☾Twenty-Two☽

~ Third Person P.O.V ~

Inko gently placed one hand over Izuku's shaking one, attempting to calm his nerves whilst doing the same for herself. Today was the day . . . The day she would be getting surgery. If the woman were being honest, she was not entirely too sure on how to feel precisely-- so many emotions flooding through her veins; pulling her this way and that way. It was conflicting in a sense, not knowing what emotion to feel, not knowing what to say, not knowing anything at all. Everything felt like it was happening so quickly, barely giving her brain time to process all of this new information down.

It felt as though just yesterday she was being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It felt as though just yesterday all hope of her having the beautiful life she had always dreamed of swished down the drain. It felt as though just yesterday all hope was lost . . . But now she was here, really here.

Now, the only thoughts that ever passed in and out of her mind were filled with life, joy, and all things beauty. There was hope in her heart yet again and it felt pretty damn good to have there once more. Like a bittersweet reconnection. Of course, there were underlying worries mixing in with said thoughts; What if this all goes wrong? What if I die in the middle of the procedure? But when she would turn to her side, her eyes would lock with her boys, her babies,  and all the 'What if's' just seemed to disappear into thin air.

In fact, having them there only drove her to go forward-- to have faith that all would be well at the end of the day. Because not only did she have Izuku, Bakugou, and Todoroki-- but she also had just recently developed a soft spot for Eri and Hitoshi. And she'd be damned if she didn't get to spend time with the siblings.

Speaking of the brother and sister, the two hadn't been back to the Aizawa residence in the past week or so; their father didn't bother them throughout that seven day period. And they didn't bother him as well. Of course, Hitoshi had gone back the next day and gathered a few of their belongings once Inko suggested that they stay with her for as long as they wanted.

Hitoshi had come to grow a soft spot for the woman as well, and not just because she's his boyfriend's mother. He genuinely cared for and respected Inko. Naturally, Eri absolutely adored Inko-- the little girl more than thrilled to spend time with somewhat of a mother figure.

Growing up with nothing but men around could be tiring.

Izuku was just thrilled that everything seemed to be working out okay. Of course, just like his mother, he couldn't help but allow his mind to wander to all the 'What if's' this surgery could bring. But in the end, he was just euphoric that it was all working out.

And Bakugou and Todoroki? Well, the two were doing just fine. Were they worried about Inko going into surgery today? Obviously. But they were both relieved it would all almost be over in a matter of hours. As for the two and their relationship . . . well, they were going on strong.

"Inko Midoriya?" A petite nurse piped up from by the door leading to the back, "We're ready for you,"

"You'll be fine," Hitoshi hummed, gently patting the woman on the back.

"Yeah, mom, we'll all be right here waiting for you when it's over," Izuku chimed in, giving his mother a light kiss to the temple.

"And if anything does go wrong me and Hitoshi will just sue the place for ya!" Eri beamed, teeth gleaming in the lucent hospital lights-- her two front teeth still missing. "So don't worry,"

Todoroki and Bakugou each whispered reassuring things into the woman's ear, in return receiving kisses on the forehead from her. "Alright, let's get this over with, yeah?"

Izuku bounced his leg repeatedly as he nestled himself in between Hitoshi's legs-- the waiting room clock idly ticking by with each passing second. It was around mid-day by now, doctors and nurses flooding in and out of each and every door surrounding them; announcement on top of announcement being made known over the loudspeaker.

"She'll be okay Little Angel," Hitoshi cooed in his boyfriend's ear, raking his hand through the boy's curls.

"I know I'm just . . ." Izuku heaved a weighted sigh, turning around in the man's lap so he was straddling him-- burying his face into Hitoshi's chest. ". . . I'm just worried," He finished, albeit it was muted in the fabric of Hitoshi's shirt.

"We all are nerd," Bakugou intoned, threading his fingers through his spiked locks. "But like Insomniac said . . . she'll be fine,"

However, the way the young, blond, male spoke-- it seemed as though he were trying to convince himself rather than his best friend. The duel-haired man next to him interlaced their fingers together, giving the younger an affectionate squeeze; knowing it would at least do something to calm Bakugou's nerves. For he too had his won anxiety on the entire ordeal, at first he was fairly blasé about it-- be that as it may, after the first three hours went by his nerves began to quicken. Hitting him, as well as everyone else on full blast.

