Lapis Lazuli x Gem!reader

Yea, this gunna be looooong, I wanted to write a lot for Lapis since she's, like, my favorite gem. I'm going to split in into two parts to make it easier. So just wait a bit for the second part. XD

Anyways here we go!

------------------------------------

Lapis and I knew each other very well, especially since we were in the same society class on Home world. We would be the fighters for the higher class, to make sure of their safety, especially since the rebels have been attacking.

We were to protect one higher class gem called Citrine, that was when Lapis and I met. Since then, we grew close.

One day, Lapis and I confessed how much we loved each other, to which both of us were surprised. We then not just worked together as fighters, we also worked as lovers.

The rebels were attacking quite more recently against The Diamonds. Of course, we weren't like the Quartz fighters, who were huge, but, we had a lot of agility that are opponents could not keep up with.

One day, I had to be a fighter by myself to protect a gem that was a Emerald. Of course, that day, the rebels had come. One who was thin and had pastel pink hair. Another who was much bigger with the most beautifully curled rose pink hair.

Honestly, I didn't like fighting anymore, I don't believe what The Diamonds and Home world agree on, especially on fusion. Lapis and I have fused once before, it was on accident but, both of us love it. Sadly, according to Home world laws, no gems that aren't the same can fuse. To the home world gems, that's just not right.

I believe Gems should be able to fuse with whoever they want to, there are so many things to explore such as strengths and abilities. That's why I believe in the Rebels or the 'Crystal Gems' as they call themselves. After all of everything I've seen, I wanted to join the Rebels, even if it meant my life.

I decided that I would tell Lapis what I was going to do since I wanted her support. I hoped she would understand that I wanted this for the both of us, so we could be free. I wanted us to stop fighting so we could be ourselves instead of servants to the higher gems.

Unfortunately, she told me how it would be crazy to believe in such a thing; of being free. She didn't want me to join the Rebellion, she wanted me to be safe, to be by her side. She was scared that I would be broken as punishment. She was scared for me, and I ignored her instead of listening to her concerns.

I wanted for both of us to be happy, so instead of taking her warnings, I acted like I didn't hear them and joined the rebels anyway.

I didn't realize my choice would bring a crushing end to us instead of bringing us close together like I hoped.

I fought along my new leaders side, to bring peace to the planet and for the gems to be free.

As soon as I finished the last gems I was fighting, I decided to go find Rose Quartz to see if she was fine. To my surprise she was only fighting one other gem, but the gem she was fighting made my heart jump.

There was my lover, Lapis Lazuli, fighting Rose Quartz. Listening to their conversation, my heart was turning into so many places but one was the most strongest; guiltiness.

"You! You're the leader of this rebellion!?"

Lapis voice cracked, showing the emotionally broken state she was in. Rose steadied her sword but, didn't say anything letting the ocean gem continue.

"You took her away from me. Your the reason she left my side. She was everything to me and what did you do?! You took the most important thing from me! I'm not going to let you put us through anymore of this!"

Rose's eyes widened as she watched a wings of water sprout out the gems back, almost threatening to swat Rose like a fly. Tears streaming down the dark blue gem face, she let out the last of her threat.

"I'm going to make sure you understand how it feels to have something taken from you!"

Lifting both of her aquatic wings, she readied for her attack on Rose, but was interrupted by a stab to her chest letting the ocean gem crack and retreat to her gem, falling to the grassy terrain under them.

Lifting the sword back to her, Pearl smiled feeling accomplished to vanquish the gem to almost kill her dear leader. As Rose was about to congratulate Pearl of her save, a loud sob interrupted to the side of them.

Both turned to see their dear teammate on their knees with tears streaming down their face, figure racked by the sobs choking out of their throat. Both gems were shocked to see their dear (Y/N) this way, especially since they were the most happiest of all of them.

Rose tried to approach the young gem, but flinched to hear the gems soft whisper.

"Don't touch me.."

Pearl tried to help her fellow teammate as well but met with another response, a little louder than the last one.

"Don't come near me..."

They both watched their dear (Y/N) get up from the spot, pass them to sit by the cracked blue gem that laid in the grass.

Both Rose and Pearl watched (Y/N) cradle the gem in her arms letting the sobs that she was holding in come out.

"Lapis, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!! I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I wanted us to be free to live, to love, to fuse, but instead, I left you to suffer as I fought down here. I could've done something else but I was caught up in a fantasy to even realize! Please, forgive me."

It has been many, many years since then, many things have changed. After the rebellion, Rose put lapis in a mirror, so she wouldn't break entirely. I held on to the mirror everyday since then, and I would stare at it, hoping it would do something but it never did.

I had no grudges after the incident, they didn't know about my relationship with Lapis, I never told them about it. I wanted it to be a secret till the war was over to show them her, but, because of my choice to fight with the rebels, Lapis looks like... This.

Rose Quartz is long gone, and everyone was grieving over her, but I smiled at the curly haired joy that she brought into this world. Steven, Rose's child, had grown into a fine young boy.

One day he wanted to learn more about gem life, so Pearl suggested we let Steven see the mirror. I was skeptical at first but let Steven have it for a day. Apparently, the mirror started to talk to Steven, and of course I was shocked but I was also excited! That means Lapis is trying to communicate!

I was shocked when the other gems said that the mirror was needed back and wasn't a toy. They were treating the mirror, Lapis, like she was dangerous!

Steven didn't want to give Garnet the mirror, so accidentally, he slapped Garnets glasses off her face. All of us gasped, Garnet was going to be mad! I've only seen Garnet angry a handful of times, but each time, it was scary.

Steven ran outside with the mirror, scared of what he did. We all turned to Garnet, who was picking up her shades to put on and turned around.

"That little boy...is in big trouble"

Pearl, Amethyst, and I were all stunned after the event that just happened. After Garnet left to find Steven, Pearl let out a shriek after registering Garnet's response.

"Garnet wait! I'm sure he didn't understand what he was doing!"

The four of us ran to find where Steven was. I suggested that he ran farther down the beach, since he couldn't run that far. Pearl suggested we should try splitting up but, Garnet said that wasn't a good idea.

Sooner or later, we found Steven about to pull out Lapis's gem out of the mirror. Out of fear of her being broken, I let out a gasp, but it was too late.

I watched lapis being pulled out of the mirror to fly through the air, transforming into her physical form, and fall to the ground. She then turned around and let out her first response after many years.

"Thank...you"
