right beside her but I hadn't noticed, I waved a little to him with my arm still glued to the books I was holding to my chest.

"Is not that weird you know?" Maggie said while turning to face me and now leaned on her boyfriend, Emmett just put his hand on her shoulder and brushed off some of her red hair. They looked good together, like two pieces of a puzzle.

"It is" I grimaced "That's why I just go by Soff" 

Maggie smirked at my comment.

"Hey I get it you know, my name is Margaret, which is a mouthful so Maggie it is" she shrugged, I smirked as well.

"Hi Soff" Emmet said with his deep voice but somehow it also sounded kind of mischievous.

"Hey Emmett, how you doing?" I tried my best to sound friendly and he was about to open his mouth when I felt somebody pull me by my arm.

"I was waiting for you on the parking lot but you never made it" Lauren's nasal voice rang while she pulled me up to her, I grimaced at her grip on my arm.

"I-I I'm sorry I just had to get some stuff from my locker..."

"Stop with the excuses, do you have it?" she interrupted me and pushed me back, I caught myself before I hit the lockers and quickly nodded, searching in my bag for the paper I printed this morning when I found it I took it out and hand it over to her. Lauren took it from my hands.

"Good, see you at lunch" she laughed and walked down the hallway, I leaned my head back into the lockers and sighed.

"What the hell was that?" Maggie's voice made me snap back to reality, I turned back to them and noticed how she was frowning and clearly upset while Emmett now had both his hands on her shoulders, as if he was trying to hold her back or stopping her from doing something.

That was really odd.

"I don't know what you talking about" I replied quickly bright red and then flinched at my own lie, that was pathetic I had to do so much better. Maggie arched an eyebrow to me and I blushed even deeper.

"You know what, Soff? I am really good at knowing when people are lying and that was just completely bullshit" She rolled her eyes and Emmett palmed her shoulder as if warning her.

"Trust me when I tell you that no one can lie to her, it is quite annoying" Emmett joked and put arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. Maggie looked smug.

"So are you going to explain what happened?" Maggie arched an eyebrow at me, I blushed again trying to think something to tell her but I didn't get to say anything because before I could even speak a word a blonde mane made its appearance from behind me to stand right in front of me, her back facing me 

"We need to go Maggie, we are going to be late for first period" she spoke in her smooth voice and then proceed to grab her sisters arm and pushed her along down the hallway, I frowned because of course Rosalie hadn't even noticed me and not knowing why it bothered me.

"Let's go classmate we are going to be late too" Emmett shook me out of my thoughts and snatched my calculus book out of my arms, I blushed and tried to gesture him to give me my books back, I could carry them myself. He rolled his eyes and dismissed me with a wave of his hand.

"I can carry my books myself, you know?" I piped while trying to keep up with Emmett's huge steps, he noticed and slowed down a bit allowing me to catch up with him at a more normal pace.

"You are short and thin as a stick, you really can't" Emmett rolled his eyes at me in a joking manner, I snorted.

"Well I could still have a growth spurt, who knows maybe grow taller than you" I quickly replied and Emmett looked exceptically at me.

"You are barely 5'1"

"5'3, thank you very much" I corrected him with a huff.

"I'm 6'6 so if you are going to be taller than me, you are going to need one hell of a grown spurt" He exclaimed the last word with irony and laughed, I smiled. 

We soon arrived to the classroom and the teacher wasn't there yet but everybody turned to us as soon as we got there, Emmett paid them no mind and gestured me to go first.

"Ladies first" he reverenced and I laughed and got in to the classroom heading towards our desk in the back of the classroom but soon realized everybody was staring at us and I shut up. 

After that I started feeling like I was tripping over someone's foot, again. I braced myself to hit the ground but a strong, cold, big hand landed on my shoulder keeping me from going down.

Emmett let me go until I wasn't stumbling, then turned to see Lauren with her furious eyes looking at me.

"You better watch where you going" she shrugged and turned to chat with her lab partner when she realized that I wasn't looking away, I just looked to the ground and walked back to the desk.

"Are you alright?" Emmett asked and put my books in front of me, I nodded but didn't take my eyes off the table.

"I can get Maggie to tell her to back off" Emmet said with a little smile, I smirked.

"I'm glad to see who's boss in your relationship" I joked

"Hey, I am whipped and proud, but really Maggie can tell her off" he rolled his eyes at my comment but then turned serious again. I shook my head no.

"We are friends, she is just playing" I lied and shrugged.

"If you say so" he replied not buying at all, he looked like he wanted to say something more but then the teacher entered the classroom and he closed his mouth.
