Diamond's Pov

I awoke to the sound of my alarm blaring out of it's system. I reached over and turned it off. I look up for a minute, remembering it was Monday again. I then got out of bed and drawn the curtains back. The view was still grey. I was so glad that it was Spring now and it would start warming up.

I went to the bathroom and took a shower, letting the water warm up and rain down my body. I washed my hair and body and took in the steam that the hot water had made. Steam does wonders to one's voice.

I cleaned and rinsed my face off when I got out of the shower. I looked at the reflection in the mirror and sighed. Just the usual me. I got dressed and ran downstairs to have breakfast.

"Morning." Mom greeted me.
"Morning, Mom." I replied, putting two pieces of bread in the toaster.
"You know, Diamond. I heard a really strange scream the other night. Was that you?"

Oh no. She heard me.

Right, Diamond, don't panic.

"No. I didn't hear anything." I lied.
"Okay then, just checking. It just seemed odd because I heard it coming from your room."
"Yeah, it is." I nodded as the toast popped up.

I spread on some butter and ate it quickly to avoid any more questions. The school bus arrived soon after I finished my breakfast so I said goodbye to Mom and raced to my seat on the bus.

That was damn quick, I laughed to myself.

I watched everyone else fill the seats around me. It seemed quieter today.

"Hey Diamond!" A girl in my class called Leah turned to me in her seat.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Did you see on the news that Mariah Carey broke up with that billionaire?"
"Yeah, I did." I nodded.

Of course I did, I was there when it happened.

Leah was a fan of Mariah but not a full-on lamb. She sometimes talked to me about how she liked a few of her albums and such. Not that deep really. We are sorta friends and do hangout sometimes.

"I didn't like that guy one bit, you know." Leah went on.
"Neither did I. I had a feeling he wasn't the one." I agreed.
"Wanna have lunch together today?"
"Sure. What classes have you got?"
"English, History, Art, Science, Food tech and Maths."
"Cool, I have English, Maths, Food tech, History, Art then Music."
"I'll pick you up when you go to lunch during Food tech, ok?"
"Yep, that's fine. Hey Leah?"
"Yeah, Diamond?"
"Enjoy your day, dahling!" I mimicked Mariah, making her smile.
"Yes, you too, dahling! See you at lunch." She waved as the bus came to a halt at our school entrance.

"Okay, you guys, get to school!" The bus driver ordered.

We all lined up to get off the bus with me at the very back as usual. I stepped off and went to my locker. I talked to myself as I was checking I had everything I needed for class.

"Textbooks, Math, English, check. Pens, pencils, rulers, calculator, check. Notebook, extra notebook-Ah!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I crashed to the floor.

I looked up to see Cassy smirking at me. "What the hell was that for?" I stood up, doing the bish whet pose.
"Oh, DeeDee it was for fun, dahling!"
"I told you, don't call me that b****."
"Woah, Diamond, don't sweat, I was only kidding!"
"Uh-uh, move!" I pushed her ass out of my way and bent down to pick up my things from the floor.

Ben and Leah helped, seeing what just happened.
"Hey, Diamond, you just pushed her straight into her own locker!" Leah's friend, Freya exclaimed.
"Really?" My eyes widened.
"Yeah, girl look there, quick!" She pointed to Cassy with her entire face squashed inside.

Oh my god, I did that? Whoops!

Everyone there was laughing at her as she finally got her face out. Including me, Ben, Leah and Freya.
"Diamond, you just slammed her in there from the other side of the room, damn!" One of the jocks, Jordan cackled, initiating a high-five. "Boom!" We did the high-five and I got back to sorting myself out.

Cassy gave me a death glare as she passed my locker, giving me a quick elbow on the side. I rolled my eyes at her and grinned in victory.

I really just pushed Cassy right into her locker!

What will I do to her next without realising it?

I went to English and everyone was clapping for me. I never get this sort of attention ever. It's so new to me and it won't be happening anymore anytime soon. At least I don't think it's not because look at me.

I laughed as I took my seat and started doing today's English work.

........

"Hey, Diamond!" Leah called to me, waving her hands in the air.
"Hi." I smiled at her as we went to the canteen together.

We were joined with Freya, Reece & Sasha who were her other two friends. I briefly talked to Reece and Sasha but didn't know them that much as well as Freya. It felt nice to have lunch with other people than being on my own with no lunch money. We talked about Mariah as we ate and asked me on any news about her other than the breakup with James. I asked if they heard about the new album and the residency at Vegas.

"Yeah, we all watched that Ellen interview when it came on, didn't we girls?" Sasha nodded, glancing at the others.
"Yeah, I'm gonna get us tickets! Wanna come with us, Diamond?" Leah asked.
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes girl, you know we're serious and you are the biggest lamb here!" Freya nodded with a smile on her face.
"So, you're gonna come with us?" Reece asked shyly.

Reece was the more quiet one and normally would let Leah, Sasha or Freya talk but she seemed to like me being their friend as well.

"You kidding me? Of course I'll come with you! But shall I ask my Mom to get the tickets so we get front row instead?" I offered.
"Oh my god, Diamond! You rock! Yes please! Leah nodded.
"Okay, I'll go call her now." I excused myself from the table and ran outside to find Mariah.
"Didn't I say she was nice?" I then heard Leah ask the girls and they nodded in agreement.

I took a breath and started calling her name.
"Mariah? Are you there?"
"Diamond? What is it, dahhhling?" Mariah replied as she appeared in another glamorous ensemble.
"Can I ask you a big favour?"
"Of course, my lamb what is it?"

Please don't let her say no.

"Well, my friends, Leah, Reece, Freya and Sasha are some fans of you and they invited me to go to your Vegas concert with them and I said that I would ask my Mom for front row tickets. I just wanted to ask if you could do that for us because you said I could come with you anyway?" I asked, batting my eyelashes at her.

