New day, new me?

What he was feeling couldn't really be called a hangover. But the relatively high intake of alcohol he had yesterday and the fact that he didn't get enough sleep through the night didn't help the discomfort he was feeling now. But man was it worth it, Todd decided. It felt good to spend time with people again and even better to have a great friend like Lucas around him through the night. Although he felt a slight embarrassment over the fact that he was acting so clingy around him (he blamed that on the alcohol and the emotional turmoil he went through during the night). Clearly, he had bonded with Lucas a lot, as Todd considered him his current best friend and really, Todd deep down hoped Lucas would feel the same about him. Todd stretched with a slight groan before laying back down on the couch and zoning out again as he tried to remember all the stuff he went through at yesterday's party.

Each thought of his circled around same two moments: when Todd freaked out about Ramona and when Lucas helped him snap out of it. The first one bothered him massively as it became evident to him that getting over Wallace wouldn't be the only river he would have to cross on his journey to regain happiness. He grabbed his phone and opened Lucas' chat.

-Hey Lucas, I got a question that's really keeping my mind busy lately-

Todd stared at his screen and waited eagerly for a reply which, to his luck, quickly materialized.

-Hey what's up Todd? How can I help you? -

He contemplated a lot about what to text him as he rewrote his message several times before finally hitting send.

-Basically, remember how I couldn't keep it together when I saw Ramona at yesterday's party? Well, I thought about what you told me when I was at your place for the first time. You told me it helped you to find peace by making amends with the people you have wronged in your life. And I feel the need to do the same, so I can be myself again and not freak out whenever I see someone I have bad blood with. What do you think? -

Lucas read through Todd's message and took a while to respond.

-You sure Todd? That's not really an easy task, you know? It takes more than just apologizing and forgiving each other. You also need to forgive yourself and find peace within yourself for what you did. But if you really want to do it, then I will be there and help you through it. -

Todd felt his heartbeat pick up pace as he read through Lucas' message. On the one hand, the prospect of confronting his past's mistakes made him nervous. On the other hand, Lucas immediately offering up his help without a second thought was incredibly sweet to the bassist.

-Yeah, I think I need this. I am tired of having to constantly worry about my past mistakes haunting me- Todd answered confidently.

-Alright Todd, why don't you make a list of the people you want to get clean with and we work through it together? Would make it a bit easier. – Lucas replied.

-Okay, give me a minute-

Making the list was harder than Todd thought, not for a lack of names but for the fact that he wasn't sure whether to add the last entry he had come up with to the list. In the end he decided against it and sent Lucas the list he had created.

- -Ramona and Scott

-Envy

-Knives Chau and her boyfriend

I think that's about it, can't think of anyone else to be honest-. Todd hit send and waited for the former actor to respond. After a few minutes of scrolling through his social media and checking over and over again if Lucas had read the message, Todd gave up and went to the kitchen to grab breakfast. Midway through his fruit bowl he heard a short vibration coming from the phone he had left in the living room. He ran over like possessed and smiled brightly as he saw that Lucas had replied to him, blissfully unaware of how unusual it was for him to get excited by someone casually messaging him.

 - Sorry for the late answer. I took a shower. But yeah, I am free Monday evening; we can start working our way through your list then-. Todd quickly agreed and was grinning from ear to ear 'till the realization sat in that Monday was two days away, though he didn't really understand why that two-day gap bothered him so much.

"Lucas, Lucas, LUCAS!" Stacey almost yelled at him as he was leaning over his phone and texting instead of working. "Stop making dreamy eyes at your phone and help me, your girl can wait!" Stacey was a bit agitated as she dealt with the weekend's usual high customer count on her own.

"Sorry, just helping a friend," Lucas apologized, getting right back to work. The slight confusion brought on by Stacey's remark quickly drowned out by a customer's order.
