Chapter 4.

Previously:

With a sigh, Danny flew home.

By four in the morning Danny completes his homework and quickly brushes his teeth and jumps back into bed. His final thought before he falls asleep is:

'I wonder if Jason got home okay.'

________________________________________________________________________________

Jason did get home okay, however, he was not okay after he got home. Sure, at first it was all hugs and exclamations of happiness, but after that it was nothing but interrogations and confusion. Honestly, it was giving Jason a headache. He was even so distracted as to not have a single thought about Danny, at least not until Bruce questioned him on how he got home. To this he answered:

"...A friend helped me home."

It was vague and there was hesitation but Jason had a feeling that he shouldn't quite mention Danny at this point in time. Especially since he has powers. Plus, there is also the fact that Jason doesn't even know if they'll ever see each other again, it could've been a one-time-thing! Of course all of the Batfamily™ members noticed Jason hesitate but they decided to let it go for now. They had more important things to do! Like, for example, Dick Grayson, Jason's older brother, Boy Wonder, the first Robin, needed to give his baby brother, affectionately nicknamed J-Bird, another bone-crushing hug.

It has now been a week since Jason got back home and he still hasn't told anyone the details of how he actually got back. Still not wanting to give up any information about this mysterious new 'friend' of his, he kept his mouth shut whenever he was asked about them. Other than the fact that it is admittedly a little weird being back since he feels a little out of place, and with a new little brother to boot, Jason felt happy to be with his family again. He was actually looking forward to being a big brother and bringing all the joy that Dick brought to him, to Tim, though he would never admit this out loud of course. It turns out that even though he was only Robin for a short time and during that time Dick was off being Nightwing, he still told Tim stories of Jason and him to know about him. So, now that Jason is back from the dead, literally, Tim gets to meet him and actually get to know him as well!

Currently, Jason was sitting on the couch in the living room, scrolling through his phone. He was trying to find information about Danny. Even though they only met once and already thanked each other for their help, he can't just continue living as if that never happened! Jason wouldn't even be here right now if it weren't for him. Who knows what his life could have been like if he wasn't saved when it was, not to mention the fact that he was also supposedly 'cleansed'. Whatever that means. So with all of that, he's curious about the boy who saved him, and his powers.

And since he has powers, Jason thought. he should be mentioned somewhere.

After a few more searches and finding nothing, Jason finally remembered that he didn't just have to search up vague stuff. Danny had introduced himself with his full name, which means that that could mean something when searched up. Well not really, but at least he has something solid to search up now instead of something dumb like 'ghost-like powered guy'. Anyway, the good news is Jason got something, articles and articles about Danny Phantom; a hero from a small town called 'Amity Park' and apparently he is a ghost. Another thing Jason found out was that the townspeople used to call Danny 'Inviso-Bill™'. That got a snort out of Jason. Now for the bad news. While Jason was scrolling through the article, he didn't notice Tim walk up behind him.

Because of this, when Tim suddenly asked "What are you doing?" It scared the bejeezus out of him, causing him to drop (read 'throw') his phone when he jumped.

Looking behind him, Jason yelled "Timbit! You have gotten very good at sneaking up on people!" with an awkward smile.

"Yeah, well, with this family you have to." Snarked Tim.

"Oh, look at you pulling sass." Jason smiled as he affectionately ruffled Tim's hair, placing his phone in his back pocket.

"Yeah, well you still haven't answered me." Tim sassed again.

"Well, if you must know, I'm doing research." Jason said with a nod.

Now intrigued, Tim asked "What kind of research?" as he hesitantly sat beside Jason, only to be pulled to his side in a one armed hug.

"The kind that would probably get my butt kicked from Bruce, but what the heck. I'm researching a ghost." Smiled Jason.

"A ghost?" Tim asked, raising his brow.

"A ghost." Jason confirmed, nodding his head. "The same ghost that helped me with my Lazarus Rage™." He continued.

"What?!" Tim exclaimed.

"Yeah, he just opened this portal thing, grabbed me by the scruff of my shirt, and held me in it for a few seconds. Once I came out I felt the Lazarus Rage™ just melt away." Jason explained with a shrug.

"Whoah." Tim breathed out.

"I know, right! I haven't felt this good in ages! And, now that it's gone I can help you out without trying to murder someone! I won't run off to try to fight The Joker (Probably), and won't storm off to murder people (hopefully). I probably will still fight with Bruce from time to time, but that will be more normal, since kids fight with their parents from time to time, and people have disagreements." Jason ranted, a big smile on his face.

Even though Tim doesn't really know what Jason was like before, or is very close to him, it was still great to see his big brother so happy. Even if he only half-understood what he was talking about. Over the past week Tim has talked to Jason a decent amount for him being locked up in his room all day, and it is safe to say that almost everything Dick has said about him was true! Tim hoped so as he kind of pretended as if he knew Jason and acted like it was normal for him, a dead man, to just casually walk into the Batcave. Basing all of this on the stories he knows of Jason and his Robin training. So since Jason was searching stuff up and that was kind of his specialty, Tim decided that he would offer his brother some help. Besides it would both give him something to do, and he now has an excuse to hang out with Jason without actually asking! It was genius!

Now secretly excited, Tim asked with a 'I'm-not-excited-this-would-just-be-easier-and-go-faster-with-the-two-of-us-together.' voice. "So, since I'm so good with computers, would you like some help with this little research project?" Tim then took out his phone and added. "I won't even tell Bruce." Hoping this would help seal the deal.

Jason just looked at Tim for a second. After a moment he shrugged, took out his phone, and told Tim what to look up. Of course, once he did that Tim's curiosity climbed even higher because when Jason said "a ghost" he did not imagine what looked like a sixteen year old kid. Nevertheless Tim dived right in and ended up spending hours just sitting beside and hanging out with his brother. They even joked around once and a while. Over-all, Tim would say this was a pretty good day. Even if they were searching up a ghost. Scratch that. Especially because they were searching up a ghost.
