Luke

It's Friday night, it's been a whole week since Randy had told Luke that he would set up his date with Halsey, and now it's time for the monet we've all been anticipating; It's date night. Luke ran his hand upwards through his blonde hair, making sure that his quiff stood up straight as he looked at himself in the small mirror inside his car. He was on her way to pick up Halsey, but unlike last time when he had to stand awkwardly with her parents, she was already waiting outside for him. He quickly drove the small distance it took to get to her house, pulling up the the sidewalk and rolled down his window shouting a quick 'Hop in!' as the girl ran down her front driveway and pretty much jumped into the passenger seat.

She looks gorgeous, as usual, all dressed up in her ripped shorts, flowy tank top, and converse. Her hair down by her shoulders, as usual, framing her adorable face.

"You look perfect, as usual." Luke commented as he pulled away from the sidewalk and started driving.

"You don't look too bad yourself." She replied with a smirk.

Like Halsey, Luke didn't get too dressed up, and simply wore hs black skinny jeans, a black v-neck, and his beloved pair of black-on-black converse. It was really his basic every day look, but he knew that Halsey didn't mind it, to him she found beauty in the simple things.

He hummed softly to himself as they sat in their usual comfortable silence, mostly because he was too awkward - not to mention too nervous - to speak. Within a matter of minutes he parked the car outside the park and climbed out of the car, Halsey climbing out as well.

"So, we're just gonna chill at the park?" She questioned.

Luke shook his head as he walked over and took her hand into his -no coloring appearing out of anywhere - ad started walking down a dirt path with her.

"Kind of, but not really." He explained as they weaved past trees and fallen branches.

"Can I get a small hint?" Halsey pushed at the subject.

Luke shook his head again. "No, that'll ruin everything."

"Goddamit!" Halsey giggled.

Luke laughed lightly at the girl and shook his head happily. She really is too much sometimes, but she's one of the greatest girls out there. After sometime of walking, they finally arrived to a small opening and Luke urged for Halsey to walk in front of him, telling her it was part of her "surprise."

Halsey

The wind blew some of her hair back as she roled her eyes playfully at Luke, taking a few steps in front of him before walking past the small clearing. Her eyes widened as she walked into the wide open meadow, seeing all of the beautiful flowers that decorated teh grass, before noticing a picnic all set up in the middle of the field.

"Oh Luke." She sighed dreamily as the two of them walked over to the picnic blanket and sat down together.

"How'd you find this place? She questioned him, watching as he opened the picnic basket and started pulling out sandwiches and drinks for the two of them to share.

"A little birdy told me about this place. They said that you would probably enjoy coming here, so I figured why not?" He said as he handed her a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich, cut in the shape of a heart.

"Awe! This is so cute!" She giggled before biting into her sandwich, savoring the best that she could. Even though the day was so simple, it was beautiful in more ways then one, but the greatest detail to it was that she was with Luke.

They two of them ate and talked, giggled and chuckled, and laughed until their stomachs hurt. As time started ticking by, and the sun slowly started to sink, they moved the picnic basket to the side and laid down on te blaket together. Halsey cuddled into his side and wraped her arms around him, resting her head on to his chest.

She smiled softly and listened to the small thumping sound of his heart beat, finding relaxation and comfort within the sound.

"This date has been practically perfect." Luke whispered.

Halsey nodded her head, the smile on her lips widening a bit. "I think it's been amazing. What's missing, to you, that would make it better?"

She looked up at him, seeing a small spark in his eyes as his lips formed a soft, cheeky grin.

"I could think of something." He whispered once more before he slowly started leaning down.

Their faces we're centimeters apart within seconds, she could feel his breath tickle her nose, his lips brushed softly up against hers, but not enough for them to actually be kissing.

"Oh really? Well, what do you have in mind?" She cocked her eyebrow, wanting to see if he meant what his actions were implying at the moment.

She watched as his grin turned into a smirk, and before she knew it he was leaning in even closer.