Eri, surprisingly, didn't seem to have a care in the world. She was far too preoccupied with the children's toys in the waiting room-- seeing as though her father never gave her the chance to actually be a regular five-year-old. It was something about these toys that just seemed to fascinate her.

"Are you all with Inko Midoriya?" The nurse from asked, holding a clipboard in her hand-- after receiving vehement nods from the boys, and Eri, she continued.

"She's still heavily medicated, but she out of surgery and responsive. But I'm going to have to ask you all to go in one at a time, we have a lot of equipment set up in her room. She said she wanted to speak with a . . . Hitoshi Shinso, first?" The nurse read out from her clipboard, eyes darting back up.

Confusion took over the purple-haired man's face at this news, he had figured Inko would ask for Izuku or Todoroki, or Bakugou first. Not him. After a few moments of sitting there in his perplexed daze, Izuku gave him a little push-- prompting him to get out of his seat and follow the nurse to the back.

Said woman wasn't kidding when she mentioned all of the equipment they had supposedly set up in the room. Wires, machines, and IV's were adorning nearly every inch of the room Inko was placed in, most likely all there to monitor a different part of her body to make sure nothing would suddenly collapse and fail. But overall? In spite of her drugged look, and wires sticking out of her; Inko looked . . .

Happy.

Genuinely.

Truly.

Happy.

"Hello . . . Hitoshi . . ." Inko said with a loopy grin, her eyes hooded as she spoke. "Look at me . . . I have no boobs!" She chuckled, her voice groggy and hoarse as the laughs emitted form the substructure of her throat.

The purple-haired man tried and failed to fight off the oncoming fits of laughs that escaped his mouth. "Yeah, but you still look good Mrs. M," He winked, over the course of the past week he noticed how his more . . . flirtatious personality always managed to make Inko smile.

Saying that he reminded her of Izuku's father.

"Dam right I do . . ." Inko snorted, before falling quiet as her eyes zeroed in behind the man.

Not bothering to look behind him the line of Inko's vision, Hitoshi continued on talking. "I'm a little curious, why'd you want to see me first?" He asked, maneuvering over the wires on the floor to stand at the foot of her bed.

"Because . . . I wanted to talk to you-- about Izuku," Inko explained, her eyes flickering back to look Hitoshi in the eyes. "There's just . . . one thing I want to know,"

Hitoshi cocked an eyebrow, head cambering to the side as he waited for her to elaborate. "What?"

"Do you . . . love him?"

A smile tugged at the corners of Hitoshi's mouth at the question, sure, the two have never actually said anything about the word 'love' in their few months of dating. But after giving it carefully, and scrutinizing thought . . . Hitoshi knew in his heart that was, in fact, deeply in love with Izuku Midoriya.

"Yeah, I love him a lot Mrs. M," Hitoshi thrummed, a ghost of a smile still gracing his lips.

"Good . . . Are you going to say it back, Izuku? Or are you just . . . going to keep looking like an idiot?" Inko questioned, a low chuckle rasping from her mouth.

Scrunching up his eyebrows together, Hitoshi finally followed her line of sight-- only for his lavender orbs to fall upon Izuku's iridescent emerald ones.

"Well this is one hell of a way to find out," Izuku giggled, his eyes commencing to de-bulge as he scratched the side of his cheek.

"Izuku if you don't say something to this hunk of a man . . . you're grounded!" Inko chimed in, allowing her head to fall back against her pillow.

It was quiet for a moment, just the shallow gasping of Hitoshi's breathing and the beeping of the machinery around them. That is until--

"I love you too,"

Hello Cricket Cultists!!

Soooo, this is the end? Sorry for not warning Y'all! But uhm, yeah, I'm not proud of how I ended it-- and about a lot of things really, so that's why sometime in the future I'll be re-writing this book.

My plans for the re-writing consist of going in and giving this story more depth, because it can honestly be so much more than this. And I'm not gonna lie, I do love this with all my heart-- I just think, no, I know it can be better.

I'm currently working on a few books, but for now I kind of want to do a short-story type so. . . .

I'M WORKING ON A BAKUDEKU 'TANGLED AU'!!! I'll be posting it sometime this weekend or next week! So be on the look out for it guys!

That's all for now!!!