"Well, I can do that for you, dahhhling. But! Make sure they don't find out about this okay? That's the deal." Mariah said.
"Of course, Mariah, you know I wouldn't tell anyone. I'll just say my Mom bought them. Deal?" I held my hand out to her.
"Deal!" She nodded, shaking it.
"Anyway, before I have to go, my lamb. What does your Mom do for a job?" Mariah wondered.
"Oh, well she just does business things really. Sometimes she goes on business trips and all that stuff but that's it. Not that interesting." I shrugged.
"Not too bad. Right, I have to go now, dahhhling, see you next time." She blew me her diva kiss and got sucked back through the portal of smoke.

Yes!

I would have to ask Mom if I could sleep over at Leah's for 3 days or so. Because of how long it takes to get to Vegas from here. I'll say that Leah's Mom got the tickets for us. I don't even know when we're going. But we'll find out. This is going to be so awesome!

I can't wait to tell them!

I returned to the girls and just as the bell went off for next class.
"Diamond! What did she say?!" Leah ran up to me as soon as she saw me.
"She said yes!"
"For real?!" They all asked.

I nodded with a grin. "YASSS! WE'RE GOING TO SEE MARIAH FREAKIN' CAREY IN LAS VEGAS BABY!" They squealed, punching their fists in the air.

Everyone stared at us but we didn't have a care in the world.

I went back to class feeling a burst of excitement.

Two really good things happened today.

Number one, I still can't believe that I pushed Cassy's ass so hard that her face ended up in her locker. And number two, Leah, Freya, Reece, Sasha and I are going to see Mariah at Vegas!

........

Mariah's Pov

*7pm after work*

I was exhausted yet again. The kids and I were watching TV in the living room.
"Mommy, is James not our fake daddy anymore?" Roe asked me.

Damn, I forgot to tell them.

"Roe, James was never your daddy anyway, sweetie. You real daddy will always be your daddy. I forgot to tell you two the news I was gonna tell you yesterday."
"Yeah?" They looked up at me.
"I don't love James anymore. We are not gonna see him ever again."
"Really?" They asked.
"Yes."
"Yay, I hated that guy!" Roc cheered.
"Roc!" I hissed, but ended up laughing.

"Why don't you love him anymore, Mommy?" Roe questioned.
"Well, you were right about him, Roe. He nearly took all my things. But the cops stopped him and all our money is safe. And guys, I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you two. Especially when you told me what James said before, Roe." I answered.
"It's okay, Mommy. We love you." They smiled.
"Aww, I love you guys so much." I smiled back at them.

Roc and Roe looked up at me with their big, sweet, brown eyes. Something both Nick and I have in common. It made my smile grow a little more as my heart melted inside.

.......

"Mommy, I want a hamburger for dinner!" Roc whined.
"No, Mommy I want pizza!" Roe snapped.
"Guys, no fighting! If you two can't agree on something then I will choose for us." I warned, hoping they would just choose together.
"Hamburger!"
"Pizza!"
"Ugh." I sighed to myself and called the pizza takeaway and ordered a pizza for myself, a small one for Roe and a hamburger for Roc to make us all happy.

And I LOVE pizza!

I just decided to order us a takeaway since I had been working all day with the kids. They're pretty fun to be around when I'm backstage at interviews or at the studio recording a new track for whatever reason.

The doorbell rung and I went to answer it. It was the pizza guy, thank god. I collected our food and paid the nice man.
"Thank you, sir." I said.
"You're welcome, enjoy the food, Ms Carey."

I gave him a grin and closed the door.
"Guys! The food is here!" I called out, going in the kitchen to unpack and prepare the food.
"Yay!" The twins ran out to the kitchen and sat at the table in excitement.
"I've ordered some pizza for you and me, Roe. And Roc I ordered you a hamburger okay?" I told them.
"Okay, Mommy." They nodded.

I brought out our food on the table and sat down with them.
"Where's the ketchup, Mommy?" Roe asked.
"It's in the cupboard, what's the magic word?"
"Please can I have the ketchup, Mommy?"
"Of course you can, Roe. Lemme go get it."

I got out the ketchup and sat back down.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"You're welcome, dahhhling. Now eat up, you two." I smiled back.

I lifted my first slice of pizza and dug in. It was so good. It was the usual at dinner time. There was a fuss about who gets to use the ketchup first or a food fight there and then but most of all, it was peaceful. After we were all finished, I went to put the plates in the dishwasher and take another sip of water. I also put a teaspoon full of honey in to help soothe my throat.

I felt well and completely nourished and full as I gave Roc and Roe a small bowl of ice cream for pudding. I didn't have anything which was the usual, once again, for me. It was 9:30pm at this point so I figured that it was time for bed for the twins.

"Right, my dahhhlings, it's time for bed."
"Aw, I don't wanna go to bed yet, Mommy." Roc complained.
"Yeah, me neither." Roe agreed, folding her arms.

Both of them pouted and I sighed.
"Come on, you two, it's very late and if you get ready quickly, I will read you a story."
"How about a bed time lullaby?" Roe suggested.
"Yes, I can do that too. Now go brush your teeth, get in your pyjamas and I'll be there in a few minutes." I said, shooing them upstairs.

After a few minutes, I went upstairs, brushed my teeth and quickly changed into my pyjamas before going into the butterfly room and tucking the twins in bed. "What should I sing for you?" I asked them.
"The song you were singing yesterday!" Roe immediately said.
"Yeah...I like that song." Roc agreed.
"Okay then."

I sung 'Looking In' for them and they soon fell asleep as I finished the last line. I kissed their foreheads and tip-toed out of the room. I walked back downstairs and switched on the TV.
