Chapter 5: You Know This Is The AVENGERS Tower, Right?

"Sir, Loki Laufeyson is in the loby." Jarvis's voice announced to the almost empty tower. Thor was in Asgard, Clint and Natasha were on a mission, Steve was out for a run, and Bruce was taking a stress break somewere in Africa. That left Tony alone in the tower, now with the addition of Loki. "Shall I contact S.H.E.I.L.D?"

"No, just the Avengers. We've delt with this alien before, we can do it again." Tony replied, hopping into the eleveatior.

"Yes, sir." Jarvis replied before begining to contact the Avengers.

When Tony reached the loby however, a surprise awaited him. Loki stood infront of the desk, dressed in black pants and a green long sleeve shirt. His hair was longer than when Tony had last seen him, just resting on his shoulders, he looked almost sad, and not at all like he was plotting to take over the world.

"Good day Anthony." Loki greeted, walking closer to Tony and extended his hand. Upon reciving a confused look from Tony, he continued, "This is how your people greet eachother, is it not?"

Tony akwardly shook Loki's extended hand. "You do know this is the Avengers Tower right? As in the guys that kicked your ass last time you came to earth?"

"Yes, infact I am here to inquire about the Avengers." Loki replied.

"What do you want to know? I can't tell you much, ya know the whole you're a villian thing and all." Tony answered, buying time for the rest of the Avengers to assemble.

"How does one become an Avenger? What is required?" Loki asked, completely shocking Tony.

"Well," Tony began to reply after some time, "...You need to be prepared to die for other people, you need to...be brave and um...want to fight evil."

"Is that all?" Loki asked, seeming egar for an answer.

"Well, you should probably be a 'good guy', ya know?" Tony replied, using air quotes on the "good guy" bit.

"Oh." Loki said, seeming bored if anything. "Would I be considered a 'good guy'?"

"What are you getting at?" Tony asked, inwardly starting to panic a little.

"I would like to be an Avenger." Loki told Tony, as the other Avengers walked in.

They had heard Loki's request suspitious and so imprissioned the god. He went willingly, yet another thing they found suspitious. While waiting for them to find a way to contact Thor, all Loki requested was a book to read. They complied reluctantly, though Loki did not appear to be planing anything.

After about a week, they decided they would test Loki a bit. They allowed him freedom within the tower (he had to be monitered the whole time), but he was not allowed to leave with out permission from Nick Fury himself. Loki seemed fine with this arrangment and never even asked to leave, only to have more books brought into the tower when he finnished all of Tony's small book supply.

Before Tony knew it, he found he had began to grow attatched to the book loving god. Loki's sense of humor and sarcastic personality had grown on Tony, and soon he found he had become friends with him, maybe even best friends. Pretty soon they were acting like kids and pulling pranks on the rest of the Avengers together. Though they had to put up with 'Team Frostiron'(as they called themselves) and their constant shinanigans, they were acctualy quite happy with the arrangement. One less villain to worry about.

When Thor arrived, much to Loki's dissmay, he was more than happy. He grabbed his 'brother' in a bone-crushing hug and held him there until he nearly fainted from lack of oxygen. However, the brothers 'happy' reuinunion didn't last long as Fury soon called upon the Avengers.

Nick Fury met them in the meeting room of the tower, once again with a distressing situation. Tony had his usual atitude and Loki was only mildly concerned, that is only mildly concerned until Fury mentioned the town Hydra was attacking. Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. He was visibaly worried and genualy conserned, practically begging Fury to tell him if people had been evacuated. When everyone questioned Loki on why he was acting up, did'nt respond with anything other than,

"I need to help those people!"

"Why should we let you?" Fury asked. "What makes this so important to you?"

"My children live there!" Loki burst out, then realising his mistake covered his mouth.

"You have kids?" Asked Tony, shocked that he hadn't known this after being such close friends with the god.

"Please don't hurt them, they know nothing of any of my crimes!" Loki begged, as if expecting Fury to command the torment and exicution of his children.

"How do we know this isn't an elobarate plan?" Steve asked, still not egear to give Loki a chance.

"My Brother does indeed have children living in Midgard." Thor spoke up. "I do not know if that is their home however."

"Fine." Fury spoke. "But if you leave Stark's side for ANY reason, you will go back to a cell and your children will become known crimianls. Agreed?"

"Yes, those terms sound fair." Loki agreed.

The Avengers and Loki boarded the quinjet, Loki reciving many questioning looks. Loki stood alone, staring out of one of the windows, until Tony walked over to stand beside him.

"We'll make sure they're okay. Promise." Tony told him.

"Thank you Anthony. My children are all that matter to me." Loki replied. He had only one goal in mind once he landed in Muskoka.
